Hold onto your wallet. Just ran my Anvil through a Grav Helix mouthpiece and a Grav Upline Bubbler. Adding the Helix moved the flavor to the forefront for me. And both dry methods are chock full of flavor, though some cooling is likely in order (bend of J-hooks, dimples/indents etc).
Without...
For those of you looking for a point of comparison, with the valve replacement piece (and a better understanding of adjusting air flow) the return to the water pieces has been great. This is the only device other than the Taroma that white walls my Grav Upline Bubbler as well as my CH B2...
But that $50 Welcome kit is still there for the budget conscious. *shhhh* I actually end up buying one of those if I want to get a new cap or tip, which means I get a case, lighter and body for about the same price...
@Vestratto will know if you got the correct length valve or not based on your order number I believe, but John will need to confirm. And yeah, when I say correct tube, that is the carrying tube, now in the correct length for the Anvil.
So I am thinking about how snug my coil is with the Qaroma, which due to the material used seems to need a fairly snug fit with the coil to best transmit the heat to the Quartz. So far, two ideas:
Find thin metal (Ti?) shims to bridge the gap between the coil and the Qaroma body. Maybe...
I'd recommend one which has some additional cooling built in. That could be the awesome Inception that I am using, or something dimpled from Oregon Glass. I'm also still going with the Sherlock more than anything, but I do want to throw some glass balls in there (Not sure diameter yet) to get...
I just pulled out the Herborizer 14mm bowl to run with the B2 injector. Greater distance between heater and flower but not so much as to render the B2 null. This turned out to be the most flavorful hit I've ever gotten from the B2.
Seems like a balancing act to me. Can bump up temps to account for larger distance from flower, which got me the best flavor I've gotten from the CH Baller (via Herborizer bowl), compared to the less deep Qaroma bowl. Have yet to play with Q/C/Taroma and various bowl depths. On the to do list...
Well, that certainly answers those questions. I'd quite liked 8V on Herbo Ti for my first round of the ATM, and converter to 2.5 is on its way!
Really loving this kit!
Got my ATM up and running, with all the attendant discoveries and questions.
I'm realizing that I don't know the voltage range of my Herborizer Ti's original dial, can only find the temps that correspond with each position on the dial. Any Herbo users know how voltage corresponds to positions...
Thanks as always for the details. One thing I like about the Tectonic Stem is the compatibility with the many cheap "drip tips" available. Loads pf variety there and then Vestratto doesnt need to focus attention on that.
I'll try to pull out my Terpometer to measure temp drop on my Ti. But yes, I love love love the detachable cable in my setup. Which is susceptible to cord being caught on things etc.
Just couldn't see anything that justified the Digital markup for me.
Yup. So go with your least restrictive pieces.
Speaking of which, wow the Sherlock is glorious with my Anvil. Doesn't quite have the cooling of my Inception stem so I think I might add some balls to give some added cooling (just need to decide on size and material). But otherwise it was a...
I mean if you are prioritizing flavor then you want the Herborizer Ti. Digital version not worth the extra money IMHO.
My shorthand for the holy trinity of heavy hittets:
VapBong /OAB: incredible effortless airflow. Most like bong.
Herborizer: best flavor. Never had better.
B-2 Baller...
