Anyone ever combine multiple vapes together in one session to produce a desired signature?

I have to confess – every once in a while, I go a couple days where I primarily smoke joints, and every time I can't help but get this nagging thought that maybe, after all the money and time I've spent on vapes, maybe I still prefer the high from smoking joints over any other consumption method.

This thought overwhelms me with dread. I'm being dramatic, obviously, but I am genuinely annoyed by the possibility that I prefer the signature of smoking a joint over any single device I own. And for me, especially in recent years as I've transitioned to microdosing, signature has become my primary criteria for evaluating vapes, over flavor and cloud production.

But all of this also makes me wonder: even if I prefer the signature of a joint to any single device of mine, maybe there's a way that I can approximate the feeling a joint by using multiple devices in rapid succession. I say rapid succession because I believe that I feel the signature of a given consumption method most profoundly at the initial onset, and so the goal here would be to create one single hybrid signature, rather than layer signatures.

I don't really see much discussion on FC about pairing specific vapes together in a single session to bring out the best signature, but there might be some real untapped potential there.

So with all this in mind I wanted to ask the class: how would you describe the signature from a joint, on the scales from conduction to convection, stony to heady, dark to bright, and mellow to euphoric? For me a joint feels closest to hybrid vapes, but with an extra bit of bite and euphoria.

Do you have any thoughts on devices you could pair together to replicate that feeling? Also just curious if there are any vapes you all think complement each other really well in a single session.

My current theory is that if I hit a more conduction-heavy hybrid, and then top it off with some light convection, I'll be able to get close to the feeling of a joint. My friend has a Prrl Labs Neo I'm waiting to borrow – I tried it once a month or so back, and for some reason I have this feeling that it'll be be just the convection device I need to give my high that extra bit of bite and euphoria.

That used to be popular back in the day on FC, we used to call it a "gauntlet"

I would be interested in something like this. I know there are several of us on this forum that have several different products to try and compare a side by side comparison would be great. And of course I love the Primus song "Running the Gauntlet". And if I may add this quote from the lyrics of the song.

And what are you hoping to see?
Would it set you back if I drop to my knees?

As one of those weird Europeans I’ve been smoking my joints with tobacco, which makes it hitting harder aka fucking you up. This combined with the addiction potential of nicotine gave me a hard time converting to vaping. I often had the feeling of not getting high enough. Stoney conduction devices were a good start, but combining multiple devices was the key.

Now that I stopped smoking completely, I still use at least 2-3 devices at once. Each gives me a different high, combining them makes a more complex one. Not stoned enough? Add a little bit of Anvil. Not high enough? Tempest to the mix. Just more? Tornado! And if I want to take my time, I enjoy a Mighty bowl. For me this makes the effects as well as the ritual superior to joints.

I consider vaporizers as instruments. The more different ones you play, the richer the sound of the orchestra will be. Play one instrument ten times and it’ll only be louder.

I like playing with multiple vapes at once (I have a few pics but still haven't found a spot I like to post them yet since VaporAsylum shut:(), I have a few different cleisen adapters to make Christmas tree type sessions...that I usually cannot remember...ball vapes mate well with dabs too instead of just twaxing.

It is a common Aussie habit too, I was a 30 spliff a day man for decades...2 and a 1/2 papers each, about half and half mix:puke:

I definitely think of my vapes as instruments as well – in addition to what you're describing in terms of orchestrating a polyphonic high, there's also just the craftsmanship of many of these devices, which really does evoke a spirit similar to handcrafted musical instruments. In terms of the overarching experience I really do think dry herb vaping is the richest and deepest, dare I say most aesthetic, consumption method. Otherwise we'd run out of things to talk about on this forum haha

Vapbong + Dynavap. The Vapbong can be so heady I sometimes can't tell how high I am. Add a little Dynavap conduction and BAM! I'm out of my gourd.

That's a fun pairing. In my mind the Dynavap is the most toy-like of all the vapes (which isn't a slight), whereas the Vapbong is arguably the single most bespoke vape out there. It's all about high and low baby

Really interesting! What benefits / differences do you get by separating them out?

Dabs can be less snoozy for me, so good in the morning, mix more in the arvo/night and herb to finish before sleep. This can always change depending on needs...low temp herb is great if I get the dab jitters from overdoing it at times and for just staying 'topped up' throughout the day.
Mixing was more of a concern when I only had access to one strain for years at a time as it helped a bit with tolerance problems, now I have access to many strains through medical laws in Oz anything goes.
