The Tempest by Mad Heaters & Phatpiggie

Any other differences other than it getting a bit warmer to the touch/more cooling :)?
It needs more regular cleaning than before, the previous stems get more claggy when using a bigger head like the T2, if it's cleaned daily it's not an issue, only takes a few seconds in that instance.

I'm sure I read further back, or on Reddit/somewhere else, that some people felt the T2 may be a bit harder hitting due to the more direct vapor path.
I'm not sure I'm convinced by that, I understand it, I've noticed there was less reclaim in the T2 stem than the T1 in the same space of time - 4 days, maybe suggesting I'm getting more out of it, but I'm still getting absolutely floored in the exact same way with the T1 stem + T2 head when I use my heavier night/sleeping strains.
Definitely worth a try.

Still LOVING the T2, it’s become me daily immediately!

Wondering if any one else with the pre-order unit has found there visual temperature indicator topping out at the second marker?

Mine seems to never go past that second mark even if I heat way longer than the typical time.

Here is @Brenyo 's reply to another customer who had that issue:
Sorry for the inconvenience, please try to unscrew the indicator housing and check if the outer end of the spring is in it’s place within the side wall.

It’s either what was quoted above, or more likely there is a burr at the second notch within the housing. Try to move the pointer with a pin manually to the end once, and that might fix it.

I might have missed it since this thread is huge now & I can't find anything concrete from a search at the moment, but I had a couple of questions:

1. Is there a recommended temp on the Wand with the V2 adapter for heating to the second click or is that not advised with the T2? I typically run my T1 at 780F with the V1 adapter & get both clicks before the time out & no need to reheat.

2. Do temps need to be adjusted for the T1 when using the V2 adapter given my heating method?

Thanks, guys. Looking forward to the test drive.

Do T2 owners that also own the T1 find themselves still using the T1?
I am likely going to pickup a full T2 unit and I'm debating on also buying an additional T2 head to attach to my T1 stem or just keeping the T1 unit intact and using both devices. I can't tell if I'll just have the T1 collecting dust if I don't also upgrade the head portion of that device. On the flipside, maybe it'd be good the keep the T1 intact and allow 2 slightly different vape signatures.

Idk, curious on peoples experience with this. Have owners of both found that they can coexist and both get usage? Or do you find yourselves gravitating towards the T2 over the T1?

My v1 is well cleaned until I get the upgrade kit. Then, i would use it like my v2 and beta: i use one, when it needs cleaning, I soak it on iso and start using the other one. “Cleaning rotation”?

Yes I am still using my ebony V1. I have for T2 set up with the full bowl & rubies. I swapped the 3 mm zirc balls into the V1, and set it up with the half bowl setting.

T1 is for MTL sessions, or when I want a microdose. Good for weeknights

T2 is for big DTL and bong hits. This one is used when I want to go to the moon 🚀🌙

The standard T1 is still amazing, but I'm definitely going to get the T1 upgrade kit when is available to give it the extra boost to catch up to it's big brother

I leave my t1 in the half bowl position for microdosing and my t2 in the full bowl position for bigger days and social vaping. I never had any complaints about the roast in the half bowl position and assumed most of the improvements were to get a more even roast in the full bowl position. What changes are you looking for by upgrading the half bowl t1? And what have you noticed with 3mm vs 2.5mm zirc in the t1?

After I received my temp test 2, it took less that 24 hours to fall in love. I immediately decided I needed a carry case and wanted a wooden sleeve. So I went to madheaters site to order the leather case and sleeve. To my dismay, the wood sleeves that I drooled over the day before were out of stock, but "factory seconds" were available. I ordered a black and a green wooden sleeve and a blue reload from the factory seconds page.

I received these two days ago. The items I received are all pretty perfect. Even under magnification, I haven't found anything that I would call a defect. Thank you @Brenyo !

I now have 3 reloads so I want to convert one of the large chambers to a mini tool kit. I will have a small container with screens and orings, a small 3d printed scoop / tamp tool, the C-shaped tool for setting screen height, and a small brush. I am going to remove the debowler for space.

Can anyone tell me the thread size of the debolwer in the reload? I need to plug the hole so anything in the chamber below stays below.

Thanks!

I don't have any issues with the T1 roast in half bowl or full bowl either. It's mainly the heat retention which is better on the T2. It just means I'll have a more leisurely MTL session

I'm also interested in the simplified VI installation. I'm a bit scared to open the V1 in case I mess up the spring. I might be over thinking this though 😁

It's been a while since I tried the 2.5mm zirc. I do like these but I noticed it takes a little longer than the 3mm before the thick vapour kicks in. This is not really an issue with MTL though

I keep wanting to run my T2 through glass, just because it has the built-in WPA. But I just love how it hits natively that I haven’t bothered yet. And it just feels great in the hands (that’s what she said). I really like the slightly heavier feeling weight it has to it.

I'm sure this has been mentioned before but I was really scared my Wand messed up because when I set up in a different spot than normal it just started flashing and not heating when I was trying to use my T2.

It took a few fails to realize I had set the wand on a metal surface that was conductive so it couldnt properly sense the Tempest head so it would time out saying no load.

Moving it to a wooden or plastic surface and boom it was acting like normal again.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who brain farts this stuff from time to time so figured I'd mention here.

I've been running my v2 at 545f in the v2 adapter. I get the 2nd click and then time out about 2 or 3 seconds after. Full bowl 1he. Im not 100% about ur 2nd point because I've been keeping different balls in my t1 head. My best guess is it would be similar.

Interesting, maybe I'll have to try 3mm balls in the t1, I have only tried the 2.5mm at this point. The faster vapor production has me curious. Good to know you use both as well, that sort of usage you described makes sense to me and I might go that route as well.

So I'm a tad confused, what is the difference between the upgrade kit and buying a t2 head? I'm assuming the upgrade kit is a little more of a manual process and is more involved. I'm also assuming it might not be an upgrade to the bowl size and is instead strictly an upgrade on the heater itself? I might have to consider an upgrade kit like you described. Otherwise I might just buy a t2 and keep my t1 as it is and just use both in different ways like you currently do.
