Mine came today and wow. You guys weren't kidding about the wide open air flow. No wonder people prefer more restricted stems. Gotta say it's love at first hit, can't believe I was a skeptic.

@GoldenBud those temps are crazy, you really ride the line

Have some pics! :peace:

Wooo great with the CodyPline rig, right?!?

Please remember there are no stupid questions, lol, but this might be the first.

I've never used the basekt screen. Wondering if this basket screen is supposed to fit in the stem?

Haha yeah you have to force it in, sometimes you need to pinch and narrow them or flatten and widen them, but some will never fit and there is variance with the glass and baskets unfortunately... Can try from another source?

Yeah man, it's gotta fit.
Gently push. Mine initially kept falling out until I learned about the stretch method and pushing the basket with the end of pen (or similar). I don’t even think about it now it’s so simple. I prefer the basket screen to loading stems with the P80…

…which by the way is a beast! The heater is so powerful yet versatile being able to adjust exact temps and different modes (and features too). Congrats to everyone getting one recently. This is a top convection vape, that’s for sure! I like the narrower stems too, which is what I mostly use (big native user here). Cheers. :peace:

I heated the basket and used the blunt side of a metal pen to push it in further. It's almost flush.

If you don't hear back from me in the next 5 minutes, it went well, lol. Thanks to you as well Vaporific.

You got an example of a narrow stem?
I’ve been wanting to find a j hook with a male and use the p80 upside down like a pipe but can’t seem to find the right glass

Yes, thank you so much for recommending him. This has got to be my favorite glass, and his prices are insanely good. I love yours, that pink is awesome.

I don't have one myself but I think Oregon Glass Blowers does a male right angle hook that might be what you're looking for

I meant the stems on Lamart’s site. I have 2 tank stems, a short spiked bendy, and long narrower bendy one. I like the short spiked bendy and tank the best. I have glass connectors for hooks and rigs for occasional use. :peace:

From lamart’s site the tank adds a nice bit of restriction. I actually find his other stems to be pretty wide open. Even the nub, which doesn’t look it, is pretty free flowing. The newer micro looks similar to the tank and might also add a bit of restriction, though?

It doesn’t do much for restriction, but the cheap dhgate j hook does a phenomenal job cooling if you’re okay with wide open. Otherwise I bet the j hook that Nicholas, a French glass blower, makes adds a bit due to the restriction at the mouthpiece. I forget his site, but I’m sure you can find it in the j hook thread. Otherwise Ed’s tnt carry’s them.

I don't see any reason I would ever use my tubo again since the tetra heater is so much more effective (consistent even extraction yeah more mass more power) but it will stay in my collection nevertheless! (not my Dual)

I wonder... does the "bendy glas intake" that is included with the Tetra P80 supposed to have a "carb"??

Tetra P80 just arrived after more than a month of waiting. Most disappointing first hits ever. So i figured i must be doing something wrong...
Hear airleaks everywhere, like the stem doesn't fit?
so i find this carbhole in the stem?? Why? How?
But even with that hole covered the hits are worthless and that bloody glass stem gets bloody hot around that "carb"...
Only have that stem so can't even try another way.
Very disappointing...

So sorry, no, that is clearly a hole, broken spike, that left the clean hole, hope you cleaned it! He'll have to send you a replacement... Hopefully you have something else to use it with for now?

Pfff, i am really that disappointed at the moment that i have to restrain myself from putting it up for sale. Trying to convince myself to give it some time before i decide. But was really very stoked to try it out after it being at customs for over a month...
And no, i have no other means of using it now, while it was on it's way i already thought i should have bought extra stems..
Just the thought of waiting again for customs to clear some stems makes me really sick rightnow...
goddammit

Put it up for sale? My dude, you've almost reached nirvana. It's absolutely worth all the patience and it's just a standard joint so you should be able to acquire some kind of stem easier than the vape itself for sure. Super disappointing to have an even longer wait but you will be so glad in the end.

Yeah definitely sucks, but after all the wait (where customs broke it), listing it right away makes no sense unless you need the money ASAP? Yeah it is easy to get stems from elsewhere, I'm not sure where you are located, but you don't need to order from Lamart, the standard connection means so many different types will work, you could walk into a smoke shop to get an 18.8 mm male to male adapter for use with a hook or other glass piece (which is my favorite use) or order from eBay/Amazon/DHgate and rogue or other vape shops online too

Maybe there are options in your country?

Not that i know of. Especially since they have to be suitable for this specific stem-loading system?

Super disappointing to have an even longer wait but you will be so glad in the end.

Maybe yeah, feels a bit like a bad omen tho...
I'll have to look into it i guess.
(where customs broke it),

I don't think they broke it based on the "damage" . Guess if they would break it, they would break it good.

I really don't have any glass pieces at all and all i know about glass is that there's tons of it and whenever i read stuff here about glass constructions i get lost in translation. I see some pictures and sometimes can't even figure out what's going on...
Lol, it's almost embarrising..
Not really smoke shops around here, vape shops yes but these are all about nicotine-vaping. They really don't carry anything bonglike or herbrelated stuff. And ordering (tall) glass pieces online... wel, i don't trust postal services for that tbh.
So i tend to stay away from glassware alltogether...

I was planning on using it native tbh.

(I've boxed it for now, back in it's original state. I'll give it some thought first.)

Edit: and also asking a replacement stem from Lamart will cost me at least 30 euro when it arrives in the country. That's what postal services ask to offer it to customs. Even when there is no extra taxes to be paid.. That kinda sucks too

@666Honeybadger what country are you in? If this was your plan I think not getting any spare stems was a mistake personally, glass is always fragile especially in shipping, and defects are always possible... Anyway can come up with suggestions for you online if we know where you are, but if you search 18.8 mm stem or adapter on eBay where you are you should be able to find plenty of results that might be able to ship pretty quick? Lamart will send you a replacement, likely extra spares for your trouble, hopefully that won't cost you anything to receive??

No, they are not unique to the P80. You just need an 18mm male jointed stem.
But i have to be able to load/cap the stem no?
And it needs a screen inside if i want to stem-load? Since i'd like to avoid crumbling up the heater.

@666Honeybadger what country are you in?
Belgium

It's true. I realised too late, was a bit surprised i got my order thru and didn't think of adding at that moment (realised too late it could be done afterwards).
Normally i would prefer a straight stem but was reading about using it inverted because of the way the load sits in the basket screen. To avoid crumble in the heater. And then the possibility to stem load and cap that with the basket... But also lot's of people not being a fan of this (even tho it sounded better in my mind)
But with a straight stem using upside down seemed hard to do native?
So i thought i'd give it a go first with the standard stem to decide if i could go for a fancier straight wooden stem or if some bended stem/bong solution would be better to keep everything crisp and clean... Just to figure out my way of using first something like that...

But again: you are absolutely right, it was a mistake.
hopefully that won't cost you anything to receive??

That's what makes it extra sour: i will at least pay 30 euro to postal service for presenting it to custums...
Tax or no tax...
Oh welll, that'll teach me i guess...

Will allow you to use the basket screen that came with the stem, but you will need an 18.8 mm female glass piece as well, I would recommend this one for a nice hook, but there are a lot of options...

I'm pretty sure the Rogue Wax Works would ship to you in Europe though, you could get the male to male adapter and hook from him here, he has many options:

Yeah sorry I guess I just don't understand the situation there, having to pay 30 euro for a small little envelope package seems pretty ridiculous, I know the TP80 comes in a little box, but stems can be wrapped in bubble wrap sent cheaper post since they are lighter weight?

I understand what you are saying about how you want to use it, but I as I said always keep the tetra upside down anyway so using a WPA with a hook is very nice and then you have the ability to get a water piece later and you will still eventually get the Lamart stems where you can load more inside the joint if that is what you want although I do not like to use it that way at all myself there are a lot of other options and ways to do this with other stems too, there are a lot of nice unique ones from lamart though that are set up accordingly, good luck, I'm sorry it might end up costing you more money, but I wouldn't give up so easily although it sucks to have patience not rewarded
