Vape swap shop

Just ran some CBD through this old thing from 05 or 06, still works(not well mind you). Max temp is 400 and I never purchased the rechargeable battery for it.

This was my very first vape and then I was in and out of the game for a decade plus after that. Pretty awesome how far vaping has progressed over the years.

This was my first vape as well. Never worked very well for me as it had so many air leaks.

Seeing this brandname reminded me that i bought it's predecessor (?) years ago. We knew nothing about vaporizing but hey, sounded like a nice alternative way to enjoy the herbs.
Bought it together with a friend. First try we were very stoked and curious, loaded up the huge bowl and gave it a go. Little did we know about vaping temperatures, temp stepping.
It made some noice while heating up and once hot you could +/- the heat and to start vaping you'd press the fire button. That activated a fan to blow hot air over the load with the sound of two hairdryers.... Come to think of it... this thing actually was nothing more than a modified hairdryer...
So it actively blew out vapor thru the tubing. Drawing on it would raise the speed of the fan..
We got smacked with a stream of pretty harsh and hot vapor.
The taste was quite offputting and i remember very good even tho we probably were quite hammered we wanted/needed to get rid of that terrible taste by combusting a J!
But then things turned into a real life drama since all of the sudden our beloved smoke tasted terrible. All we could taste was the burned part... Vaping one bowl seemed to have ruined our tastebuds??? The vapor was harsh as hell and now smoke tasted like ass???
Oh noo, what did we do, what have we done???? :D
Anyhooo:
Took me two days before i could enjoy the taste of the good old smoke again (i know, right... Guess i wasn't ready for vaping or better: vaping wasn't ready for me!!). So that was enough for us to shelve the Vapir One and forget about it (and vaping alltogether)...
This thing didn't do me any favours since its taste/the experience made me ignore vaping for years...

It was kinda like a portable desktop i guess. Made to hold in one hand but still had a power plug so nowhere to go really...
Hehe, it's all about the idea isn't it...

I do love the idea they built in a tie-wrap-safety system so you could attach it to your hand for convenience!
10/10 for ergonomics, this thing became like a third hand!
You could play the buttons freely like a piano, that thing wasn't going anywhere even if you tried to shake it off!
Even if you passed out you'd be still holding on to the Vapir One!
LoL!

Edit: i don't remember when i purchased it but i do believe it must have been "old technology" already at that time. Bought it 'live' in a store and since even now, years later, it's hard to find decent vaping stuff (dry herb vaping that is) around here. So not so sure about the "Vaping wasn't ready for me"-part tbh. Just didn't start off with the right stuff i reckon. We probably just bought a dinosaur back then, that shop might still sell them! Hehe. It was more about availability in those days.

Wow
That was my first vape purchase, and it worked pretty well with no smell!
It was always noisy and also came with bags.
I still have it, and it still works.
Patented ceramic heater? Heater and fan are the only electrics in the air path.

That strap is hilarious! My air 2 also pumps vapor out continuously with a fan that runs inside the device kind of like a volcano but that's the only similarity.

I actually think I purchased my Air 2 in 04 and I wanted something that was more portable than a vapor bros pencil sharpener and indeed it was. Unfortunately the Air 2 wasn't as good as those old vapor bros units or the knock offs honestly.

I have seen variations of a chalice pipe where there is a ceramic catch to hold coconut charcoal above the herb that you use to vaporize, all breath control. I have no idea when that started though.

We did have a thread for it here!

I had some garbage whip based vaporizer that I could not get consistent results from back in 2006 or so. Love my Arizer products now though.

Chalice and hookah gotta be the oldest vapes. I've read how people were so specific with the temperature of the coals they used for the hookah. I think contemporary hookah bars have definitely lost this art!

I love that video of the Jamaican and his chalice!

As for my first attempt at vaping, 2001 I made a dyi vape with a soldering iron that sat vertical on wood stilts and a cut out 20oz plastic soda with the top detachable from the bottom. I put the herb in a small tinfoil bowl on the iron tip covered with the plastic, plug it in, let it heat up and you might not burn da herb if lucky…. Definitely got high but it was very different feeling than a modern vape. I used it for a few months when my stash was super low, I made an 1/8th last a long time with that trashy setup😂. I then never vaped again for over a decade.

Nope. That's an Eagle Bill vape.
I remember seeing ads for them in the back of old High Times issues.
It was kinda the original shake-and-vape sold on the market.
They're still available, too, and like $15. They're actually pretty fun to use, and do flavor real well. Nice simple vape to have around the house for a morning like today's!

This is probably going to date me but does anyone remember a Vapir One?

I think someone else has posted a pic of this vape in here?

*Edit: It's on this page further up

I sure do remember that one though. I preferred the form factor of the Air2 I posted previously just because of aesthetic. The Air2 is pretty top heavy without the battery though, not ideal.

I would love for someone to have a picture of my first device. It would have been 2007 and it was black, sort of a Chinese volcano knockoff. It was a completely different shape but similar concept. The herb chamber sat horizontally as well as the bag. I think it was analog but had a digital temp display. Anyone know what I’m talking about?

I found it!! My first vape from 2007 was the Dragonvap DVP 500. I wish I still had this for nostalgia. Send me a personal message if you have access to one for sale.
