YES!!! Without vote-splitting, neither Trump nor Hitler would have ever gained power in the first place. Ranked-choice voting prevents it.

NYC has been down this road before. In 1936, over 60 percent of New York voters supported a similar system, proportional representation (PR) in a referendum. PR enabled New Yorkers to break the Tammany Hall power structure. But once they used the system to elect a Black Communist, the writing was on the wall for PR.

The USA at one point had 20+ cities and town with PR. The powers that be used racism and the Red Scare to rid the country of this 'scary' upgrade to democracy. The only place that kept it since the 40s? Cambridge, MA, which is how it got the moniker, The People's Republik of Cambridge. (also the name of a bar there, lol)

Recent years have seen a resurgence of election reform in the US. The first state to enact RCV statewide was Maine, soon followed by Alaska. Groups are popping up in cities and states all over the country, racing to get this reform at the local level, and eventually nationwide. Hopefully the IDF is too busy to continue playing Warsaw ghetto with starving Palestinians. Maybe the Orthodox zealots will figure out that it' is much easier, less expensive and much more rewarding to do the right thing in the long run.

Hopefully the Iranian people can re-start without the IRGC or Russian influence and have a chance to enjoy life.
