I really look forward to hearing all of your usage reports on this. One would hope it gives world changing vapor output and potency, because I'm just not picking up what pax is putting down.

It seems like it removes the easy to clean airpath in favor of a lot of inaccessible spots end to end.

It's also extremely frustrating that they have the bottom free for a charge port, but didn't move the power button down there. Having to put your dirty fingers a few mm from where your lips go was always a huge flaw to me (and impossible to operate when using a WPA).

What about smell? Is that side plate sealed? Is it a proprietary gasket?

Furthermore, they made it bigger, where one of the stand out features of the prior versions was their ultra-portable size. And with this size increase, we still don't get a replaceable battery?

I think at this point, Pax is not trying to win over people who are already staunch critics of their devices. They have enough fans/casual consumers that will enjoy the obvious improvements made to this.

People act like Pax did something to them personally. Ive had my Pax 3 for years and its performance is still great for a discreet portable. I have no doubt that this new device will surpass it based on the specs.

Either the brand is for you or its not, but they aren’t trying to prove anything to people who already dislike their stuff. They’ve been around for a long time.

You misunderstand me. I'm a fan of Pax, and the Pax 2 is bolded in my favorites for a reason.

So it looks like we have some answers on the design changes of the flow. So i thought there was something about Real Time Temp control but perhaps there is no way to tweak what those temperatures were. So my original thoughts leading up was it was going to be more like Roffu, but seems not.
We can see they want to keep user interface very simple.

I want to see how these Two ovens work especially with these new heating modes. (somewhere i recall seeing two ovens but obviously there is only one in a device this small) Biggest change IMO

INTUITIVE HEAT MODES

Select from five intuitive Heat Modes with patented, real-time temperature control that fine-tunes each session. Whether you want to sip it for maximum flavor or rip it in Bong mode, PAX FLOW delivers it all.

Seems like the shape and size is similar to original PAX models. So we have similar mouthpieces (raised and flat) and maybe original WPAs might still work. Original design was SO Stealth, and i think this is the same. But maybe they can address the smelliness of PAX.

Finally USB-C and i am guessing the original magnetic charging connector was used because it was less intrusive to the shell of the vaporizer; Maremaresing is right about the power switch. I found that a bit frustrating when i was using with a bubbler or WPA etc. to have to remove those first.

Warranty is 4 years rather than 10 like my Plus. That should decrease some of their warranty costs especially over batteries.

Hey i hope they hit it out of the park with this new one! It will all come down to the experience(s) they can provide.

I agree with basically all comments/complaints above, and (also) still always end up using my Pax 3 more often than almost any of my vapes.

The thing that kept me from getting the Plus is the Temp controls, but I am a sucker and got the Flow in spite of it.

No idea when they are shipping, but will definitely let you all know my thoughts when it arrives.

Nitpicking at this point, but hey design is important, and we are talking about Pax, but I find the full logo branding obnoxiously lame. Shame. 🤮

I really like my Pax plus, form factor and convenience are unmatched, but really not sure I would spend that much, instead of a TM2 or Frolic, if I wanted a battery vape now.

I love Pax designs, I really love my Pax Era Pro.

But, I've read on many reviews of the problem of this one getting quite hot to the point it's hard to keep in the hand.

Many reviews?

Ive seen one, and it was in reference to the “bong” mode.

I think you're talking about the article on POTV. I saw these too :

In other words, every review I saw mentioned it getting pretty hot. And when you're doing a corporate unveiling where you're part of the marketing, it says a lot.

thanks for this!

edit: the pre roll ad in the middle of the review is taking me out 💀

That looks like a fairly decent review. POTV will probably sell a lot of PAX too.

Still want to know if the mouthpiece and WPAs would be the same

so the link on the vapor.com web site above confirms one thing, the existing WPA for a PAX will still work with a PAX Flow, good to know.

i haven't seen a copy of User Manual yet so i have no clue if the power switch is in the exact same place as other PAX models, but i am guessing sol

The only other thing i have not seen was any reference to the concentrates oven. Not that i really liked the Concentrates oven a bit. it was messy and a wax pen was far better suited IMO.
Did anyone else use the Concentrates oven at all?

I did. To help avoid mess I’d do a small amount and keep it upright

1st pax to even show up on my radar, so a new firefly configuration with a similar laughable price to match. when it's 1/2 the price of a tm2/frolic I would be interested. looking forward to nonhype reviews.

Man I really didn’t need this but ended up ordering it anyway. I’ve really been waiting for a hybrid Pax. I have my friend my old mighty and he said he was considering buying a pax plus for the form factor. But I told him definitely don’t do that because of the pure conduction and vapor performance not coming close to a Mighty.

I ordered this and if it’s not what I’m looking for i just plan to sell to him at a discount so I’m actually very happy.

Edit: holy shit I just checked tracking while at work and I’m seeing it’s delivered when I ordered it on Tuesday! Will report back soon.

One issue with Firefly is you have to use it perpendicular to your face, I am pretty sure that is not the case with this new Pax (I guess unless you use with concentrates, which it was not built for). There are plenty of other differences including FF being so particular in draw speed to get good results, etc
So not sure it’s a fair comparison

But we shall see -

I ordered first thing on Tuesday and JUST got the pre-shipment notice.
Very jealous @Toivarita !

Had to order from vapor.com because of shipping laws to my state. So i think at the earliest, mine will be shipped out Monday.
Kinda funny too because I realized I ordered my Pax 3 from the same site in 2020.

I got the greenstone with the matching sleeve (due to early reviews of it being too hot), the puck press and stash tube.

Ive had almost every Pax, I think the only one I skipped was the 2. Even had the app that let you control temp until it was removed from the app store (and side loading is a pain on iOS). So for me, I would feel cheated out the experience of trying their best device yet. The price could be way better, thats true. But its like, I’ve been a user for damn near a decade. Would be crazy to not see what their first hybrid, open airflow device is like. I have a feeling it will blow my 3 out the water.

Performance has greatly improved over all other Pax herb vapes. I never liked other Pax devices from their poor vapor production and vapor quality.

Hoping to have a good review up tonight. After the first session, that I prematurely ended from time constraints, it was a very delightful and fast session. Probably 5-7 rips and it was close to done. The vapor was surprisingly cool throughout the session because it seemed the body of the vape was acting as a heat sink. Idk how well that’ll work for back to back sessions though. Prolly not great.

At the top of the chamber, a thin layer of herb that connects to the lid/vapor path was a bit less vaped than the rest of the pack. The rest is very nicely roasted like a S&B device. Hopefully it will help even out at higher temps since I stayed at low temps and never kicked it up. No hot-spoting or rings in the pax like I have on my TM1.

I don’t have much else to say until I can put it through some work tonight but feel free to ask questions. It fits in the Puffco Pivot case! This is for sure going to be my To-Go Box!

Edit: there are no holes that are feeding the top layer of the herb. Idk what I was thinking.

Mine came in the mail today. I like, just not sure I $350 like it compared to the plus, especially since it’s so much bigger

The vapor is smoother and produces more than the plus. I’m keeping it, but it doesn’t blow me away or anything

Damn this thing gets hot. I have over 100 vapes, and this might be the one that gets the hottest i’ve ever felt one get
