PHASE3
Manufacturer
Hopefully soon a zircon ceramic bowl will be available for the ZX.
But if you want a phase3 compatible metal bowl, O'Connell will soon offer their SS bowl for 14mm injectors.
I'll take one for my SX šŸ˜‹

I would not personally recommend pairing zirconia parts with any metal parts that are going to see repeated mating. I see another company promoting this and I'm a bit shocked over it to be honest, but as a manufacturer unfortunately I'm not really allowed to speak out about this kind of stuff anymore.

The SX on the other hand would have no problems being paired with a bowl of similar metal composition.

I am so glad I jumped on the ZX train! Compared to my other ball vapes, I find the ZX to be more efficient and smooth while still delivering monster clouds.

That's what I love to hear!! That was definitely the design goal so I'm always pleased to see people enjoying it as it was intended!

It's funny, I have a bunch of different 14mm bowls and adapters for use with my phase3 vapes and couchlog. The best one for the SX/ZX is certainly the Phase3 bowl.

I have found that I am getting better results out of my SX than my ZX. And I finally decided it is because the SX makes a better seal on the bowl. Still experimenting, but I was surprised by that result.

That's interesting to read as it's the same dimensions and held to the same tolerances!
Have you tried a 14/20 bowl that allows the ZX to sit all the way down by any chance? New PHASE3 bowls will be switching to that - not this next incoming batch, but the following batch. They are slightly more expensive but it will look a little cleaner.

I've considered doing more SX's as my local manufacturer just asked about it the other day, but to be honest I didn't really make anything on them so I'm not sure it's worth offering them. It's been fairly challenging to turn a profit on any of this stuff once it's all said and done. I mean sales come in, and products go out - and it all seems very real - but there's never really anything left in the end. My brand is still far too small and unknown to make up for it with sales volume; and the profit margins are already challenged trying to compete with so many similar products. I mean I'm physically, mentally, and emotionally all-in here, but I still wonder about the sustainability. Maybe I'm just too hard on myself - things are growing... I think.

Sometimes business is looking up and other times it just all seems so overwhelming. I'm trying to get converted over to a "high risk" merchant account so I don't have to deal with being shut down, but with that comes a plurality of increased processing fees just to allow transactions to occur. :\ I'm just not totally sure when the "fog" will clear. I remain optimistic though. This entire brand is a self reflection and personal test to see if I can actually follow something all the way through, so I'm not really going anywhere, this is all progression for me as a person, but at the same time, I just don't know.

A discovery that concludes the fact that a black zircon ceramic bowl perfectly compatible with the ZX is essential šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

Those are actually coming up next, I've been working out the details for quite some time with my manufacturer. I just need to sell thru this current batch of ZX's.

I hope to eventually offer a fully compiled and optimized ZX kit - that's my goal for the current time period. Once that is complete, I can begin working on other new and innovative products.

Yes we have already discussed it šŸ˜„. I am waiting for this bowl to buy the ZX at the same time to limit the costs.
Because if I buy the two separately I would have to pay customs fees twice .
So I can't wait to see you offer the ZX and the compatible ceramic bowl.
I plan to use my SX with the O'Connell bowl.
The competition is copying you and that's a sign that you're the best in the game.
Personally, I hear good feedback from people who have bought your products, or who want to buy them.
So in my opinion you have a bright future in this industry if you keep holding on šŸ’Ŗ

There's a good argument for focusing on the Zs, I think, especially if they're profitable. They're really something special, so I appreciate that you've weathered all it's taken to get them to us and whatever it will take to keep them going out to people. Could the SXs be offered on a signup basis, offered once the list fills to whatever number is reasonable for a run? I'd drop 'em if they're too costly, but they sure turned out nice. Be cool if a run popped up every once in awhile, but there's no sense losing money on them.

In the United States in many states cannabis is legal.
Why not set up the cheapest possible kit (pid and Chinese coil ect) and sell them in tobacconists to try to attract customers who want to stop burning.
You have so many possibilities there

Is that because of potential damage to the ceramic head?

Great idea. I'll fiddle around with my adapters. All of my 14mm bowls sit the ZX/SX right on the little shelf at the bottom of the head. But I think I can see if a modified adapter helps. You bowl is really absolutely perfect with the SX and works great with the ZX so I had not thought about trying to improve it more. It could just be there is some other variable I haven't considered. The ZX is great and I recommend it to everyone. It's just that my SX performs a little bit better. I really can't explain it but having two great vapes is a good problem to have.

Yeah, I can understand focusing on the Z series. I think that's what people want and if the ZX had existed when I bought my SX, I would have only bought that. Anyway, you know your business better than I ever could so I look forward to your future plans.

Wish you'd go into more detail on this... I think you can safely make recommendations on your own product without bringing any other manufacturers into it? I don't wanna do anything to put my zx at risk :ugh:

I'm no manufacturer nor vendor, but once you have your final design and got it on production, is it really more work to keep both products (SX and ZX)? Because having a premium and a budget option is a classical market trick, it helps to attract customers with budget option and it improves the shine of the premium one. And as long as the customers are happy with both options (as I read from those who have both items), that's all good.

But again, offering a bundle (injector, bowl, coil and PID) would be a banger, the main reason I jumped the ZX train was because I already had a controller collecting dust in the drawer. Here on FC most of the people already have parts of that stuff or already know where to find, but in the outer world, it gets more complicated. I can see that around me, when I try to convert people to vaping rosin with my banger and torch, those who make the jump end up with an all-in-one device like Carta because while more expensive and less efficient, it's just easier and less intimidating.

Sorry, I'm giving you advices like I'm a marketing expert, but I don't know no shit about all that, it's just some rant about what I see around me šŸ˜Š

Hey Everyone!

First post on FC. Pops and I are now part of the Z fam. We have a ZX coming Saturday! Super stoked.

Weā€™ve decided on two bowl versions for our upcoming Z Bowl (Name Pending, taking suggestions!) it will be based off the stem size.

14mm Stem - 3/8ā€ screen - Micro dose experience. Holds .1 more restricted air flow.

18mm Stem - 1/2ā€ screen - Offers more load and more airflow.

This is due to retaining more wood with the 18mm stem.

I hope to be able to demo both Sunday with our new setup and have some 18mm stock available as well.

Thank you all for the wonderful comments and support youā€™ve given us. Glad to be here!

Well Iā€™ve had only a few days with my ZX but I can already say that itā€™s my new favorite coil/PID style vape. It somehow manages to taste better than the Q, while also being smoother and easier on the throat. I think this is because the ZX produces a better vapor to air ratio, and I suspect tied to the smaller 14mm diameter. Whatever the case, itā€™s fantastic.

This is going to be really good for sharing with friends. each person can get their own bowl to crush

Edit: probably goes without saying, but clouds are off the charts, roast is super even. Itā€™ll be fun to try different bowl setups

This sounds like the issue that frustrated lots of early adopters of the Prrl Labs Neo. Many of us were excited about using it with our existing glass, but it didnā€™t work well with an imperfect seal. IMHO it was a misstep for Prrl not to sell an affordable bowl that made a good seal from the first drop.

Will it sit low enough that you donā€™t have to keep a hand on the injector the whole time? Iā€™m jealous of the OConner TKO users for their ability to vape hands free.

To be clear, I am referring to the bowl from phase3. It is fantastic with the SX. I'm kind of grasping at straws. I really want to love my ZX as much as my SX. So I am trying bowl changes, draw speed, temps, switching coils. So far it's just not as satisfying or even as tasty as the SX. The ZX is a great vape, but I must have got a magic SX. I am thinking next I will open them up and count the rubies.

I leave both my SX and ZX on the bowl regularly and just pull the carb plug. Does your bowl not hold it securely? I wouldn't leave the room or anything but mine sometimes gets stuck in the bowl a bit even.

No it doesnā€™t, but I donā€™t have a Phase3 bowl. Source for your bowl?

My Zx does the same on my Chinese adapter. It seats just a few mm under the "ridge". It can get stuck without the seal being perfectly stable but it vapes great at quite low temps so no seal issue for me.

Very excited to try this out. I grabbed the 18mm olive, so Iā€™ll post my thoughts later on. The bowl is still my least favorite thing of the Z/SX so Iā€™m looking forward to this option.

E: hey awesome, I ordered late lastnight as I was going to bed, and USPS already has my item in hand, not a pre-shipping label created email.

I don't have anywhere else to go

Yes, something like that could be done - especially once my payment processor is converted over.
The limitations I've been dealing with have made it hard to grow the brand so hopefully I'll be able to start doing stuff like that. Truthfully many new products I'm seeing remind me of things I did years ago, so I want to be able to start offering some of these other things I've worked on for a while. Still, my main goal for right now is to complete this ZX line, but I've been toying with ways to bring the Electric Sandcastle back!

In the United States in many states cannabis is legal.

Honestly I don't think low prices are enough to attract people, affordable vapes have been around for years.
It's not really my model to be the lowest price around, while compelling in some regards, I hope to add value in other ways than just price. The fuel efficiency of these P3 vapes starts saving money instantly on expensive herb compared to a lot of stuff out there, I think that's worth more over time than just a lower cost of entry.

I may be very wrong here, but I don't really anticipate the target audience for something like this as being a first time vape buyer. I imagine most have gone through a few portables or at least a Dyna or two before stepping up to something like this. It's a challenge to truly relay to less experienced enthusiasts how different the vapor quality can be with a high end heavy hitter compared to some of the devices they may be used to and already enjoy.

Is that because of potential damage to the ceramic head?

The ceramic should be fine as it's extremely hard, though because of that high hardness ideally it would be best for it to not be grinding against metal. These housings are all machined with diamond tooling as it's the only material that is harder. But ultimately it's probably not that big of a deal in the midst of the world we live in lol.

Yeah, I can understand focusing on the Z series. I think that's what people want and if the ZX had existed when I bought my SX, I would have only bought that. Anyway, you know your business better than I ever could so I look forward to your future plans.

Well I really appreciate your kind comments and your continued support!
I'd be open to doing more SX's if the interest was there, more Z8's as well - but getting this ZX line completed is something I really want to see through.

Love my SX as well, been hitting it nearing exclusively.

Stoked to hear you're still rocking with us!!

Please check my reply a few sentences above - in short I can't imagine the ZX being harmed, it's a very tough and durable product - you might not want to heat it with a blowtorch though!

Most certainly would be down for a special preorder/group of ceramic bowlz and/or SX.

Set a limit that make$ you happy and cut it off. Do these like Lamart drops. Should drive both new and repeat customers.

Noted! Thanks for your input, it really helps a lot!

Well it's not necessarily too much work, but it just creates more products to source and commit funds to which could be used to develop or fund other ideas instead. Also I would have to outsource the SX production to make it more affordable, as currently the price is very similar to the ZX. I feel like a lot of people are easily overwhelmed by all the options in this space these days so I'm hoping to go for a more streamlined and limited approach, like a food truck. I want to continue to evolve a very small and distinct collection of great products rather than offer a very large product line like a warehouse store.

Yeah people definitely resonate more with all-in-one well polished products, stuff that fits the more traditional "consumer product" market. These devices here are definitely still more targeted at the connoisseur / serious enthusiast demographic. Consumer products are the most expensive to develop to get all the nice finishing and fancy retail boxes but it would be a fun challenge to do something like that if I could ever get that far. I've got a few fun desktop ideas I've been playing with for a while to get into that territory.

Thanks so much for hopping on board the Z Train, we're really stoked to have you rocking with us!!

It looks like all those Z bowls on your website already sold out, I guess you're gonna have to make some more ;)

Absolute milked out crushers from the FC-OG legend himself!! Love seeing all the stellar content from everybody, that stuff helps me out a whole lot! Also, I'm really digging that @Ed's TnT shorty handle too, maybe we should get a batch of those in our store!?!?

:rockon:love hearing it, thanks so much for your support my man! So glad to hear how much everyone is digging the ZX! I definitely think these are smoother, I call it "residual recycling" - see what happens is not every molecule of heated air makes contact with the plant material. With a larger diameter vape and a shallow bowl for one hitters, some of this hot air bypasses the material entirely and still ends up in your airstream, but without performing any meaningful extraction. The idea is I'm recycling some of that otherwise wasted hot air by leveraging a deeper bowl rather than a wider bowl.

Will it sit low enough that you donā€™t have to keep a hand on the injector the whole time? Iā€™m jealous of the OConner TKO users for their ability to vape hands free.

So far it's just not as satisfying or even as tasty as the SX

I still find it interesting, but I really can't fault you in any way for preferring one of my other products :D
Another customer told me they thought their Z8 hit harder than their ZX.

I still suspect coil fitment could be a variable, but you mentioned different coils - perhaps the SX is dumping more heat into the bowl, and you prefer it? My Sandcastle Vapor Wand for example heats the bowl up a lot, but it provides a super robust extraction in return.

Let's see that bad boy when you get it in and ripping! :brow:

The wand chooses the wizard. ; )

All three are at least a little magical.

That was great  this is the kind of marketing material that I truly need!!!

Oi! Now this is exciting!

I've been rocking the torched version and it's such an absolute slammer, I'm tempted to build up the electric version again. The original ESC was only for the 18mm SCVW though, I'd like to continue my progression and now get the 14MM Sandcastle Junior electrified! Potentially I could put a design together and throw it up on my website to see if there's enough interest.

Well that's all for right now, sorry it took me a few days to reply here, I always see the messages and comments pretty quickly, but ever since becoming a manufacturer I overthink a lot about what I'm writing and it ends up taking me days to finish a post.

DC electronics should be here today or tomorrow, any orders waiting on those will go out as soon as they land and get sorted/assembled. Got a big batch of glass bowls in last week so there's plenty of those in stock, likewise ZX's are shipping out immediately and as soon as the electronics land we will be completely in stock with no pre-order delays, so that's kind of exciting! Thanks again to everyone rocking with us and supporting the vision, your comments are all appreciated and I thank you for the opportunity to create these products!

Thanks all and have a stellar week! As always reach out whenever and wherever if I can help with anything!

I have two ZX's plus two PID's and found out I only need one and one only. The ZX is self cleaning. No need to soak the ZX in ISO whatsoever. I also use a waterless glass vapor bong. And just the air space in the bong cools the vapor down even at 600 degrees Fahrenheit. Which I don't go any higher than that unless I throw a dab on top of the herb. The vapor quality is spot on. And yes the @Ed's TnT handle really makes ZX easier to lift off the 14mm herb chamber to clear the vapor. Here is my latest video. https://streamable.com/dq2iah

 LLLLETā€™S GOOOOO PHASETHRRRREEEEEE! THREEEEE! REEEE!

If youā€™re wondering what the bit at the end is, itā€™s the outrageous echo effect of every gravelly-voiced advertisement for every rock and metal concert, every monster-truck pull, every demolition derby (ā€œat the county fairgrounds!ā€) and local muffler shop on pretty much every AM & FM radio station throughout 70s-80s America.
Why did all these independently-owned stations across the nation choose to use this audio effect so heavily?
Because itā€™s BADASS. Thatā€™s it. Simply because it is badass.

Just like the line-up from the good folks at Phase3! Whether you scoop an SX, ZX or Z8 - its gonna be badass. So go on and treat yourself to the original ball vape from the innovator, not the imitators. Youā€™re worth it, you badass!
