I get your frustration because I've felt the same but they tread carefully by our estimation because we need independent votes or we don't win.. It sucks but at least there are currently enough people who are awake and paying attention and are willing to get their thumbs outs of their butts and go mark their X. The D party will always disappoint us but holy hell is there no comparison. One party wants to problem-solve a modern society and the other institute their own dark vision of a state built to abuse its citizens and terrorize the world. We need Ind's to see that.

Hillary ran a treading carefully campaign and she lost a layup election. Biden won the first time, but I think COVID did a lot of heavy lifting there. Frankly, acting like a tough guy with the Supreme Court would probably help him since his biggest issue is that voters see him as a weak old man. Independent voters support abortion rights.

There are more extremely troubling cases making their way to the Court right now. The Republicans can never win Congress or the Presidency again and still enact their vision for the next several decades. It would be nice if the other side had a plan for this beyond sending out fundraising emails.

It's pretty bad that John Oliver, a Brit, is taking more action on this than the President of the United States.

Deep down everybody understands this. If the most anti-abortion person on earth was passing by a burning fertility clinic and only had time to either save a 1 year old child, or a tray filled with a 1,000 fertilized eggs, none of them is saving the goo. The whole thing's a farce.

Oliver became a US citizen in 2019!

When I saw his offer to Thomas, it sparked ideas of go-fund-me campaigns for a lot of D.C. assholes. Maybe just to get some laws changed...
A big enough offer might even entice the Orange Man to retire from politics. Say, half a billion?

Edit: Pardon my naivete, I think I just dreamt up the Super Pac concept.

That's some poor parenting. Dad obviously lied to get laid, why doesn't he clue them in? Also, don't name five kids the same name! "I heard you liked Chad!" "Ew! Chad's gross! But his brother Chad is...well, pretty gross too..." "You must be going through a phase..." Also, why doesn't he have them talk to Dr_I who obviously knows a thing or two about high school girls? It's hard to run a Reich when your parents leave you unprepared.

Believe me, if half the people I know who get laid can get laid, there's hope even for the Chads. But, boy, will they have some hard unlearning to do. Oh, well, it's a nice pic of the end of the line.

I'm wondering how much of the enshitification of everything is due to the fact that 80% of the stock market is owned by a tiny number of rich people and institutional investors. Why compete if your competitor's company is owned by the same guys who own your company?

Surprising call when I got home... Tom will deliver them himself later this week. Very cool. He's a big shot in the "new school" of modern glass. I'll see if I can manage a selfie without dropping the phone.

I always think of you when there is a trembler in Southern California. San Diego is pretty far from the major faults, so I suppose you aren't as at risk as you would be almost anywhere else in Calif. I absolutely love your glass but it would make me way nervous...

I've been looking for new hobbies to keep me busy and been struggling to find local recreational sports teams to join... I could have sworn there were a decent amount a few years ago... But it's a lot harder to find active ones now! :(

His pieces truly are beautiful. I would love to see his work in person.

I assume you have a no animals policy on visitors. I can just imagine a happy Lab taking out quite a bit of your glass with his tail.

I have a friend who brings his Lab by occasionally and I always put stuff up in anticipation since he took out a bong a year or two ago.
