The Dani by Battery-free Ganz

Those o-rings are made by viton sir and because it's new so those trenches (where o-rings are placed) are still sharp, easily leading to scratch the o-rings, thats why you saw some black residue and one o-ring became snapped. The tip for this problem is being gentle when you try to separate/connect the stem and the tip in some first times, I think olive oil won't help much you should use silicone or vaseline instead, or just use it normally for a few times then resin from herbs will cling on the o-rings and make it smoothier.

I will solve this "sharp trenches" problem in next batch, really sorry for this inconvenience :):)

I’m thinking about buying the DaniVape, but it seems like some upgrades have been done, which is nice. Anyway, do you plan on updating or changing the stem design/function or tip soon, like a month or so? Because I wouldn’t mind waiting a bit If that’s the case.

If your a developer and truly love what you’re doing and want it to be your job to craft cool vapes, then yea you’re probably always looking to improve every detail of your vapes design. A portion of developers rarely discuss if, when or what changes they plan on making to their product until it's available for sale.

Like the Anvil, the crown jewel of the Dani vape is the ovens heat retention abilities that can provide multiple customizable draws off of one heat up cycle. This is where the magic lies. Both function really well.

The bodies/stems of these devices will continue to evolve. Vestratto recently did a major upgrade in their main body stem to correct air flow issues customers were complaining about. Before that they introduced a new larger mouth piece with an additional spiral cooler. Before that the condenser, stem and heat shield changed etc.

Conversely, BFG just upgraded their body with a new design and more color choices. Before that they changed the number of cooling fins and the mouth piece design etc.

I’m pleased with the current BFG offering, that’s why I purchased it. For the cost of a DV ‘M’ plus shipping it really wasn’t a hard decision for me. YMMV.

Hi! @batteryfreeganz I was offered your vape by @sucudu90dn on Instagrama and wanted to know if he's an authorized retailer cause I haven't been hearing the best things about him recently... Not sending packages and so on.
Just curious(!)

Does it work with a small single flame lighter or, like with the Anvil, you're better off with a torch like the Firefox Mini?

Any chance I can get a Danivape shipped to Spain @batteryfreeganz ?
Sure sir DM me on instagram: batteryfreeganz or you could email me at batteryfreeganz@gmail.com, thanks for being interested.

I would highly recommend a big torch, it will save your time a lot and give better taste as well

Even I'm the Dani saler but I think if Dani hasn't impressed you enough to buy one so keep waiting seems reasonable. We're still trying our best to improve features like every new batch to get new impressions tbh hehe. I hope soon Dani will be convincing enough for you to buy, thanks man
and it's even better irl than it was on IG so happy with that. Taste has been satisfactory, better than expected with Dyna as frame of reference. thanks for great communication, speedy delivery, the glass stem freebie and the awesome product of course! Best of luck with the business buddy and hope to see that Castle return someday ;)
Thanks a lot Abele we will have more high-quality pictures soon :D:D I'm really happy that you love Dani:love:

Howdy! I received my Dani today and have some very early first impressions after ~8hrs use:

Whats freakin' great:
1. It works, very well. She has her own temperament, but she is not at all difficult to dance with. For anyone that has used a Dynavap x FMJ or an Anvil, the general technique will come second nature, and fat clouds will follow after a minimal amount of practice.
2. It is absolutely fantastic natively. I am typically NOT a native vape user, but there is something about the restriction of the Dani that makes it much more enjoyable via native use... it feels like a cooler native experience than the Anvil to my old windbags.
3. It is nicely machined and executed, and the finish is GOOD, not great; I'll discuss this below, but it is honestly impressive that a small scale shop is turning out anything of this quality, at such a price tag... it's a win for vaporists and their wallets.
4. This one is slightly subjective: it's hefty in the hand; an Anvil with the XL mouthpiece weighs 57.6g, and Danivape is a tad heavier still at 58.3g. So, for those who enjoy a hefty device, this definitely scratches that itch. I dig it.
5. The stem annodization is nicely done, and the colours pop.

What ain't so freakin' great:
1. There are a number of issues with the finish. First and foremost, that everyone should absolutely be aware of who buys a Danivape: there was some type of machine oil residue that leaked out from behind the silver heating ring upon the first heat cycle. It smelled of burning oil and I suspect that's what it was. Thankfully, I was simply doing new vape cleaning and burn offs, but if you buy a Danivape, make absolutely certain you clean it to high hell, and do multiple empty burn offs before using it. I was told by BFG that they use an ultrasonic cleaner, post-manufacturing, but that it may have not gotten under that ring properly (an issue I am certain he will be quick to resolve).

2. I must echo concerns already raised in this thread regarding the lack of chamfering on sharp edges. Many of the 90 degree angles are sharp to the point of feeling borderline slicey... the o-ring grooves, the heat fins, the helix grooves, the inner spiral cooler. All of these edges need to be knocked back, and my understanding is that this design improvement is already in the works for the next batch.
3. The restriction while the carb hole is closed is quite high... in my opinion, too high. It's more restricted than any DV I've owned, and every bit as restricted as the Anvil in it's fully closed orientation. It makes water piece use quite labour intensive, and I find myself opting for native use, which-thankfully-is fantastic.
4. There are a lot of lengthily-threaded pieces, which is not ideal for people with arthritis or hand dexterity issues.
5. The thin black o-rings used on the tip are not great. Viton ISO proof o-rings please @batteryfreeganz!

User Tips:
Still learning the device, but currently my favourite way to hit it is with the Ronxs torch set to single flame, medium length, heating at the middle of the silver ring, and go a full 10 seconds past the second click, then hit it natively.. Glorious, tasty, fluffy clouds. Repeatable, predictable, one hit'ish extraction. :p

All in, this is a very solid device AS IS-completely capable of hanging with the heavy hitters, with some dialing in-but I believe that with the improvements BFG has planned, it is going to go from very solid, to a no-brainer, must buy. The ONE major issue I have, that I have not heard a planned fix for, is the restriction. I may learn to navigate that with heating and breathing techniques; to be seen and followed up in an incoming YouTube instalment. I digress, I'm Bing, and if you're still reading, you can stop now.

Thanks for the write up @BingsBuddery, looks good in that blue.

Let's see what improvements are in the works. It appears BFG is keeping batches relatively small, making it easier to do some updates. With prices as they are or - should they have to go up due to manufacturing costs or
Run into intergenerational compatibility issue - a fair upgrade plan, I'm not done per se with the one unit I got now.

New wooden stems, though I avoid it in vapor path, should be incoming as well.

Anyway, I actually just came to say that I just had my biggest dry vapor hit ever out of my Dani

I agree with you about the restriction. Maybe it's a future improvement...
Going by the description that people gave in their comments/reviews the airflow restriction makes it a deal breaker for me at the moment. The airflow restriction on the DV with the airport closed is a pet peeve of mine and this sounds about the same if not worse. Everything else sounds fantastic. If they improve that in the future I'll buy one for sure.

The new smooth bodies are way more appealing than my knurled one. Great design evolution. Really into that anodizing too! What "intercooler" is inside them now? Mine is just the outer shell, and it does seem like something should go inside.

@batteryfreeganz the stock body of the dani is really begging for a corkscrew. With the restriction the head has, you could make the spirals really tight and plentiful without adding bottleneck. With the way your device stem screws in on both sides, just make something that you unscrew one end and drop in, then use the screw action to hold it tight.

It's this that I was originally trying to design on the hunt for a compact but extended airpath, that ended with the amazed pipe. I even had appropriate sized drill bits lined up that I was going to cut down, but I couldn't find one made of a material that I was comfortable in my airpath.

If I only had a lathe I'd make so many wonderful things...
can you describe what you'd try with a lathe? I literally just got my grizzly 18" for this exact reason. Looking for designs to play with.

man I was so excited to give this thing a spin but I think unfortunately I will be waiting a while. Somehow managed to fuse the herb chamber together (???) the heating tip and the cooling fin chamber part are absolutely cemented to each other and not even my shop vice tools seem to be able to free the thing. I have a feeling I'm going to have to replace that part.

No way... that absolutely sucks. When I first put my cap on, I almost immediately felt the sharpness of the helix grooves grab the threading to the cap. I think I damn near did the exact same thing you did. This is why these edges need to be chamfered back immediately on the next batch.

Anyone who owns a Dani, be really careful when putting the cap on not to catch the threads on the helix grooves of the tip.

That totally sucks though, man.. I'm so glad I stopped applying pressure when I felt it grabbing weird. Looks like I'll be holding off on any YT vids until I see a properly finished tip. This vape has great potential, but I can't ethically recommend that level of roughness.

For anybody who bought the current version and is concerned about this issue: I was able to chamfer (round off) the sharp edges of the helix groves with 10 minutes file work and some sandpaper. It ain't pretty, but it's not catching at all now, so it's definitely worth taking the time to do.

So, I'm over here, colouring between the lines and following rules like a good sheeple, and this guy Seren, in Troy's 420VZ discord server, comes along and blows my mind apart... He says to me, he says: "heat your Dani below the silver ring"... Well holy milky lickers... Check this out...

This was one heat cycle, below the silver ring, using a propane torch, with a 10 second overheat. The only reason I rotated was because it was my first attempt and I was nervous of combustion.. not even close. I can't even find the line of combustion.. I've counted 20 full seconds passed the click, and no combustion. She can suck heat like a thirsty horse chugs agua. I digress:

The song is G.O.A.T by Polyphia, if anyone is curious.

P.S. This was the BEST flower I have.. I definitely can't get it to milk this long with just any old thang.

How would you compare it to the Anvil?

That's a loaded question and I'll eventually tackle it in a YT vid. The short answer is, in terms of money, its getting harder and harder to justify an Anvil. The Dani and the Simrell FMJ have essentially levelled the playing field. If Dani had been available when I was gunning for an anvil, I might not own one in the first place. There are caveats to that statement, however, as Dani is in need of a couple priority improvements if it hopes to truly compete with the Anvil, specifically the airflow restriction and the unfinished crossthread issue. I think its only about 3 minor tweaks from being there, though.
