Always up for some science, what do you wanna know?
I'm in the honeymoon/testing phase, trying to find my favorite setup for it, so taking requests :D

I can tell you this for starters, in my opinion - without the cooling unit it is much different than a helix tube Tempest v1, but very similar to a direct tube Tempest v1. With the cooling unit it is more similar to the helix T1 and noticably different than direct T1.

If I was doing a blind Tempest draw test, v1 vs v2, I am pretty sure that I would not notice the difference... both perform very similarly and have that same signature.

Gotta say, the new adapter is the MVP though, it heats up faster and the batteries last longer - I am impressed.
Actually, this is great to know! It gives me some experimenting to try with the T1 while I wait... "patiently".

At no point leading up to the initial reviews was I expecting anyone to say this. Glad to hear that everything is well-engineered!

I received it thank you @Brenyo for all the little extras I also had trouble removing the screen that holds the balls after some heating I managed to remove it. Now they take off and put it back very easily, on the other hand it arrived with some micro scratches it doesn't matter but I like it when it's perfect 😁. I heat it to 740°F with the wand I wait for the light to stop flashing and for me it's perfect a single extraction in a single heat.

Hello hello,
first post - reader without account since a couple of months here.
Received my Tempest 2 and am blown away, like most of you.
Somehow there wasn’t the bigger black part of the new Wand adapter in my package, but it still works with the two „disks“ (black screw and white silicone) plus rubber.
Was wondering though if it would be good to have the other part to keep it more in place and to try out depth differences?
Also I noticed some melting on the silicon, anyone else?

Has anyone successfully changed out the balls in the tempest 2? I just tried to and my screw driver does seem to be working and I think I mean the hole bigger 😭😭😭

Ive received my Tempest and Im a happy man for today ☺😊
This thing is a beast, Ive had great results using a quad jet and also using the wand heated bowls until got drunk on it 🥴Did a truck hit me?For the time being Ive used the setting that the bowl was set default I believe to be 0.1
IMHO The stem performing its superior relative to vapour it( Ive used t1 head on t2 body) It gives you more vapour than the V1 body with same v1 head and and as somebody said earlier it's a trade off for the vapour heat even still smooth and dense smoke.
So fells good, looks good you get more vapour for longer time with less need for heat, less batteries consumption with the improvement of the new adapter that when I compare it to the dynavap adapter that I used to used I can go 30 or 40celcius lower.
Well Im fucking happy let me go and have a 🥣😶‍🌫️,
Madheaters Congrats again I was nearly thinking that the process was rushed and pushed to simplify but I can see the reasons behind now 😉
The locked setting on this one for the time being I would say that is different than the v1 and It doesn't mean better or worse.

I've had my T2 just over a fortnight now and have only used my T1 a couple of times since (for science).

The T2 wins the 'grab test' because it consistently out performs everything else I own from an efficiency/ production pov. Dialled right up this thing is a monster; the only downsides being to my tolerance and that I have burnt (scalded?) (cooked?!) my tongue a couple of times now and probably could use some external cooling.

Any recommendations for DURABLE cooling options? Ideally DRY and not glass as I can't be trusted.

TIA

Ceramic bong, much heavier and more durable than glass.

Wubba Lubba dub-dub
So today I felt adventurous and wanted to try out my rubies. Went to Madheaters page, check the data:

Density: 4 g/cm³
Thermal conductivity: 35 W/m•K
Cap filling weight: 2.8 g

Filled 2.8g but it is too much it seems... no way for the screen to enter the grooves. Anybody know the correct filling weight? like is it 2.70 or 2.65? how much did you put if you suceeded?

EDIT: ok made it, but it is like 2.5g filling weight if I measured correctly. seems tight I hope it stays so during heatup :D

after a few days with the V2 i feel it should have been called TempestXL!
I wouldnt have expected it to be that different.
its XL in chamber/airflow/heat retention and slaps XL.
using the V1 now feels like grabbing for the more gentle vape option, so i like how it fills a diffent spot.

the new wand adapter might be ugly but performs so well. i use both at maybe 250c for the same results as the old 290c standard.

still hyped for the v1 upgrade kit and the wood stems.
//edit/cant add pictures anymore :uhoh:

As a v1 user it is nice to hear that many people consider the v2 to be mainly different and not straight up better. Makes it easier to ignore that VAS for a few more months!

The IH sleeve is thicker, 12.8mm diameter.

It'll be way easier with a proper screwdriver. I might get a slightly looser screen later on, but it's easy to unlock with a normal screwdriver and I wanted to make sure that it won't come undone.

Sadly I am too dumb to image how that would look on the tempest.

The head is better in my opinion. Since I've been comparing them I reach for the T2 now.
The T1 is still a great unit, I still love using it, but I'm getting better effects/results out of the new head unit with less material so far in my experience.

General Disaster

Stationary momentum!
Gonna be a glorious day when we all get our hands on your wood
Oo-er missus! 😳

The head is better in my opinion.
(So a hand job doesn't cut it then? 😊)

This is also (imho) why comparisons of the stems aren't all that helpful, the v2 stem is having to deal with much more heat. Be interesting to try the v1 head and bowl on the v2 stem.
I agree about the t2 and I reckon the more power available the better and more even the extraction (all other things being equal). Sometimes, not being able to smell/taste it, I get so much vapour I think it's starting to combust, only to find almost green avb!!! (on t2)
