@Yocantech you mind if I send one of them off to a personal for further testing? I know somebody that would love a setup. Honestly... I'm not sure I needed this many setups lol. Nice to have them but if I end up liking them enough I might want to part with a couple.
Tired of the silica wick shit in other pens... quartz is nice. Silica you have to be gentle with. Very gentle unless you want pieces breaking off or the ends frizzing. The coils are actually well spaced on this one and the spare atty in the box. Unfortunately I can't use it to the maximum right now because I'm basically out of oil. Loaded up a small dab I had left, maybe 1/4 -1/3 the size of a pea right on top dead center, quick 1/2 second pulse, top cap, screw mouthpiece on, and went to the races. One hit, pulsed three times I think... Flavor was great... I think. This is better quality reclaim/vape resin, so you know it's hard to say it tasted very good. It was from low temp vaping though so not as bleh. I did take a pull before I loaded and didn't detect any strange tastes, so that's good. Anyways it worked. No splattering (but it wasn't too much loaded either), enough to hit once. By the way... Fits snugly inside of a 14mm joint
I dry fired it a bit to clean it up and see how it would go. About 95% cleaned. There's a tiny spot where it seems like I need to try a bit more to get it cleaned, but the quartz and coils are back to their previous clean state. Fuck yes. I like that. Actually, I just played with it some more and I believe I got the quartz hot enough with the coils that it cleared up. That's definitely a positive. Do note however that it gets pretty warm when doing this. Didn't burn myself but it was noticeable. Not sure how this dry firing to clean affects longevity of the atomizer.
@Yocantech if you can comment on this I'm sure we would all appreciate it. I'm curious to see how it works out with rosin seeing as it has more plant waxes and dirties up my nails faster than other concentrate forms. I'll get to check that out at some point tomorrow when I make a stop at the dispensary. I'll have to make a stop at the ecig shop as well to get an ego-510 adapter to try on my mod. Temp control dual quartz sounds appealing. If my one and only hit was that good on the battery it came with I should get some very excellent hits from this setup.
@smutman you mentioned a mod... were you using the standard atty on it? How many watts are you giving it? I'm too lazy to check the resistance with my multimeter.
I'm curious about the fatboy atomizer. It does look like it would do well with CO2. Long and narrow chamber sounds good for the runnier CO2. The size of the Evolve is another thing I like, about 1/3 of an inch smaller than my ecig setup which is an IPV D2 with a Doge atomizer and a Rameses drip tip. Also a little shorter than my iPhone 5 if anyone has one of those laying around. Put it in my pants pocket with my wallet and it disappeared. I don't have a purse so... can't say anything about that.
So far so good, but I haven't gone very far yet so take that for what it's worth. $25 retail for this is looking like a no-brainer. Not only is it not silica, it's dual coil and it's a "complete package".
My only two... I can't call them complaints or issues because they aren't really, but the height of the atomizer chamber and where the coils sit kind of make the included tool a pain to use. I had my reclaim on a thick gauge piece of kanthan and it melted right off the tip and dropped in perfectly. I'll try heating the atty up a bit and trying to melt the oil off the tool but we'll see. Secondly I am not sure that I'm sold on the atomizer cap just yet. I understand the purpose of it but honestly I haven't had any "spit back" issues with pens yet where the splatter ever makes it to my mouth. On the upside it will contain any of it that happens and keep the rest of the body clean. Good call there, it won't get on the mouthpiece body threads and get glued shut I don't think. more use will tell me if the atomizer cap gets stuck to the actual atomizer. I may just not use the top cap to make loading easier and bite the bullet with any splatter that happens. Maybe not.

@momofthegoons, they're called mods because waaaay back in the day electronic cigarettes were actually just modified flashlights with DIY atomizers for the ejuice
that was a bit before my time in that scene though.
