If dry, silicone can be like rubber and so it fits and doesn't fall out. But my silicone is egtting wet a lot (and maybe resin does this too) and then it egt very "slippery" and needs a very tight fit/small diameter or get dried before assembling.

MFLB silicone tubes fits tight with EQ. Tight enough that they don't go off on their own like silicon likes to do in my observation. IMO silicone tubing with the diameter of the original PVC would fail. I use it with that bubbler.

The more you underfill the more inefficient with battery capacity you are. Yes, the performace and everything is not impaired, but to get most of one recharge it is better to fill more.
