VapCap Induction Heater for Desktop and in Car Use

Hi guys, I have some bad news but hoping it's a very temporary situation. My parts sources from China have become very slow and in fact, haven't actually received anything for a few weeks. I even have shipments with tracking numbers but couriers have not picked up. Not sure how things will pan...

Circuit Designers high current voltage reg

Just use 2ea LM338 in parallel for a 10 amp limit. (or 3 for 15 or 4 for 20 amp limit.) The balancing is just adding a couple of resistors. Check out the circuit here.

It's so hard to troubleshoot from that video but can see a couple of things you need to improve. First thing is to solder the work coil as those blue connectors cannot be trusted. One just needs to give an intermittent connection and the FETs will instantly blow. Not as important on the power...

Once it's conditioned, it can be charged at any point of discharge. Always good to do complete discharge/charge cycles once in a while. The main rule about these batteries is that they do not like being stored at either full or empty.

The problem with using a portable is the same as with a laptop PC. For home use, it generally gets plugged in and battery maintenance gets forgotten about. Then when you unplug to use on battery, it goes flat quickly. Batteries like being used and not left to be continuously topped up. This...

    The "Project" DIY Herbal Vaporizer

I have never gotten into 3D printing myself (yet). Interesting thought though. It needs to be heat resistant and no off-gassing when heated as well as odorless. A tough goal for something that needs to be melted to form. Another medium is to stick with the theme and use more SS piping. Here is...

I copied these links from my bookmarks. Some are good but most are dead but at least there is a description. I started getting from Amazon after. The 14mm ss pipe is hit and miss on eBay. People have successfully used cork disks to raise the height or a 12mm disc cut from a high heat silicone oven glove. Cut with 3 small protruding bumps equally spaced around the circumference to friction hold in place but still has easy movement. Just raise by 1-2 mm will make a noticeable...

That unit is only rated for 3 amp output on the 12 volt out. However, that maybe just because of the battery-grade they use. Might still work with some voltage sage if there is no protection before that 10 amp BMS they look like they use. This unit is rated for 6 amp but the price along with the...

This link takes you back to assembling that battery scheme. The BMS lets charge pass but does not control anything as far as regulating charge current. This is why you need the smart 12.6v 3S charger.

I don't think UF4007 is a SCHOTTKY Diode but rather a standard diode. Therefore, I do not think it will oscillate correctly if at all. Also, the wire gauge you are using is too thin. You need a schottky type diode like a 1N5819 or from Ali. Also, you are using the tact switch for the main...

VapCap Induction Heater for Desktop and in Car Use

This power source thing has come up a few times. I stopped making as the 25 amp BMS is a little high rated for our task but works fine. I also had to decide on which unit to fill the position for a portable as I need to keep the lineup to a minimum to keep the production process going smoothly...

Here is a link to the ones I use. I'm sure there are similar ones at the hardware store. The magnet and gauge are held on by double-sided tape. I think carpet tape will work as well. If you want to get bold, crazy glue is an option but must be careful. It's best to put a drop on some wax paper...

You have the right idea there. You need to bulk up the original button such that it's close to the diameter of the tube. Then it should self-center the pin over the click plate. Now a layer of high temp silicone cut from an oven mat or mitt to just bigger than the ID of the tube so it will rest...

A caution here as the supplied supply is rated 5 amp but handles more for short bursts which sets it apart from most. If going by ratings it's better to look for 8 amp units as I've seen even 6 amp units hiccup in our application.
