Agreed. And in a way, that's what we're getting from Marc as well (minus the no proof part).
I suppose it'd be considered more worth just to see what marc looks like. Whenever I think of Marc the person, my mind always places the image of a black silhouette with a question mark stamped on it, pretty much like when there's characters you haven't unlocked yet in a video game lol

 Agreed. Maybe someday we'll have a Firewood users group convention and we can convince him to be the keynote speaker. Until then, I'll imagine something like Reed Richards hard at work in his lab high atop the Baxter Building.

If I knew nothing about the FW line, and you showed me the above pic, or any side by side comparison, based on LOOKS ALONE, I would assume the FW8 was a prototype or earlier iteration, and the FW7 was the finished product. Keep waiting for the FW8 to visually grow on me, hasn’t happened yet though.
100% this. I just don't think I can do it anymore...

Dang, looks like as far as looks go, the FW8 is the red headed stepchild here.

Looks like I'm going to have to keep my eyes open on the secondhand market. I'll happily snag an FW8 if it's a little less money than the secondhand FW7's. At the end of the day, I care more about functionality, but I can see what a few of you are saying about looks. I kind of like the Frankenstein look, it's growing on me.

I received my replacement battery yesterday, charged it and have been very, very pleased! My biggest thing I noticed right away.... No wood taste like I get from the 7. Marc going with the cherry oven made a great improvement on taste!
Also full extraction! My avb is as dark as coffee! Every last drop! No need to save this avb. So far I've gotten 3 bowls from a charge and have 2 buzzes left in this battery.
Also the more I handle it... the more I say it reminds me of a tank! Firewood 8, aka The Tank!
I say this.... Marc is really quite an engineer!
P.s. I want an all cherry wood FW8!

I’m sure I’ll get used to it too if he doesn’t change it, but I hope he changes it at least a little. Even rounding the edges or something to make it seem more like an intentional part of the whole…

Don’t get me wrong; my Nomad looks like it was cobbled together from a bunch of random things and I love it, but it was done very carefully and intentionally on both the functional and aesthetic fronts so it looks like one coherent amazing piece of art rather than a nice coherent design with a weird square block stuck on as if to replace the original oven or something…

I have no problem with using a different wood, especially if it is functionally better, but I would really like to see it fit better with the rest of the design.

As it is, I still plan to buy a FW8 when my turn comes, but I may have to modify it or get a better artist to modify it to make the whole thing look more Frankensteined so it will look right to me. :sherlock:

Been waiting to hear from you, sounds solid! Picking up mine tomorrow from forwarding office. I think mine will be first in the North (Canada) lol

For anyone that has gotten a stem fromGood Vibes Boro, does he want you to go through him on Insta or from O’Connell Woodworks?

I'm not even consuming flower right now, but. You know, VAS is a disease.

I've heard the 8 involves more convection and less conduction than the 7. Anybody know if that's true? I didn't mind the conduction flavors coming out of the 7, but much prefer convection.

I have been buying from him since before he was connected to OWW so I typically just contact him directly. But he may have a different prefrence now. He's a member here now, so you could just DM @GoodVibesBoro and ask.

He makes great stuff, I still use that FW7 stem any time I am not using the WPA. Which is almost every dog walk.
Have fun!

The 8 is 100% more convection, Marc himself confirmed it but wanted us to kinda figured it out on our own before confirmed as he didn't want to seem biased, I had a conversation with another group A user and he confirmed it as well. The vapor is a lot fuller and fluffier and that wood taste from the 7 is gone completely.

Welllll, fuck. I guess we're gonna need a TM2 vs FW8 thread once more members have them in their hands.

There already is one...
I don't know all the differences seem pretty apparent that a comparison isn't even necessary to me lol

Probably not for me either lol. Despite liking the vapor from my TM more, I did find the FW to be more pocketable. If I hear people are getting TM vapor vibes from the FW form factor, my interest will be very piqued.

@Falconflys can you walk me through charging? I click the button quickly to check battery level and got 1 buzz back. Is that correct to indicate low level?

I plugged in battery using usb-c charger and the light show green. How long will it take and will the light change color?

thanks bro

Figure on a few hours, The green light will go out when the pack is fully charged.

Steel28, if you need them, the FW7 instructions can be found on the FAQ page at the Firewood site.

I thought the light was supposed to go out but mine doesn't. And its the new one Marc sent me. The first charge it went for 5 hrs and the light didn't go out. So I unplugged and plugged back in and no light. Same thing today on 2nd charge.
Should probably message Marc about it, but I know he's damn busy and nothing got hot at all with that long of a charge so no worries of over charging. Also just sent my original 2 back to him.
