When you order a new coil for you Hex you need to be sure it is configured like this: Pin1:AC, Pin2:AC, Pin3:TC+, Pin4:TC-, Pin5:Gnd/Earth

You likely fried the thermocouple in the coil. The pin layout for High5 has the TC on the first 2 pins. While the Hex-nail, IIRC runs the AC through the first 2 pins.

E-nails typically pull less than 1A so just about any PC cord will work.
