Abysmal.. thanks man for posting all of these great sites. I'm a noob so I probably wouldn't have found them.

I was looking at all of the links you guys put on this thread and found a few I like, but I don't know if they'd be the right match for me. I've got a CRZ coming so I'm looking for some glass that would work well with it. I know it needs to be on the smaller size due to restricted air flow from the CRZ. In this case what size should I stay below without having to be concerned with backsplash... 12in, 10in? Also, what are the benefits of the trees, the diffuser downstems, and the difference between a showerhead and inline? How can I know if it's quality glass or some poor quality from China? (I know not all glass from China is bad. I just want to learn how to tell the difference.)

I'm just trying to narrow down what to look for in a piece that would best suit my needs. I'm looking at straight tubes, bubblers or beakers. I looked at the Ehle 100ml, but it doesn't have all the "perks"... showerhead, inline, trees, etc. The diffuser stem has 6 slits in it, as far as I could tell. Is that good or should I look for a better diffuser stem? Basically I'm trying to get the smoothest hits from my CRZ to save my lungs for my athletic endeavors. I'd really appreciate links to specific pieces that you think are quality glass that would be good for a log vape for under $100 (or close to it). Thanks for any specific help anyone can give me. will get video up later, but it hits gorgeously. this pic has a different diffuser than mine.
mine is disk style, but a little chubby. took that first hit and ya know how you get that tickle in the back of the throat that tells you to stop? no tickle, exhaled a cloud to fill the room. light cough which should have been a coughing fit for how much i blew out. fuck yea! will try to get some vid up on monday w/ some good pics as well. gonna go for a walk and enjoy the sun!

I've only known disc diffuser to mean a disc that covers the entire tube, that causes the diffusion.
That's why I was a little confused
It's a nice looking piece.
How does the quality I the glass feel to you?
It looks pretty damn solid (and a reinforced perc is always a plus

it feels really solid and definitely a step up from the other black leaf piece i have.

For instance - the Solo stuck into that - would it tip it over, or break that from the stress eventually?

Bob, I know you don't have a Solo (in your sig) but what do you think it can hold? I guess you can do a test by putting it one a scale, and seeing how much you can stack on it, til it almost falls over or something. Unless, that test itself is risky, and shouldn't be done....

EDIT: I can't weigh my Solo since my scale only goes to 100G. It feels like about a pound however...

yea, it will take the weight, i believe. i put it on my kitchen scale, tared it, and it wasn't 'til over a pound and a half of pressure b4 it started tipping. you should be good either way with a GonG adapter, methinks. i like the combust bowl that comes w/ it too. will go on another piece, but still.

Btw, I think you missed one, Abysmal. This goes over my preferred size... but damn... 17" and perc'd like that. Niiiiiiice. I bet Frederick might even overlook his 10-12" limit for this.

I'm going to get the desired effect, using the room temperature water, I typically have in my piece. Heck, I even refill them, with room temp water. Maybe its for looks. the reason the ice pinches are so low is so that you can stack more in there.
personally i have no use for water filtration w/ out cold. water filters all the goods out of flowers and little tar. so the only reason for water to me is for cooling the smoke. the heat of the smoke tends to both irritate the throat as well as the lungs. thc on a chemical level causes the lungs to stop in-taking at a certain point i believe as well so the easier we can make it on the system the better. just as a better showerhead or tree arm helps break up that hot smoke to have more contact to cool it, the ice does the same. when vaping or doing oil, it will do a better job at filtering leftover solvents or residues from cheaper oils as well as the fact that we can reclaim that the water concentrates, unlike with a bong (no one wants that shiiiit.) my 2 cents.

It can be a nice change to inhale some extra cool vapor.
It's also nice when it's hot out, it's sorta refreshing
As for the height of the ice pinches, Bob summed it up nicely, it's lower to fit more ice.
EDIT:I guess I'm not getting why they shouldnt be there? They don't lower functionality of the piece, and give the user more options...

Trees aren't exactly my thing, but that's a nice piece for the price.

i have only a few inches in mine and have bong ice trays i use for such thing, but i hear ya, it's definitely not universal. can understand. plus it's an easy to add feature and probably helps with catching the water. i seriously have no idea as to specific validity or non-validity from a scientific standpoint, just playing devils advocate.

I'm going to be buying more from him. I bought the piece early Saturday morning, he contacted me late that same morning, asked for the exact measurements I wanted and said he was going to blow it on Sunday. Monday morning, had a tracking number, Wednesday it was in my box.
