Tip of the day: Did you know a stripped down 18650 3.7 volt battery fits the T1 or REV for use with LR atomizers.....Just use without the battery sleeve.

The other 3.7 volt option is a 17670. Protected batteries are safer. LiMN or High Drain batteries are also safer. Unptotected li-ion batteries should not be used.

Great tip!

It is nice to get beat to the punch. Love the innovation, strong work!

Thank you. TV.
I am new at the TV (just got it Friday) and was wondering about the batteries. Is there a break in period for performance to improve. I noticed that there seems to be differences between the punch. Also, I did have one defective from box. It refused to take a charge on the provided charger so I give it a brief 3 amp push. I am in the technical field and have a variable current controlled power supply at my disposal. Will it worked and started charging normally. Not familiar with the characteristics of the Lipo technology but they do seem to have strange charging characteristics from what I'm use to.
Thanks again and great product

Agree there. You can get protected 18650's just mentioning it as an option for those who might have these and LR stuff. They do pack a longer punch.

Hey TV - have you had any progress on a PA? I would be first in line, this is by far one of my favorite devices but I feel seriously restricted as a slave to the charger on the PO4's.

Well I'm becoming a fan. DAY 4 but first day of new herb.
First off the grain of the herb is very important.
Using the powdery bottom of the bag stuff just frustrated the hell out of me.
Second is that the batteries must be topped up and then some initially. At least I think this was my mistake and things improved after a couple good cycles.
Also, since I use it for ecig as well, I have been using whatever battery juice is left in unit to use for a quick chamber preheat.:brow:

So in reading above and others I did the course grind (now I think the statement "pea size" is a little misleading as only about 3 peas would fit in it...LOL) and was very impressed. Not huge fumes by no means but very nice taste. The new herb was kind of dry but sticky.
Tasted the same as it smelled in the bag. mmmmm
Full bowl got me 6 hits counting the first warm up hit.

So next up was the same with fresh batteries and 75% bowl fill. Again from reading the wise folks above. Now I was very, very stunned. 25% less herb and still managed 5 hits and they were ALL great. Even the warm up hit had some vape.

So did the math, comparing it to my IO, yes this time I had my scale and calculater out.

IO 100% Fill TV 100% Fill TV 75% Fill

340/260 mg 25% 110/75 mg 27.3% 70/50 mg 28.6% Before/After Effective Vape.

22 Hits (6.5 H/100mg) 6 Hits (5.5 H/100mg) 5 Hits (7.1 H/100mg)

Now all the hype makes sense. The is very effecient when running at 5 hits per bowl. Kinda hard on the batteries though.
So combined with the IO it's an awsome team. Both great portables, one for sit back and relax and one for quick but slow washroom breaks....
If it gets any better will let you all know.

And the Key Ring Agitator is born. Also can be used to hold a screen if need be.

TV's will like be teflon coated. I found this one in a key locker at work, never knew there were so many sizes. LOL This material doesn't like to bend (which makes it ideal) so bending should be done slowly as it is brittle and heats up and breaks if bent fast.

Cool idea, best of luck with it. Please keep us posted on progress? Thanks.

However, I'd rethink the material and definitely discourage others from experimenting along these lines. Chrome is potentially a very serious health deal depending on oxidation state (remember the Erin Brocovitch story?). Since there's a chance flakes of the plating can find their way into the heater core were oxidation states could change I'd steer wide of that one. More importantly such key rings drawn randomly from key lockers and local stores can also be cad plated (a much cheaper process, commonly used on steel hardware) which is decidedly nasty nasty toxic when hot. Fume hood country. For sure not the sort of fumes we want.

IIRC both are metals of concern in tobacco smoke (even at very modest levels found there)?

There are known safe materials, I think we should therefore avoid ones with known problems? Stainless steel (which of course contains chrome but is not subject to 'sluffing off'), unplated steel, and Nickle plating seem better calls.

A few comments:

Pipes: The quick start card and guide should read "Smaller then a pea" we agree Pea sized is too big! Although a very fine grind is not needed IMO. Smaller then a pea, larger then a BB, or BB sized is pretty good. Consistency similar to a finger grind (just grinding well cured botanical between your fingers) works pretty well. Really glad you are enjoying the T1!

mvapes: Yes, we have made progress! We are working on this daily... we are now prototyping! It will be coming as a T1/Rev accessory in the not too distant future, although the leaves may be changing color by the time we have thoroughly tested and optimized the unit. It is not a passthrough adapter, it's better.

OF: Spot on as always with your comments on materials and safety. MAterial, material, material, in our minds it all starts and ends with the right material. It is the one area that IMHO should never be overlooked or shortchanged. The material has to be right for the job.

Funny world, this. I did similar calculations a while back and had to dig some to find the data. Much like yours, only with IO and MFLB. I figured a little THC is left in the AVB but in round numbers the vapor is about 50% THC. Close to, but not as good as, concentrates in most cases.

I tried to make sense of it from a mg/hit perspective instead. Using delivered THC, not vaped weed (although the two should track you'd think), but I couldn't make sense of it. I think because 'hit size' wasn't well controlled.

Anyway, fun stuff. I got the to the same conclusions, neat machines but best as part of a team.

Thanks.

Has anyone used the pureflow with the TV1 yet?

Really want to try it but I don't want to be the test dummy while I'm broke :/

I am ordering one later today and will post my findings when it arrives. I also plan on getting a glass attachment to try out.

Thanks Gonzo. I'm really interested in how the TV is with the pureflow just neutral as well, currently I can't afford any glass to use with it.

The Vaped One
Got the Pure-Flow and Glass adapter and so far, awesome.

The Pure-Flow fit is firm because of the o-ring but the base of the metal is looser fitting so it does rock a little if played with. You can hear the ceramic piece move a around a little if shaken. Hit without water in it on a fresh load and the vapor is definitely cooler, made it a little harder for me to feel how fast to draw, has a bit of a sweet spot because of the throttling that it does. Put a few drops of water into the ceramic (from the top it looks similar to how the inside of the REV looks) drew in and had a gurgling sound so I blew out and got any pooling excess out. Hits cool and smooooooth with the water, next step is to try flavorings :brow:.

Glass adapter is a nice solid piece of plastic. Fits well on my bubbler and even though I didn't get to use it on it, a test fit on my friends bong is nice too (though he needs to really clean it cause it got almost to firm a hold). They forgot to send me the extra mouth piece and tubing so I cant try out that to compare to my silicone whip yet (this more relates to the revolution tho).

Just like the base unit itself these new adapter have their own way of making you want to use them right and you'll know when you do cause the payoff is pretty nice. Nice for the price? Maybe, depends on your options. If you have glass then I think just the glass adapter would be all you need for home but you might still want the Pure-Flow when out and about so they have their own uses. These again are both really well built pieces of equipment as we expect from a company that makes their products in-house. I feel like I will own this set for the rest of my life, be able to pass it on down the line in my will lol.

Oh no...not more chipping issues :uhoh: Please don't let another one of my favorites go sour LOL.

Mine seems quite fine so far. How did that happen?

Impacts? Remember, the aluminum on the rim is thin and soft. It will dent. The nickle plating, OTOH, is brittle.......

In that case, it looks like someone was trying to bang their TV against a rock to knock out the ABV :/

EDIT: On a second look, it doesn't look that bad, I thought the metal was chipping, but it seems like the plating.

Hey, I've been in a hurry before.... You've never been?

I also think it's the plating, if the base aluminum is chipping there's some other issues in play.......

Bummer is, it's attached to the most expensive part. Lucky thing is it should still work normally.

As far as function is concerned it's working fine, no heat issues to speak of.

there are no dents in it, only the nickel plating is chipping off. with indoor light it is hard to see, but that photo really makes it obvious!

I have never tapped the TV on anything other than my hand to get the herb out. i use my finger/nail to pull any that is stuck in there out. I do shake it to mix the herb between uses (sometimes with the cap loosened most of the time not) the base of the unit where the core screws into the unit is also chipping.

a few times when I have been stirring (when i did it in my hand) I would find a metal flake in my herbs. I sure hope I never inhaled any flakes! :o hopefully they were too big to pass the holes in the cap/herb buildup I like to let collect and be a natural screen

all the same I think I better email thermovape for their opinion now.

Ordered me the PureFlow - waiting...

Also got a white Delrin (whole set) cover for my black TV. I really wanted the white one, but didn't want to get it because I feared it would get dirty. However, now - it will feel like I have a brand new Vape! The white one looks too cool to me.

Also I think I might get a new top - since I don't think it's easy to separate the Delrin from the metal top. So it is sort of like a new TV, in a small way.

The electroless nickel plating should not chip under normal use. Electroless nickel will show signs of wear and tear over time, mainly by developing a patina/tarnish.

As this looks like it is purely on the outside of the bowl it is not a functional issue and you can continue to use the bowl.

I will tie you a "Free Core and Bowl Credit" that you can use now, or in the future. Letus know what you would like to do.

Email us at info@thermovape.com.

Cheers.
