I managed to get my hands on a T2...what a great device....I have been zombified off it the last 3 days does anyone else think the effects are heavier than the T1 ? I wasn't sure about the design but in the hand it's just beautiful I way prefer it over the T1 it's the easiest vape of this kind to spin with the torch too imo..click with the torch is spot on , nice dark roast at 2nd click and it's easily repeatable I've not got a Wand anymore and I don't need it with the T2 it's perfect with the torch i struggled with the T1 to torch it.
Much prefer the more simplistic mouthpiece too no messing about swapping those mouthpiece thingys over like T1.
I'm sure there's other things i have forgot but im wasted again off it

@Brenyo This device is a work of art! I hope you are proud of the your design work... it is exceptional in every way. I've had mine for a week now and there are so many tiny details which make the experience truly premium and joyous that I feel I've had a bargain. It's beautiful, it feels amazing to hold, it's well thought out and somehow hits better than my desktop ball vaporiser.

My only other butane vape was a Dynavap vong and in comparison the Tempest 2 is like a Ferrari compared to a bicycle.

I really appreciate getting in on one of the last titanium preorders that became available and will recommend this device to everyone!

I keep wanting to run my T2 through glass, just because it has the built-in WPA. But I just love how it hits natively that I haven’t bothered yet.
You have to try it through glass soon. It will take your enjoyment to a whole new level!

When using the T2 natively I've been setting my wand to 315c, when I'm using it on a piece I've been increasing it up to 320c to 330c and getting really good results.
A week ago my temps were much higher, like in the 360c to 370c range, but I've found closing the airflow on the tip (mines about halfway), allowed me to drop the temps and get virtually the same vapor production, and much better flavour. Very happy.

I’m really enjoying the v2. It’s a great device. An improvement over the original in just about every way. However, having said that there is a frustration that I have to get off my chest.

Has anybody noticed that the bowl o rings getting damaged prematurely? both of my o rings on the bowl piece itself looks almost shredded. Which is impressively fast given that I’ve been using it for about 4 weeks.

Also; this frustration is anecdotally entirely my fault, but perhaps others can relate. Has anyone else spent over an hour taking apart their plumbing trying to get the singular ruby that they weren’t even able to test yet just for that ruby to slip into another dimension and defy the laws of physics?

Edit: 1 o ring to both

So kind of an off-the-wall question, but could anyone measure the diameter of the tempest 2 head for me? I’m curious if I could use one of the IO Hornet coil adapters and heat it up with an old enail coil I have 😂 I’m pretty new to this, so if anyone’s got some insight here I’d appreciate it!

I've been using my V2 Ti since May, every day all day from around 1100. I have not had any problems with o-rings.

I would suggest: do not rotate the bowl so the rings are not squished around in the seating. Very lightly lubricate with MH lube or some other vape o-ring lube after each clean. Do not soak the rings in ISO for longer than a minute or two.

If no effect, look for tiny burrs in the seating or the bowl ring seatings.

Hope that helps.

Experimentation is indeed the key to dialling in for your own needs! Rememebr that the wand readings are in fact a timer ... there is no temp setting per se 8)

I'll try the tip air reduction again, mines fully open at present as works very well through glass.

If no one gets to it, I can check with some digital calipers at some point today.

Boo...I just opened the head to reload and the balls went scattering. I'm not sure why or how the screen got loose. I have been using it over a week since I last messed with the balls. I found most of them.

I was thinking about throwing the rubies back in today anyway, but now I'm obsessively crawling around looking for missing zirc balls.

Is there a "correct" orientation for the ball screen? I noticed what looks like "F" on the screen, maybe I installed it upside down. I had it so the F was backwards.

Would you mind @mcscruffy sharing your settings with the rubies, I.e. wand depth and wand timer / temp.? I still, struggle to get good flavour and dense clouds together.
Sorry it took a few days extra but here's how I have the depth on the original glass adapter on the wand. At 595F and with the rubies the second click is in sync with the time over message and I've had zero combustion with medium-dark roast ABV by the end. This setting is perfect for me so I'm glad I didn't have to do a ton of trial and error.

Has anyone tried silicon carbide balls yet? Is there any difference with zirconium balls?
Yes I have they are my favourite, they seem to hold the heat longer. My wand is set to 270c (I think, not home to check) hole on the cap is half closed and I feather the carb hole as needed…it produces thick flavoursome clouds. Fully loaded bowl with some bubble sandwiched between the flower and I take 3 heats, letting it cool down fully between each one. I’m always retarded after the first hit, so letting it cool is no issue for me. On the 3rd heat it can sometimes taste toasty depending on the flower. If this device was around when I was younger I wouldn’t have combusted for 20 odd years. Amazing bit of kit.

So I'm a tad confused, what is the difference between the upgrade kit and buying a t2 head? I'm assuming the upgrade kit is a little more of a manual process and is more involved. I'm also assuming it might not be an upgrade to the bowl size and is instead strictly an upgrade on the heater itself? I

It's an upgrade for the cap, so you will still be using the T1 bowl

I believe you get an induction sleeve, a whole new indicator housing, VI and click disk.

Ouch! Yes the F is read as an F, so your screen is upside down, or was 8)

This explains the only two mishaps I've experienced with my T2 😅 played around with it just now and yeah much better. I recovered all the zirc balls after the first incident, but after the second I didn't have a choice but to toss the rubies in 😥

For those that haven't cleaned their balls yet, you might want to. I think it's needed more often than the recommended every 300 bowls. A 2mm flathead for the ball screen and 2.5mm flathead for the top cap screw works great.

Time flies when you're on the full bowl setting! After a month, zero regrets hopping on the MH bandwagon. Maybe I'm weird, but 435*F on the Wand seems to be the sweet spot for me. Some strains do okay around 480 but getting up to the 525 timer and it's just too toasty for my liking; no flavor. Sometimes I check this thread and wonder if I'm doing something wrong? V2 adapter depth is per MH recommendation.

The C tool doesn't get much use as I can get the screen right where I want it with only the condenser. Small bowl position has been used maybe once and the middle position has worked well for hash. It feels amazing in hand, the machining is quality (except maybe the VI grooves but I'm not tripping over that), and even cleaning it has been a lovely experience. A gray o-ring did deteriorate on day 1, likely due to user error while fitting it on a different stem, but you still don't like to see it.

The Tempest + Reload combo brings a ritualistic vibe to my consumption that's been missing since cutting joints and pipes out completely. My desktop ball vape is great, but it lacks soul in comparison. Very pleased, thanks MH!

My updated tempest v2 review:

After a week and about 1/8th run through this device I can say that I’ve come to really enjoy it. It’s become my daily driver. I really enjoy hitting it natively even though I do feel like the vapor does run a bit hot (I like that burn) as I can really pump out clouds more so than hitting it through glass.

Minor adjustments in depth in wand or heating temps have been a huge improvement. Either way V1 I wouldn’t/still haven’t wanted to really experiment with different ball mediums because of all the experimenting and playing around to get it the way you want it. With v2 I already feel almost encouraged to try different ball mediums because I know within a few bowls I can more or less dial it in.

Overall, I agree with many of the sentiments that this is truly an upgrade and I’d go as far to say different device, experience and vape signature.

That being said; in my experience so far, I do feel that v1 stands on its own and it will be missed.

To answer another question I saw “will my v1 still get use?” Absolutely. IMO v1 is more flavorful experience especially with the indirect tube. But in my long term usage I like others I’ve seen comment, it’ll likely become set in the half bowl and used as a flavor micro doser. 1. I’ve never been able to really consistently get full even extractions and 2. Imo half bowl settings are easy to dial in with v1.

PS… V2 head on V1 body with wooden sleeve (helix tube) might be a potential match for me! Increased flavor imo.

Question, is there a video or guide on removing the v1 wand adapter? Wondering how to go about that becasue I might replace the v1 adapter with the v2 adapter.

Also, can anyone compare the wand adapters? Any advantages to sticking the v1?

Btw thanks for all the opinions on the v1 vs the v2. I am going to keep my v1 standard to provide a slightly different signature and will pickup a v2 seperately. I appreciate ya'll helping me figure that one out.

My depth setting is identical to yours, but it‘s crazy how different the various wands are. My timeout message is in sync with the second click while using 200C (around 390F) as temp setting. Looks like sharing temp settings with each other seems useless. Appreciate the effort, thanks for the info.

Edit: just noticed you are using the T1 adapter with the wand. I am using the T2. That explains the difference with our temp settings. That clearly shows the efficiency of the new one.
