They're not bad and fairly common on phones etc since it keeps the average person from removing them. Anyone who is a tool person certainly has some torx bits though.

Technically there are a few types of torx screws. Typically the tamper resistant ones have a peg in the middle these days.
I think torx is fine, but a it's a signal to "leave it to the professionals".
Anyway I am hopeful someone opens their Angus soon so we can see the bulb situation.

It may be great, but overall beware any safety stickers on Chinese electronics, every real and valuable safety certification costs money, a small fee, but a fake sticker is really cheap. I have Chinese voltage meters with all the “proper looking” safety stickers etc., that could injure or at worse, kill you. This is fairly common knowledge, but needs to be mentioned know and then, like all the fires from cheap Chinese eBikes, etc.
Indeed, a fairly common type these days. You can buy “security kits” online that include many of the ones used, where they make it real hard to open up. It’s a mostly DISPOSABLE world these days…..

The top screws? There could be a dab of threadlocker on the screws to discourage folks from trying to open it. Bit of heat will break that; hold a solder gun to the screw for a minute or so, should come out easy.
EDIT: The top screws are T5 size Torx (not the tamperproof type, standard torx).. torx is a common head used in pocket knives.. no thread locker, I just checked.

Are there only 6 air holes total on the bottom? That’s also pretty disappointing reminds me of my Edge. Good airflow at first but then really tails off after a year…

Ha, nobody actually looks. I don’t, as I wouldn’t know how to spot a fake, doubt the any Chinese company would respond in a useful way. Another reason to try when you can to charge batteries in an external charger. I’ve come to accept that I’m surrounded by such devices, just be as cautious as you can.
Bonus:
(Recently my friends house burnt down, neighbors woke and rescued him, fire department said it was a cheap $12.00 power strip, he is an electrician so I doubt he overloaded it, but even so, that’s when the circuit breaker should kill it)
Hilariously some folks online are calling that the China Export mark and it just coincidentally looks like European certification. However the owners of the CE mark disagree.
This is very shady and a bad sign for safety. Definitely a dishonest, if common, cost-cutting measure.

Please don't cheap on on these batteries, I personally wouldn't trust these, I guess Mooch had checked these and the specs are OK so have at it if you want, I've just seen too many 18650 catch fire to use a brand I don't know or trustI was looking around and I found what might be a partial solution to the warm/hot batteries. At least in regard to batteries dying prematurely.

Fwiw the "Hohm life" batteries are fantastic and while a little pricey they're actually under rated on the specs they list by a good amount

For the low price of $200, we can get the teardown we need.
Seriously there is only so much much we can even learn from a comprehensive teardown. A lot of safety issues would be hard to see. But this is probably equally true of many vapes.

Just an update gang I've been beating the shit out of this thing for about 2 months now and it hasn't skipped a beat.I run on 5, 428F I think, power button pressed down for boost mode, through glass. I then proceed to smack the bottom of the unit to get the weed out of the chamber. It's solid like my TM.
At 428F + boost have you combusted? How many of your monster hits does it take to 'kill" a bowl?

Very cool had not heard about new WPA design. But if they keep the screw-on WPA design then potential for some nice other add-ons. WPA, whip, mouthpiece...I didn't even know they were considered security screws, just thought they were annoying lol. I don't know about the soldering tbh I'm not that familiar with engineering.
FWIW it has CE certification to allow it on EU market, which at least culls the sketchy quality levels. But as for real life durability, yeah time will tell. It's not a tried concept.
It's fun though and for the price I think it's not that big a risk. I'm reaching for it more often than I expected. I thought I'd mostly use it out of the house, but rn I am chilling at my desk with Angus imbuia my side
With the stock plastic cu I have been using a lot! It's just so easy and the glass mp is a smart touch that makes just that bit of difference and without which I wouldn't even have tried that cu at all.
The wpa has been improved since my beta version but I haven't seen the new one. It was updated to address these compatibility issues though but like @Shit Snacks pointed out all in one is iffy. In the beta wpa I got the actual wpa was screwed into the base with the magnets, perhaps something likemAnvil wpa could be added later (dedicated size and the nice orings) and you could just screw it on the base.
Also I like the comfort of not having to push a button

So the CE marking is used by the certifying test agency as well. And the agency is accepted by IECEE to run these tests. Should be fine then.
Is this because the air intake gets clogged up with dust? Is there no way to remedy this?
Seems like a massive flaw if airflow goes to shit in one year. Makes the arguments about bulb lifespan moot.

The 6 air holes quickly empty into the wider glass tube, so I don't see how airflow would be impacted anytime soon.
I take it there is no way to open this section up and blow out dust if it does get blocked up?

The abv can end up down there stuck in the HR Edge, you have to blow through either the mp or air hole end to improve. I’d definitely avoid a fine grind with this one and would invert it as much as possible to avoid. Also be careful with these types in your jacket pocket as lint and such can end up in there
Anyway about a year is all I would expect from this one with top airflow, and eh it’s a 1 year warranty right?
