While cleaning my Hyperdyn today, I wiped the inside of the moutpiece with an iso-dipped Q-tip and a bunch of graphite colored residue came out. Did not look like the color of any reclaim I'm used to getting. It eventually wiped away, but I got curious so I adjusted the condenser depth a couple times and then re-wiped, and it seemed like more grey stuff came out. Couldn't be 100% sure that adjusting the condenser was the cause, but it got me worried that the condenser was scraping off metal shavings or something like that.

Has anyone else experienced this before? I also noticed a similar shade residue while cleaning the inside of the cap with a q-tip. Here's a pic of the residue, I really can't remember ever getting reclaim this color, usually more brownish. Or maybe I get this color all the time and I'm just a little stoned and paranoid haha

*Edit After doing more testing, I feel pretty confident that the condenser is scraping off something when you adjust it between the 7 airflow grooves. Pretty bummed about this, ngl.
You can use some dynawax oil covering the outside of condenser as friction lube to stop metal on metal contact at the micro level.

Understandable if you want to stay away from it, the vongs twisty airflow adjuster thing is probably a better design for not making metal dust. Ultimately if its metal scraping on metal and its not properly lubed your gonna get friction wear in the form of metal shavings. Seemingly the ti/ss powder formed from this is so few per adjustment and very tiny probably only a few nanometers in length so your body easilydeals with it like other metallic vitamins. Youve probably breathed in more metal walking by a foundry in an industrial zone once than you ever will with the adjustable condenser.

So maybe its just me but for the M7 I got something looks weird with the cap. Now before anyone says anything, NO i did not drop the cap or entire M7 at any time. It really looks like at 10 & 2 there is waviness. This has seemed to develope after a pretty healthy usage for the last few weeks.

Is this OK or should i be contacting Dynavap for a warranty claim?

This existed prior to me taking everything apart and cleaning it. I replaced stock condenser with a Titanium condenser Note to self: Do i need official Dynavap o-rings or can i use my assortment of silicon o-rings instead assuming we match on o-ring sizes ok.

i have been using the honest single torch I acquired when i got the M7. It has acquired a great patina but it does look like a burn spot at one point on the cap which i don't quite understand.

I've noticed with my Dynavaps, the top of the cap there where the click discs are constantly clicking usually gets a little warped / dented after some use. It's hard to tell if that's what's in your pics or not. Whatever it is in your pic though, as long as it still clicks in the right temp range it should be fine. Any o-rings should work as long as they fit and can handle the heat I would think.

Yesterday I looked forward to test my new Halo Tip and BallR on my woodwynd. Unfortunately I couldn’t assemble the Halo on my Woodwynd. I am wondering if there are O Rings missing. Shouldn’t there be any?

Satisfied my "i need a lil treat" cravings by making a pipe for the M7. I love how the "DYNAVAP" markings stay white when the cap darkens. It's so bold and good looking.

To counter what others have said, I wouldn't accept this denting at all. None of my caps have done it, and it's not something that should be there on arrival. DV is a great company with great customer service, and I'd give them the chance to take care of you.

Did that come new without installed orings? That sucks, as you need at least one. The woodwynd mouthpiece has two, and one of those could be transplanted to the halo tip while you wait for more.

i was skimming through some web sites and thought i found some decent deals on Dynavap so i shall share (i know not helping anyone's VAS) no affiliation although i have ordered through them before. If i hadn't already gotten a bunch of stuff during 420 i would have partaken/.

Dynavap M7 https://www.elementvape.com/dynavap-the-m7 $50
Dynavap Unidyn https://www.elementvape.com/dynavap-unidyn $ 90
Dynavap Titanium Vong https://www.elementvape.com/dynavap-titanium-vong-i $100
Dynavap M7 XL https://www.elementvape.com/dynavap-m7-xl-dry-herb-vaporizer $59
Dynavap Woodwynd https://www.elementvape.com/dynavap-woodwynd $100
Dynavap Hyperdyn https://www.elementvape.com/dynavap-the-hyperdyn $150

the current price on M7 XL is cheaper than the regular M7 i got directly from Dynavap <sigh>

Code dyna20 drops or dropped those prices by 20% the other day not sure if it still works
Seconded, M7XL shipped with tax $63.23 here. Great timing, after recently restoring my Vong that had been neglected and abused (*we* don't talk about it  ) I'd been looking at what's new at DV. Interesting things that had my VAS going but I still thought about a nice basic M-type for out and about vs the at-home WPA use my Vong sees. So to see this, all in for 60 bucks on an M7XL, is just fortuitous timing, thanks!

I'm resisting the Vong i now that I have the blue normal Vong, but that price is good and I kind of want another one to put a stainless tip on. They've also got the captive, low temp, armored, hyper caps, and the hyper tip discounted. B starter packs for $40 before the code, the normal price of a B by itself.

Edit: My resistance was futile
