Opps, me and names....corrected the post. Thanks for catching that spoutti. Sorry @hd_rider, BTW, did another bowl. It does seem to deal with the heat different now. I'm thinking without as much steel on steel contact that the bowl doesn't drop the lower oven temp as fast..? IMO, great mod.

Can't argue with anybody about the taste difference, so how about a hybrid. A first generation Ed's short Gong, modified with a hold down brace and silicone tip now with a glass attachment inserted into it. Also, thanks to the inspiration from hd_rider , I too filed the end somewhat. Haven't...

Love the way the metal lip is rounded and the grooves look less deep than I've seen as well as mine. Overall look is "sexy" for sure.

That's some tough luck for sure. Re-enforces the reason to buy from a reputable dealer. The one with the hole is freaky and maybe made on a Friday..? To get by until your replacement arrives, you might try using a toothpick to jam into the hole and cut flush with the glass. Should get the...

Specially when everyone smells the bacon and come over for a slice. I know bacon is a magnet around these parts.

About those doughnuts being like the Solo heater. Adding some idea ingredients here. I have never had one apart myself but saw this post by thesoloman which shows the Solo oven broken down. A rare glimpse indeed as it's usually all covered in furnace cement. Solo Oven by @thesoloman And these...

I also agree the Solo has minimal smell. It also goes away quite fast. However, if really want to be cautious if having a possibility of someone walking in. Keep a aerosol can of window cleaner close by. Just a brief spray puff removes what ever little odour there might be. I don't think mask...

I have the Ithaka, not bad for juice but a real pita for coiling. You have to join a non-resistive wire to the coil. The leads attach in the lower level. Maybe OK for the doughnuts because they have leads. BTW, awesome find on those pups. Do they get red hot? Was tempted to get the .75-1 ohm...

The middle piece is a freezer pre-cooler. 14mm in and 14mm out. A coiled tube incased with liquid. Initially I thought it was anti-freeze but learned (in time) NOT to leave in freezer as will crack if it freezes. I just store in the fridge. Good by itself for 1-2 bowls before back to the fridge...

Bummer for sure. The stems are all different in fitting due to the nature of the way the glass is formed. The fact of strait and bent has nothing to do with the fitting. With my last purchase of 3 strait stems, I have one really tight fit. Keeping that one in reserve as don't like the fit...

Welcome to the forum and congrats on giving up combustion. With the newer Solo's I'd just get 1 or 2 extra stock stems. When I first got mine, I too got a HEStem turbo which I loved but they break just like the stock stems....:bang: But cost a lot more. I did not see any big difference except...

Mine is following pretty much what I'd expect. When it was new (almost a year now) I'd get 2 sessions before the LED would start to drop and then about 1 session per light. (maybe 2 on level 3) so yeah, around 8 sessions if did one with indicator pushing below LED 1. Now, I'd say my battery is...

I have tried the braided ceramic wick and to be honest, not overly impressed. Hard to work with because of, as you have stated, the fraying. You have to keep the ends tide off until in place. I use dental floss. Even cutting it, I tie off with 2 pieces and cut between them. Holds up to the heat...

I've been scratching my head over this and other similar comments. I too notice that sometimes the load seems to go and go. Key word here is "sometimes" which doesn't make sense so I had to ponder somewhat to figure out what is happening. What I suspect and seems to hold true is the honey coming...
