I no longer use anything but that was just white silicone in the picture. My thinking was to eliminate any buzzing which ended up not been an issue.

Hey guys, just letting everyone know that moving forward I would like to get PMs through the new FC forum. I restarted this thread there as this old FC site may close before long and do not want to lose all history. @Mono Loco and anyone else, feel free to c/p posts from this FC forum to the new...

Link to legacy FC thread The following is the initial post from the original FC site posted on Nov 23rd 2016. Posting here for preservation and continued discussions. Hey Guys. This is for those who have wondered about the plausibility of using induction for their VapCap. The answer is, yes it...

What does the gauge show while plugged in and turned on? If dead it should be at least 2-3 LEDs while charging and get up to all 5 fairly quickly but needs a full hour to be completely full. If you are getting heat for a cycle or two, I'd suspect the battery as being bad. It's generally not a...

VapCap Induction Heater for Desktop and in Car Use

It should only take an hour to fully charge. Did the charger go from red to green when finished? The power switch sometimes gets overlooked but needs to be "on" to charge. Sounds like it never got charged and you're looking at the gauge while the charger is plugged it. :\

The other way around. The thicker the less resistance. I guessing, but 4' AWG20 or maybe AWG18 should drop the voltage by a volt or two... I could do the math if I knew the ohms per foot but experimenting is more fun. Don't go too thin as the wire heating maybe two much. You would likely not...

VapCap Induction Heater for Desktop and in Car Use

To lower the heat, it's better to lower the voltage or insertion depth rather than trying to play with the output current rating. What you are actually doing is trying to use the voltage drop which happens as you approach the supplies upper current limit. The 5 amp supply is weaker because we...

Hey guys, I've been getting lots of PMs from folks concerned about their packages showing or not showing in the tracking system and seem to be hung up. This is all due to the pandemic and the Post Office procedure changes and employee levels. As well as the volume levels have passed Chrismas...

Follow the standard 60% storage charge. Batteries should not be stored full or empty. At 50-60 % shelf life is very long like months if not years.

That battery looks good! As does the connectors. ;) @Fogoff, could your insertion height have lowered? Is the heat shield still intact? I can't see any other reason for anything to change. :hmm:

Correct. The switch takes the battery out of the circuit instead of the driver. I wired this way so the connector port is not live when turned off. More pocket friendly in case of loose keys and such. Not really standard but IMO, safer.

The battery posted above is too long physically. Caution with using an external power supply with the PSM. It is fine with the switch turned off, however, if the switch is turned "on" you must ensure the internal battery is disconnected. It would be charging at whatever the supply will put out...

We all have to sit tight these days for many things. 1/If you read the FAQ, there is NO tracking on international orders. Optional tracking to Israel is like $70. 2/I can't even currently print labels to Israel because of the Pandemic restrictions at your countries end. I just checked from my...
