Maybe a tiny drop of reclaim to glue the adapter in. Not the cleanest solution, but it should be strong enough, i had that accidentally happen before

That would be a bad idea, why would you want the adapter stuck in the tetra? Just leave it around the 14 joint, so that way it is like an 18 mm stem with extra glass... Actually have plenty of reducers, they can be a bit long at the bottom so not sure how well they fit in my Tetra, but I also have the 14 mm ddave baskets so I could try this, it just seems pointless to me lol woo extra pieces

he wants to use a smaller bowl, not 19mm
i saw somebody in IG who say the tetra can be used also, as a female injector, ofc need to raise temp etc', and he uses some o-ring so the 14/19 adapter won't fall or something like that.... i forgot who it is tho!
the tetra with 0.1gr sometimes can be too much, i'd like to use the 14mm too sometimes.. especially high temp, here's 445F

Haha yes I know that, but I'm saying why would you want the reducer stuck inside the tetra?? And yeah I don't really know what that means, female injector, that's not really a thing lol I use my tetra for one hitter bowls through water, I let it cruise a bit and then I pop it on the WPA with herb in rimmed basket screen at the tip 19 going to 19 or 14 depending on the drop down adapter in the rig, I take a deep rip and remove the tetra to clear... Yes this is much how I would use an injector vape, except then I would also stir and take another hit because the bowl is much larger with those, to use tetra as an actual injector you would need to keep a male to male adapter in there, but the heater would be too far away from the load so that makes no sense to me at all either haha

Oh yes gluing it to the 14 joint/stem would be much better, why didn’t I think of that haha.

The 14mm basket screen holds less herb than the 18 right? That would be the point, but I would also rather have a simpler solution.
Maybe I will try the the wood stem with capsules that I reduced to half capacity.

Yeah technically it holds less weed, but if you are filling it full, and filling the 18 just enough to cover the screen, it would be the same amount, might even be less in the 18 then, I'm just saying it seems totally unnecessary to try to use a 14, and then what you are doing is you are tunneling the heat through a very narrow pathway, narrower than the heater itself, than what it was designed for, so you're probably going to get more hotspot tunneling and scorching? Sorry it just seems pointless to me lol but maybe I'll try it out for you...

Ok now I get what you mean, more hotspots doesn’t sound good… If you want to try it I wouldn’t mind though ;) maybe even with just enough to cover the screen of the 14mm, that would be the ideal amount. I imagine that to be a similar amount like a reduced dynavap tip, which is my daily driver atm.

when you're trying the 14mm thing, don't use the same temp, but lower a bit, the 18/14 adapter absorbs heat... and it should work without hotspots IMHO

Thanks yeah I was wondering about the temp, because it's going to be further away, with extra glass, but also narrower... I don't mean hotspot per say, but scorch, I never get a hotspot really with the tetra, it's always even, but it could be a full blackening of the top or more too quick which I want to avoid

Edit: alright so the first hurdle was actually finding a reducer that fits properly, they usually have a rim around them, two out of mine did not fit because the ring would hit the wood of the tetra before it could seal with the glass on glass... With the latest TP80 there's plenty of room with the heater and screen far down enough although I was concerned about that beforehand since they also all have a bit of extra glass after the joint... Then the 14 mm basket did not fit tightly into my 14 male to male adapter, usable if kept upright carefully, which proved to be a problem after I completed my hit and the piece came apart so I lost the basket load to the floor, only got a quick shot of the extraction before dumping to inspect further!

Screenshot-20220918-134334.png

^bottom right you can see the two that didn't fit, top right is the one that does fit, clearing the tetra wood, with the rimmed basket loaded. Bottom left is before loading, you see how deep it is with that extra glass space from the reducer, you could load further up into that reducer I suppose although I'm not sure it would be a good idea at least without it all secure together... Top left is the loaded bowl ready to hit!

You can see here^ what I mean about the rim of the reducer clearing the wood of the tetra, using it on good vibes boro hook.

Screenshot-20220918-135811.png

So this^ bottom right is after one hit at 420F you see what I mean by a hotspot scorch, it was a good rip, felt like a full extraction of the bowl, but yeah like I said dropped it and lost it when I removed the pieces from the hook unfortunately lol

So then I filled the little basket and dumped it on the table, to try it in a regular 19 stem, it was just about exactly enough to cover the bottom of the basket screen, about a third full or less? Bottom left is it on the table, top right is it in the good vibes 19/19 to 14 WPA, then top left is after the same hit at 420F (try it another hit at 440 and it was just wispy, actual temperature was closer to 400 though, low battery now too so)

^dumped avb is a bit darker in person, you can tell it is a full, mid-temp convection extraction, dry dust. I'll have to try again, maybe higher temp, without losing the first load to compare more directly? Haha

This initial finding is that there is not enough benefit to use the smaller 14 mm basket, the extra headaches are not worth it, much easier to load less in a standard WPA

Yeah you might be overthinking this whole thing. Just pack the 18mm basket screens with less herb, you’ll have fewer moving parts to deal with in your TP80 system.

thanks for testing! It does seem more complicated than I imagined... I can't wait for my tetra to arrive, but I probably won't order the 14mm basket screen for now then.

So I got my first Tetra P80 in the mail today! Bought it off someone on Reddit for $350 w/ bendy stem and a wooden Tubo w/ glass stem. It's boxwood, and for once a tiny bit bigger than expected once I got it in my hand. Loving it so far! Only thing is is that both brand new batteries that I've tried- Molicel P28A 2800mAh 35A, and Sony Murata VTC6 3000mAh 15A went from 97% battery life to 70 something after warmup cycle/and a single puff on demand. I was wondering if anybody could recommend a better option, or let me know if I'm doing something wrong? When it comes to batteries, and mods I haven't quite figured them out completely yet lol. I haven't changed anything in the settings, and used single click for on demand @ 70W 390 degrees and the batteries drained super fast. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.. Happy to be part of the Lamart fam! 😊 🤙🏼

Congrats, normal for the batteries to do that, the percentage reading is not so accurate for one thing, but also you should turn on eco to 1 so that way if you are cruising and not drawing it will lower the wattage automatically... You could also lower the wattage max yourself if you want better battery life, below 70w, but I don't use the warm-up stuff I just simple cruise one hitters so my use is pretty efficient, I have a good sense of the batteries life for my style of use and how to maximize them... Yeah so the TP80 eats batteries though is the general consensus because of the power and limited nature of a single cell (Molicell still the best)

Between the p80 and tetra dual what one would you recommend For a maid experience Vape user but is far from knowing a lot about several different things when it comes to these kinds of units. The tetra x i will be For sure getting and depending on what I hear back from you guys I’ll get the least suggested one last. My pockets are burning so i hope I can hear some good advice from a couple of you because I won’t be able to make it thru tomorrow without placing an order
Thanks,

@VASked_Avenger! yeah that’s normal if you use w2c. It’s a lot of wattage to preheat it. If you’re going to daily drive it like that it’s worth having a few batteries. The percentage calculation is often inaccurate though. Mine will drop ~30% after a bit like that, but when I power it back on later be up 10%.

It’s a pretty minimal savings to just turn on cruise and let it warm up, or even to use eco 1 (which is probably on as it is the default) vs eco 0 in my testing, but I didn’t like take measurements or anything. It’s just a few percentage here and there. If you’re actually leaving cruise on for a sustained period of time (like passing it around with buddies or whatever) them eco becomes a little nicer, but honestly a 40 degree temp drop doesn’t change the live watts used so much.

Is it just like any wooden vape that needs a bit of wax every now and then? Does it affect the painted colors of my unit?
if you live in an humid environment, you may want to use beeswax often, every month maybe, because the wax actually is a water repellent.. to protect the wood against water.. but if you live in a dry area you can do it every 2 months, any beeswax for wood would work i think...

it doesn't affect the color...i waxed my unit which looks almost the same as yours...

Hello fellow P80 owners. I’m looking for some advice on wood care of the P80.

Is it just like any wooden vape that needs a bit of wax every now and then? Does it affect the painted colors of my unit?

Here’s a beauty shot of my morning as a thanks in advance:
I wax mine every now and then to keep the wood protected and healthy. It looks a little better immediately after a waxing too. But Ralph mentioned that it isn’t necessarily something he does very often on his personal units, so I don’t think you need to stress about it. Also fwiw @smith.street.band aren’t those colors all dyed (embedded into the wood) rather than painted (applied on the surface)? If it’s paint I guess it might be a little different, but I think it’s dyed burl so that it lasts.

On that note though what do people use for wax? I had been using bomb ass butter, but I’m told there are great bulk options. Something like walrus cutting board oil an effective option?
