Okay so after testing sic/aln/ruby I have come to a surprising winner
They all perform outstanding to start with and I would be and am happy with any of them (even quartz is very very good in the pockety)
Sic seems to give the most dense clouds (only minimally) and has the common sic signature/notes
Wipes up easily enough
Hit hard
ALN wipes up easy and produces very satisfying clouds (just slightly less dense than the sic) and has a very nice and clean flavour - has some of the notes that ruby does but they are fainter or a bit muted in comparison
Hits hard
Ruby - the surprise front runner
It wipes up as easy as aln no chazzing at any temp
It doesn't seem to have thermal shock issues

It actually produces the same kind of clouds as the ALN, usually ruby has been thin clouds for me in the past
This is just making vapour clouds for days on end
And the flavour - oh my taste buds!!!
Similar notes can be found in aln but in the ruby it is thick and fluffy and pronounced flavours

What a rig, wins the reach tests 95% of the time (probably 99%)

I will check the others later

Checked ruby/sic/aln and they all read spot on with the Ktype thermometer
I also checked with the pockety cold and it reads the dish at room temp as 23° C
The K type just on the table in the air reads the ambient room temperature also at 23° C
So they are exactly in sync as to the room temperature too
Great way for me to have tested both devices for accuracy
And a second purpose for your Pockety - if you want to know what the air temp is take the carb cap off and turn it on cold - the thing is that accurate you can tell the room temperature

Yes the street price for the Puffco Pro is $290 [plus $ to upgrade to 3D], Dr. D Switch is under $300, Ispire Daab is $170, and the Crossing Core 2.0 is $150. So $199 could be a sweet spot as long as the cost of inserts is comparable.
My Pockety just arrived this morning. Initial impression of build quality is very good. Time to clean and charge it and see if this unit is bug-free

So I am about 10 dabs in and got to say i love this.
Never had a Puffco so no frame of reference for comparison, but i like about 530F maybe 535F and just first rip huge not harsh is lovely. Decent flavor no doubt. Able to get some real nice rips off a fairly small amount of concentrate.
I tried dry herb settings once. Results were zero. Probably no need but am I missing something on that?

I just got my Pockety a few days ago and it is my first e-rig also even though I have been a "head" since high school in the mid-late 70's. Closest I ever came to anything like dabbing was with Lebanese blond hash using the good 'ol hot knife method using two butter-knives heated up on an electric stove. So just outside my radar as I've always been happy with weed. But got curious after discovering this forum a few months ago and having a tollerance issue that has gotten annoying. It seemed obvious that adding a different ingestion method other than TM2, DynaVap B, edibles would be a good idea. Hance dabs and e-rigs.
And it gets me really, really high. I mean, amazingly high. So clearly using a new method of ingestion is working. A big part of it hitting so hard for me is I am a noob at it after all, but I am hopeful that if i do periodically bounce around between weed, edibles, concentrates, etc., that should help me btain a pleasant buzz when I want/medically need one.
Why haven't I written a review yet? Mainly because by the time I have gotten off work and have free time and could even THINK about writing a re I've been too stoned to do so...

It just feels solid and well-made but I still really do not like the phallically shaped glass, but the lighting effects pretty cool and everything else about it is really great. OMG Lebanese blond hash in a hookah helped me get through HIGH School in the late 60s /early 70s. Yes weed had a lower % THC back then, but it was very affordable. Back to 2022: FYI my pockety wouldn’t charge using a 30 watt charger; this happens with some devices that can’t communicate with a smart, higher power wall charger. Fine now on a less powerful unit.

It takes my phone fast charger but won't take all and won't take CC chargers

And slower chargers are better for it

Well after 14 hours on a slower charger it’s not charged. Charging indicator blinking on the final block at the start and so far it’s unchanged so I’m trying a different cord.

What has been the best way to contact them? I got my unit Monday and it wouldn't turn on yesterday. It won't even respond to being plugged in. I sent an email first thing yesterday I understand he's busy though. Anytips for getting it running are welcome too

Edit got my pockety yesterday. I just did a few burn offs and cleaned the glass. I need to hit the dispo. And the ps5 showed up same day so yea wrapped up in game world. Mine has same scratches as @LesPlenty did just not as bad.

Y’all realize this is a standard pricing gimmick, right? Inflate your initial price for the appearance of luxury and then mark it down massively, then drop to the “real” price when the initial hype starts to wear down? I’m happy for everyone that took advantage of the initial sale, but any savvy consumers should be seeing it for what it is.

Yes I did, it just won't respond. No lights and no life in the screen. I disassembled and cleaned it Monday and charged it all the way till noonish Tuesday, worked great Tuesday night and all day Wednesday. Than on Thursday I cleaned it again before use and it just won't fire up. I've been using the bubbler dry and haven't gone higher than 525, I'm a little bummed
