This has been my dream dynavap since the day it came out but I’ve been so impressed with my simple M’s that I haven’t “needed” to acquire any others… till this beauty came along…

Even after extended neglect and abuse (repeated overheating/combusion) my Vong tip looks nothing like the one you showed upthread, it looks very much like this DV pic. Other than the overheating and extended durations of used-while-filthy it's only ever been dunked in Iso and H2O - yours has the appearance of some kind of chemical damage (note - Joe Layman here with NO knowledge of metallurgy making a rando observation). Perhaps that was part of some batch that had an oops in the final production stages that made the finish unsightly but not unsafe? Just spitballin' here . . .Does anyone else have a Vong tip that looks like that? Here's Dynavap's picture from their website:

My vong and omni tips I purchased in 2024 both arrived pretty matte on the outside like yours, but the bowl and cuts above the bowl were polished and shiny like I’d expect. Looks like poor QC or your tip is part of a bad batch or got missed in a final polish pass

I've gotten my neighbor's mail twice, heard bad things about our carrier (from another mail carrier!) and seen him pitch lithium batteries across the porch.
The 420 Futo case finally arrived from Canada, so I'm not crying. Tigerwood (goncalo alves) with nice grain...
