Get a small egg cup. Fill to just above the line on the stem tip with ISO, level with where the screen is. Let sit for an hour then run through with hot water and dry thoroughly. Should do the trick.

I'm waxing the top under the perspex but not in the trench hole - there's only the tiniest visible slither of wood there just above the o-ring. I am waxing the stem insert hole but nothing beyond that's under the screen.

Your right on that one mscm88, you will get a bit of a wood taste at the start but it will diminish, especially hitting it native. I'm using mine now and I definitely can't taste the wood any more. You'll need to clean it reasonably regularly to stop it getting a bit smelly (of herby goodness)...
