Bodged together a stand for the zx from a CH stand and a reducer or chopped downstem.
In my case I cut the downstem so I had just the top. As this was a slightly loose fit I wrapped with PTFE/teflon tape to create a snug fit. Note: I have 3 Ch stands and all had a different id so be aware when fitting the glass.
Seems to work fine.
My only concerns are:
Thermal expansion of 3 different materials. I don't want the zx head to crack. So far no sticking of zx to glass. Slides out easy.
PTFE tape over heating. Safe op temp is advertised as 500f, which is what I have my pid at. But that is the coil temp, and not how hot the head gets. Using my infrared thermometer the hottest part of the glass interface is 200f and the Ch stand doesn't get hotter than 100f so I think the PTFE tape is fine.
Been using a few days now and no issues so far with sticking head or smells from PTFE tape.

I have the one from CH for the flowerpot that have a 2.9cm ID and the "new" one for the injector with more or less 1.8cm ID

Heads up Z Team, the 2025 ZXL is still available for preorder right now and I've been optimistic to see the tide turn, but as of right now we're not even close to our small goal so there's a pretty good chance this will get pulled down. Gonna run it through the weekend and see if anything picks up but as of now it is what it is.
I realize posting this would likely make people even more skeptical to place a preorder but transparency matters and this is the current state of things.
ZX sales have been getting hit super hard lately too so I appreciate everyone supporting the original gemstone ball vape
ZX's and 3 shelf bowls are on order and set for delivery next month.

I apologize for the extended delays but I would much rather send out something we're all happy with than fumble at the 1 yard line.
Working on new stuff as always -wireless stand is now looking really cool, I spent yesterday redesigning it for better aesthetics and I'm pretty stoked on this one. Just waiting on a revised price quote on that and if it fits within my scope I'll make a new thread for those since its fits a larger scope of uses than my normal product line.
Also I've been cueing up a new full ceramic TED design based on my PHASE3 ELEMENT to try and hit an accessible price point while also hitting a number of feature points. The idea is to simplify the concept and design to the lowest common denominator to keep costs down and just try to do something that performs well that anybody can get ahold of.

That's exactly what I did was convert it to a more open 8MM ecosystem.
The heater and stem are now two different parts which brings up some cool possibilities working with different materials thermal properties or mixing and matching with other equipment.
Cooling could be further increased with an optional part.
I think this one could be pretty compelling for my hash enthusiasts as well

element-ish 8mm vape - yes please. I really like the TED form factor and really wanted the ceramo to be what I imagine a full ceramic TED could be - I would love to see what you come up with in that space.

@invertedisdead hey I got a quick question. I tried to search through the pages here but did not have much luck. If I recall correctly you now use 8MM ruby balls in your ZX right? If you’re not using the stock balls, could you let me know what you’re using now and the approximate amount of balls? My goal is to have a slower temp ramp up but not so much so that I still can’t finish it in one hit on the top screen.

YES! I should have more than enough of the new 3 shelf bowls for anyone waiting to grab one.
The biggest hurdle with offering a next level TED is lack of capital to develop it properly. To this day PHASE3 still has zero retailer support and minimal brand exposure which prevents me from developing and releasing a lot of game changing ideas.
But the ideas and theory are definitely there - If there was truly enough interest and people believed in the concepts we could sell developmental models for fair prices to try and get the model/s launched.
I use a [modified] 3MM sapphire in my personal ZX (not gem cuts)
There was a time where I had 6MM sapphires in my Z8 but it’s currently filled with the same 3MM sapphires as my ZX.
If you want to slow the ramp up I’d recommend larger ruby/ sapphire gems, probably in the 4-6MM range. Anything larger than 6MM probably won’t fit well, 6MM makes a nice pack and the flow is very open.
Naughty secrets - Not in the ZX specifically, but I’ve used literally everything - from mesh screens to crumbled up balls of aluminum foil while testing and developing this whole modern ball vape model lol.
I totally understand friend and please believe me I don't want to run preorders for nothing myself either, but realistically it's incredibly hard to truly gauge interest in a product as a small craft developer.
Potentially if ZXL supporters are interested I could extend the preorder period to try and build up more preorders, but realistically PHASE3 cannot continue to offer products with such low order volume. With two bowl options on the ZXL it's even more important that the "juice is worth the squeeze."
The ZXL is already priced lower than a bunch of metal competitors, so realistically we're getting pushed out super hard due to lack of exposure at this point. That, or most shoppers simply don't see value in what I'm doing - and that's hard to admit, especially with the stellar rapport and outstanding reviews the Z's bring in. But I have to accept there could be truth to that.
As always I appreciate everyones input and thank you all kindly for following along and supporting the vision.

IMO the market has shifted to wireless. Check out latest releases, W.O.H.W. IO Hornet, Universal Baller all wireless or can be used wirelessly. If you ever manage to release that ZXXL( one year anniversary since I preordered mine coming up on the 30th) you’ll probably start getting more requests than you know what to do with.
