The panels that are rosewood (or wenge?) definitely can be waxed easily, but yeah I'm not sure if the dyed burl stabilized wood would ever need any wax?

I've literally never treated any of my tetra without any issue, although I have painted poplar, then acrylic, now dyed burl (my dual was padauk and recently sold but I'm told it actually benefited from some treatment finally lol) I stopped treating any of my other wood vapes long ago too, meh no problems (in the California desert)

Hi guys, yesterday my TP80 arrived and I already LOVE it!! It has a small learning curve, but much less than I expectet. For now I ususally use it on cruise, 220°C and a few seconds of heat up mode. Even the the wood stem with capsules work really well for me. The capsule does require one warm up draw before you get thick vapor, but really not that much. Plus the capsule prevents abv from falling down in the heater.

For charging I got me powerbank with replacable 18650s. I thought this was a nice idea, so I can use it to power all my other stuff too. swapping cells with the TP80 plus USB-C charging for all other gadgets. And i could bring an unlimited amount of more 18650s :)

Sadly the p80 came with a small pixel defect, one pixel doesn't work. I already contcted Ralph and he was really kind about it, he offered to replace the p80 or get me a free mouthpiece. Not sure what to do, what would you do? the pixel defect does annoy me a little, since I'm a little autistic with things like that sometime. On the other hand I dont want to give the TP80 away again, and an other mouthpiece sounds nice too...

I know exactly how you feel, wanting things to be perfect with the pixel, it does seem like a minor thing for sure, but you'll always know it's there... On the one hand it's kind of nice when something comes with a little defect like that, because then it's imperfect from the get-go, you can be less precious with it maybe?? Easier said than done though haha

Bottom line I would probably hang on to it, the back and forth shipping time is not a big deal, but it's tough when you only have one TP80 especially lol and took a long time to get it! You could take him up on the extra mouthpiece if there is one you want to try that you don't have, and you think you might like it... Otherwise I might tell him to hang on to it, and you'll see how it goes over time, maybe something else will happen and you will need to send it back anyway, more pixels etc, that's why I would just wait if it was me?

Last night I thought the pixel defect disappered and was really happy, just to realise today the screen was flipped and the bad pixel isnt visible like that haha:doh:

I have a little problem with combusting through water, I want a quick hit with full extraction. I combusted three times now, always using warm up mode (takes about 40s for the light to get green) and temps of 220C/428F, 210C/410F and 200C/392F. To get an even extraction and no channeling, I thought a slow and steady pull was necessary. Bowl lighty packed down.
Do you have any suggestions for improvement on my technique, to get fast, even and full extractions through water? Are there ways to inhale really fast withough hotspotting?

if it's possible, buy top shelf weed, that is really rich in thc/terpz and dry enough (when you press the bud with your fingers slightly, it should get released back to its own form) . i vape at 455F slow draw with top shelf rich in terpz, and at 435F for top shelf not too rich, need to be careful, always check at 430F before going up....

455F will bring me dark ABV, but not too dark, and it's only for 1 strain I can use 455F i think. mostly 450F or 445F is my limit for "normal" strains/phenos

also, i never load more than 0.1gr for very high temps

PS
i still taste the weed at 455F. but not like 420F

so more resin in the bud the less likely its to combust? Makes sense, since I am using a mix of 70%CBD and 30% THC Flower atm. The CBD is a little dry and not ver sticky.

yeah, it's always shocking to get weed that can't handle 440F ! happend to me last week. some strain buds i had, gave a hotspot from 440F, need very good weed for 440F+ with slow draw....

Inhale faster, I always inhale fast with my tetra, rarely slow, if you inhale slow the heat can build in the bowl and give you a scorch spot, of course that can happen if you pull too hard on a packed bowl tunneling through the center as well... I never use the warm up, all I do is put my tetra in cruise, give it a few seconds and it warms up on its own, with the high temps especially, and then I do my quick rip through water... There are a lot of variables but it is pretty easy to do and I never combust because I know my settings and my WPA and myself with these rigs

required only with low grade weed imho.. try slow draw 420F-430F you will love it.. with medium/top shelf weed.. with bong ofc.. or good cooling stem

Yeah I haven't been getting good bud in a long time haha but I have a wide variety so yeah I've done that too, I have so many different strains that grind differently and vape differently so trust me I do a wide variety of styles, I'm just talking about my go-to is to turn it up and rip it quick

Check out what Good Vibes Boro just made for me as part of my latest order:

I think the p80 adapts pretty well whether to fast or slow hits. You just need to adjust your temp accordingly. I also tend to go pretty quick through a j hook so I’m usually good up to like 420-430, though the end of a bowl tastes like ass. I imagine someone who inhaled much slower with my flower would top out at 400 or something. Like @Shit Snacks it depends on a few things (how fast you inhale, moisture content of flower) as to where the combustion “line” is, but you’ll know it if you cross it.

So my P80 arrived today, and I'm having mixed feelings here. I love the way it looks, even if the wood came out a lot darker than I was expecting. No issues with the build quality on the enclosure itself, but I guess I should have done my research about the design of the vape. I didn't realise the battery cover sits so close to the edge of the heating chamber (this gap is around 5mm on my Tubo but only 2mm on the P80) meaning that all my spare bowls, stems, adapters etc don't fit. I can only use the tank and bendy stems that I bought with it, and those both have a loose fit within the heating chamber and don't seal properly.
I appreciate it's a hand-made item so I don't expect it to be perfect, but I have to say so far it's a lot less perfect than I was expecting. :\

I guess I don’t know what wpa you’re using, but any 18mm male fits fine for me. Ditto any other stems with an 18mm male joint.

you mean that you need to remove the stem/wpa before replacing battery? but the TP80 is like smaller than Tubo Evic, it's the advantage in this thing....

Yeah if you could show some photos that would be great, I haven't come across this issue with all my various 18 mm stems being able to clear the battery hatch of the TP80, although I have other stems that might have this problem (I have a old spiked long bent stem with outer horn that only fits my TP80s in one direction because of the horn, but still plenty usable) so I am curious what other stems and adapters you are trying to use? Is it just that you want to be able to open the battery hatch with the stem inside?? Because that seems totally unnecessary to me, you pretty much always have to remove the stem to open the battery hatch and change the battery, and I wouldn't want it any other way really... Also make sure the battery hatch is fully closed if you are having trouble with fit maybe it is not fully closed??? Finally if the stems are not fitting well, the male into the female of the tetra, well then that is something Ralph could probably help you with... He could maybe replace your stems, you could send back the tetra, make sure that you get stuff that fits properly, that happened to me with my tubo rebuild actually most stems fit wobbly in it, there's so much variance with glass, you can find another alternative to get them to fit securely, or you can just pass it on... Yes this is a very nice device, well thought out, well made, great design and very effective, but it's still a handmade product that is far from perfect depending on individual needs and desires. Certainly doesn't help when you have certain expectations that aren't met!

Arrived! Took about 3 weeks, pretty good timing, and the quality seems absolutely fantastic I must say! Everything was wrapped up really well with nice bubble wrap in a small thick walled box... Super thick glass, very nice even joints, scroll through this little album to check out the thick raised base, and upline style "bamboo" mouthpiece that looks great, along with the nice down stems and their different perc styles:

I will report back with function of course, comparisons with the Goo three-piece and TAG super slit donut, but this seems like a real win for modular vaping water piece!

I only had a bowl with the tetra so far, it is quite different, with the matrix downstem, which is pretty effective because of the wide can you need to load a decent amount of water, and this allows a softer pull... It seems like a little more water is going to be necessary for the other downstem, which has a lot of holes and a tapered open bottom... Fortunately I have one drop down adapter that can fit and clear, the 14-18 one I got from curated flame in Pittsburgh shipped, also the only one that works with my upline bubbler, anyway working really well it just seems to be unique from the narrow can of the Goo (who also use a open bottom downstem with only nine holes) and the super slit fountain perk of the TAG with its large wide can still stands alone... So I am glad I got this as another complimentary modular piece, but there is much more testing to do of course!

I mentioned above, despite the language barrier, I was able, by message when I ordered, you can put it in the notes, and then confirm, you can show photos, I asked and then they showed me the photos and then they made it for me... Could affect the price however if you would like to get both?
Edit to Add: a quick function comparison video between the two different percs, with TetraP80 @425F and Goo mouthpiece, that I hope you all see without it being a new post!

So this is proving to be a pretty great water piece for the Tetra P80 (similar yet slightly different alternative to the GooRoo 3piece bubbler) even though I only just got it:

above quotes are from the cheap glass thread and I also posted some other good tetra pieces there recently by the way!

Since I bought my tetra P80 at the last drop I am not satisfied with it. I set the P80 to 195 degrees. Preheat the p80 or use it on demand. No matter if I pull slow or fast it just comes barely steam. Compared to the Tinymight 1 or 2 at 180 degrees, the steam is just thin with the same material.

If I pull during preheating then the result is satisfactory but that can't be right. I have not changed any settings since purchase. The resistance of the coil is the value of the lid inside stands. What am I doing wrong? Does anyone have tips? What are your experiences at 195 degrees?
