I have used Unity and it is very nice but also sucks (like most software tools). I moved away from it because I am used to using open source tools and Unity seemed precarious. But I also did not build a blockbuster lil game either. So the joke is probably on me.

Here is hoping that all the pissed offstudios go in for Godot (or whatever) support. Also fuck Unity and their owners.

that reminds me, a bit, when we were younger (like 20 years ago i think) we were playing Worms in some friend's house, many people, and we knew that in some cases if you click "Enter" you will be jumping into the water. a friend was standing behind me, when i was trying to focus, and then was yelling like "Enter!! Enter!!" and I clicked.... and it was so hilarious the way he said that to be also convincing and "helping"... good ole' times

God I had this classmate. He’d rag on my MacBook for not being powerful or user upgradable enough, then he’d brag about his 15lb lenovo with hotswappable zfs drives and a whopping 2 whole hours of battery life. Never was able to convince him that my laptop was used pretty much exclusively for the battery life, and if I really needed more power I had a desktop at home for the very demanding FizzBuzz assignments we’d get in school.

I was a Macbook user from the early 2000's to 2020. Bought a gaming laptop on a whim during Covid to replace my aging Mac.

Newer gaming laptops weigh about as much as Macbook Pro's. But the battery life gulf could not be larger with the release of Apple's ARM chips. I generally get about 7 hours of battery. It's more than enough but a 16 inch Macbook Pro can last like 20 hours, lol.

It would be nice if Apple could put out a gaming laptop. I agree they make superior hardware. But I need something that can run AAA games so I'm sticking with Windows gaming laptops for the foreseeable future.

I game on consoles mostly, and not nearly as much on my computer (I do have a bit of a steam library that I occasionally dive into though). SO, for everything else I use my computer for I've been pretty happy using Macs and iPhones for the last fifteen years or so.

Yeah, the battery life for arm devices is insane! My most recent mac was from the last gen of intel macs and that poor thing tries its best but it gets SO hot just running chrome, never mind something more intensive.

Was really hoping that the Steam deck and Valve’s push for Proton would’ve made it easier to develop platform independent games, but looks like most devs just have written off macOS.

Basically same, I occasionally pick up pc games still, but nowadays I use my mac/phone for most everything, then game on my PS5/Switch. I’m not sure if I’ll replace my PC when it finally dies, it’s already 5 years old and starting to show its age

Essentially all the people who cared about the world building moved on to other things, and the company’s priorities shifted from making compelling games to monetisation. Also all the harassment didn’t help.

I accidentally purchased an EU Steam key for Rollerdrome, which is pretty cool.
I got an AU code after I realised my mistake, it's intense but fun gameplay. Quite a bit to deal wlth when baked but I've enjoyed a couple of rounds now. Cool art style too.
