Cool thanks, yeah I read through so many posts on here I got lost on where the info was. Thought I saw some users were having issues with certain batteries? Maybe that has been resolved.

You're welcome. For sure there are some lame Power Bank out there, I've got a couple that actually have a small fraction of the capacity advertised (and that's at 3.7 Volts, but the time it's 'bumped up' to 5.0 then regulated back down to charge the internal battery you'll probably be lucky to get half what was in the power bank? I tend to like the ones that open up to hold 18650s, I've got a lot of them around here.....

OF, can you give us a name of the Power Banks that use 18650s? Thank you.

Sure, here are 3 from Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/Aurabuy-Exter...d=1438886256&sr=8-2&keywords=18650+power+bank
http://www.amazon.com/black-Mobile-...d=1438886256&sr=8-4&keywords=18650+power+bank
http://www.amazon.com/JgmaxTM-Unive...d=1438886256&sr=8-5&keywords=18650+power+bank

I have ones like the last two, they're basically a charger (mini USB) and a power supply (5 Volts for the USB output) in a battery box.

BTW, you generally only need to load a single 18650 to use it (it just won't run as long).

Yer welcome. Useful gadgets, recharge cell phones if you're so afflicted?

Probably a side thread at this point but I went with one of the 18650 banks. The one with 4 battery capacity thanks to of.

I have begun to notice the battery seems to be breaking in or I'm breaking into it. Anyway seems to be holding more charge and charging faster. Was even able to get a full charge off the wall chrger.

This vape is truly a next level device. Can't believe how little flower I use now.

Just so Dab HAppy!
I session with my ESV on demand! I don't have to wait between hits and I'm not locked into it once I start. I'm not rushed to beat some timer for the heater and I'm not worried about taking to long and having to let a heater re-heat or pre-heat once again.

It seems that most everyone in this thread like to rave about the on-demand greatness of the ESV for quick hits or mini-sessions. I would like to rave about the on-demand session qualities the ESV has. To me, it is much like smoking was as for use but I get the great taste of convection and the ease on my lungs from eliminating combustion. Most vaporizers require a method of use that is not really similar to that of smoking. You get tied up by the vaporizer and what it needs you to do for it to provide the effect you want. With smoking it was always simple for me- pull a bud, cram it in, put to your lips, light and pull, put down and repeat when ready. MY use with the ESV mirrors this- pour some pre-ground flower instead of a bud, pack it down with my finger and put the lid back on, don't grab a lighter and just pull, turn stir lid 180 degrees, put down and repeat when ready. I'm never waiting on my vaporizer and it's never making me feel like I'm loosing efficiency due to not hitting it soon enough.

I have never started a session with the ESV and had to turn it off because I couldn't continue a session.

I think this is why the ESV is such a great product for me. It allowed me to transfer from my typical smoking habits right into vaporizing without noticing any differences other than the pleasant taste of convection vapor instead of disgusting taste of smoke.

@tripwire I meant to mention it a week ago or so, but airflow was my biggest problem with getting accustomed to the ESV. I would pull and pull sometimes to get no results. I knew the mouthpiece wasn't so airtight so I removed it completely and tried hitting the ESV native style (like the MFLB) and it worked better, but I still had issues because the aluminum does not get as good of a seal to my lips as the MFLB did. I eventually came up with this and it has made all of the difference for me:

It is a regular grommet with a wooden stem (cut in half) from an MFLB and the rubber tip is just a V2 e-cig drip tip I ordered here:
http://www.v2cigs.com/products/rubber-drip-tips

Another thing to consider is the stir lid attachment. Do you have this on your ESV or not? I have it on mine. I found it was too hot with it and without it I would get no vapor so I modified mine to remove as much flat area from the stir attachment as possible. If you do not have the stir lid attachment, it might be worth it for you to look into as it does help retain heat in the heating chamber.

These suggestions for @tripwire could also be some early tips for you @ominosity

What $150 one? The only one I know of is long past? TIA

OF

It seems they are back up and if so are they the under 100 serial #s
Seriously considering this since delivery of GH is up in the air (or do the MD).

**edit** Looks like the 150 deal was just an old link that is still live. Exit it and go back into crazy deals and it is not listed :\

Still own one of my original EV's and I still have not been able to connect to a software version that will load on Mac without crashing immediately. Have sent the vape back to ipuff on 2 different occasions, still have shitty battery life and no way to adjust factory heat settings. Now the sensor that initiates a heat response does not engage reliably. Dammit! I really want this machine to work right. I can see why this vape has been walked away from with disgust. Maybe the newer versions are better, mine is #00028.

Thanks very much, that fits my understanding. There weren't all that many, and at that most attractive price they were exhausted quickly......a couple months ago?

While I don't own a Mac, I have the PC version running on a couple of computers and assume the Mac version app should work or we'd be hearing about it and Joe would have fixed that part (or got it fixed) long ago?

Battery life is limited, but the software upgrade should add about 40% to the capacity, taking 50 hits to say 70? But, given that S/N, it's going to take another trip to the shop to get the 'bootloader' upgrade, a software change in the basic unit you can't do, before the new program can be downloaded.

Since it's been determined that owners using the old software, which allowed 'charge while using', were wrecking their batteries by using that feature with an exhausted battery, my understanding is all batteries are automatically tested/replaced. This could well be your problem here I'd think (damaged battery), but I'd mention to Joe the sensor issue so he doesn't miss it in a rush to get it back to you. You only send the 'power unit'. Mine took less than a week to get back, but I'm within about 400 miles of him.

Once upgraded, your unit will be the newest version possible. I suggest seriously consider sending it in, better than letting it sit in a drawer?

Don't they have a lifetime warranty?

At least for practical purposes. I bought one of the $150 ones and even though I offered no 'paperwork' Joe took care of me. Stand up guy, IMO. Has 'a lot of irons in the fire', but still put my unit at the top of the list when it got to him (I had voluntarily delayed it so he could take care of a month's business in Europe (where ESV is more advanced as I gather).

Thanks a bunch for the suggestion, OF. I will follow through with the advice. Joe took good care of me way back when, I just kinda gave up after some less than stellar performance. The software was still being tweaked at that time. Really appreciate having your direction, convection trumps conduction for me.
