    Zeal, Ω, and Epitome

This is rad. I love the inspiration behind it. Not just because I am a cheap bastard, but I agree that there is some really duplicitous price gouging in this space, and it's nice to see some ethics in pricing in an ever-inflated world.

    Camouflet Convector

What's up ya'll? Finally got my Convector delivered two days ago after it's lengthy journey across NA. The Convector was donated for an honest review on my YouTube channel (full disclosure: although, I see Camouflet has already affirmed this). I've put probably 30-40 bowls through it since...

Here's a little trick for removing the base plate from the revised CU.

The Angus Halogen Vape by YLL Vape

FYI FC: YLL has released an official PSA directing owners to NOT use the old cooling unit and switch exclusively to the new one. While it hasnt been ascertained exactly whats happening with melting inside the CU, theres enough evidence to suggest its a real concern, however remote, and for the...

The Angus Halogen Vape by YLL Vape

That might be your opinion but I was one of the people training to do it, and that was the video I was provided. So quite literally, it was used as a training video for service techs of Angus retailers to learn bulb replacement. It was created at the request of retailers, not forum members...

The Angus Halogen Vape by YLL Vape

That was originally the video provided for training purposes, and I can imagine that's why they didn't care about the bulb handling.. It should have been mentioned in the video that gloves are required, but I tend to think it's more of an oversight in the production of the video than a factory...

Yes it is in direct contact with the lower part of the socket. Correct.

The silicone sits below / on the lower end of the socket; there is a glass ring that sits atop the silicone and surrounds the upper, hotter part of socket.

All credit is due to YLL, and Mike's progressive attitude. Teardowns are commonplace in other areas of electronics such as phones, which we don't even breathe through. I applaud this level of transparency in the vaporizer industry and would challenge other vape manufacturers to do the same...

Just fyi, the bulb swapout video is now public on YLL's YT channel: Some notes: should anyone decide to attempt this, be VERY CAREFUL when removing the oven not to put any pressure on the thin temp sensor wires that run from the oven to the PCB. I cannot stress this enough, they are...

I'm going to speak with him about releasing this info.. I think all-in-all, it would be a net positive for transparency and a step toward right-to-repair. I highly doubt anyone with zero solder experience is going to be inspired by a teardown anyway, so I doubt it would result in a lot of extra...

I support "right to repair", as well. In a perfect world, the info and parts needed for self-repair should always be available to those with the skill to utilize them. If Mike changes his tune after somebody (who isnt bound by a verbal agreement) posts some teardown photos, I'll gladly film...

The Angus Halogen Vape by YLL Vape

I think ya'll might be getting a bit ridiculous with this flair stuff when a service tech needs to identify their "vested interest". Just my opinion, though.

Flair to reflect my interest in swapping lightbulbs? Why? Lol.. I make no money from Angus, I make it from my labour in servicing them. And to be completely honest, I haven't serviced a single unit to date. I've only torn my own down to learn the process.

The flavour is a lot better in addition to greater performance. RE: why no teardown: I have been given access to disassembly instructions from YLL in order to train to service Angus for bulb swapouts. That is the reason I did not film and will not post a tear down, as it would go against...

Some context: YLL discussed this incident in the 420VZ discord, he spoke with the customer and it was suspected to have happened due to a faulty temp sensor in the unit. Not much else was said, but were it not a fairly isolated incident, I'd think we'd have seen more instances of it by now.
