Arizer XQ2

I'm interested in this table vaporizer, but I find it strange that there aren't enough posts in this forum.
I have a Solo 3 and wanted to get a vaporizer for home.
I actually wanted a TM2, but I think the price is a bit high and I think as a solo 3 user I don't necessarily have to have a TM2.
Can you say that XQ2 hits a little harder than Solo 3

Absolutely not, solo 3 is definitely better imho
If you want something desktop I suggest you go for a Ball vape, there are also interesting cheap options on AliExpress if you are European.

XQ2 can be a right solution if for you balloons are a good way of consumption otherwise I don't see the point, you would end up using more the solo 3 than XQ2

XQ2 need time to heat up properly. When I use it I usually load it and let it heat up for at least 15 minutes and in any case the amount of vapour is not comparable with solo 3

Look at the old extreme q and v tower threads, those were around much longer than the XQ2 so there's a lot more user reports for that, they are not the most well-regarded... Probably why not many people were interested in XQ2 by the time it came out, sure it's better and an upgrade, but still not much different tech or design nothing innovative really... I think most people today would actually prefer S3 and yeah actually I think the TM2 would easily replace the XQ2 for most people since it has more power like desktop and versatility (as I said previously I find it much different from S3 and prefer TM2, but a bit off topic in this thread now)

I'd also suggest you check out log vapes if you want a simple plug in option with pure convection to go with S3, if not others too

100% This ^

I have an XQ2, a TM2 and, a log. The TM2 easily replaces the XQ2 in my rotation so much that I put it away and then offered it to @Vitolo so someone might get use out of it. I still use the log regularly (daily driver) along with the TM2 (bedside table, out and about etc) but I never find myself wanting the XQ2. I showed my next door neighbor how to use it and she did not care for the experience at all, even considering she was wanting to try a balloon vape. She really preferred a log.

My favorite thing with the XQ2 is simply its fast heat up and how easy it is to turn on/off.

Would like to get a Solo 3 for my Arizer device.

I replaced it with solo 3 and it's worth it.
I gave my XQ2 to a friend

I just wanted to remind people that these things, and the older EQ, are great for drying your glass off after a clean ... Don't give them away, they are priceless for that purpose imo!
I tried to use it even like this...but honestly I don't find the point...it takes a long time in any case and even if I'm not in all this hurry to dry my pieces of water...why waste energy and have a drying station when you just have to put them on the sink and wait a few hours??? Then having at least two pieces you can wash them and use them in rotation...much more practical imo

I had this for a couple months and got rid of it. The issue with me was that the bags became sticky and gross quite fast at my vape level, and so did the whip. It made vaping taste terrible very quickly. Having to constantly replace terrible tasting bags is not what I envision for a proper desktop vape.

yup, in my case cleaning or buying new whips was simply not pleasant. and I think this goes for any vapes that use whipes or bags.

Hm, this was my first vaporizer and it wasn't necessarily a good choice ... Had to learn how to run it from YT videos. Lot of thin vapor usually, with the feeling you were wasting the stuff. Not ideal for me. By the time it's well fired up, it would be great for a group, or using bags, which I don't.

Worse, I have to admit, despite an obvious focus on quality, mine arrived with a cracked/broken glass ... heater cover, I think it was. They did send out a new part free, and the dis-and-reassembly wasn't that bad.

Sorry, long multipart post due to media limits. Hope this is okay!

So, a little baked and randomly browsing around, I ran into this thread and just had to dust off my XQ2! I think the whole line of Arizer desktops have been overlooked (rightfully so in stock form), and Arizer could completely turn it around with just 2 dead simple glass pieces. Hey Arizer! If you're reading this, consider this a gift to making a Canadian company stronger! 2 additional glass pieces and some plumbing to make your desktops a one hitter champ! You can take all of the below, put a ground joint where the grommet goes for an all glass solution, and Bob's your uncle!

At the end of the day, we have a heat source that sits too far away from the material, and a chamber that's way too big for small doses. Not terrible if you like to load up a big bowl for long sessions that heat soaks the bowl. And technically, you can use it just like an 18mm log vape, but I doubt you really want to balance an XQ2 upside down above your glass piece in an 18mm injector bowl (yes, I've tried, it works, but don't). So, for a proper one hitter roast, try the following:

Get a hold of:

  1. Stock heat protector grip.
  2. An 18mm female to 18mm female adapter. It needs to be fairly short, and must allow a full 16mm pass through. Basically, you want to fit a Tinymight stem in there.
  3. A 20mm pipe screen.
  4. A Tinymight 18mm WPA adapter if you want to use basket screens. Substitute in the 14mm WPA adapter if you don't want to use a basket screen as they usually have a built in glass filter.
  5. A small hookah grommet (eg. https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B09GPSBLYM).
  6. (OPTIONAL) A 16x1.9 or similar high temp o-ring to help get a better seal between the glass stem and basket screen. Not really required, especially for the 14mm adapter.
  7. 1/2 inch basket screens. (eg. https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B09VP95PF9).

Get the screen into one side of the 18mm adapter. You want to push it right to the end of (but on) the ground portion. Basically far enough so that you can insert it into your XQ2 without the screen interferring. It should be as close to the heater as possible. You'll never need to touch it again.

Combine:

Move the grommet up or down to get the end of the WPA a few mm away from the screen when inserted. When on the XQ2, my basket screen is maybe 5mm from the heater :

Inhale from the WPA joint end to load your bowl. Make absolutely sure the basket screen is in place. If not, a whole new type of coughing will ensue, or so I've heard. I like to use the inhale method, brush away some and get it level with the edge nice and loose.

Pack it down so it stays put. This loose pack should come in under .1g with a medium grind and hydrated bud:

The rest is up to you. You can pull directly from a whip, run it through a bubbler, put a mouthpiece on and pull directly, or even put on an 18mm hydrotube. Here's a sample though a bubbler and the resultant AVB at 210c. Remember, this thing goes to 260c so there's tremendous room to go up. I do old school hash at about 230c, and some concentrates right up at the 260c limit. With the material about 5mm away from the end of the heater, it's enough to vape almost anything. Way more than needed to combust flower.

Yes, the XQ2 can easily do one hitters. If Arizer so chooses, all the above can be done with 2 additional properly sized mass producable glass pieces that they can include and maintain compatability with all their other accessories (like whips and mouthpieces). Or you can throw it together like above. Or come up with another way to get your flower a bit closer to the heater.
