I have no problem with the wait, knowing about the estimates being off always, though it was nice we did not have to pay until later on in the process, still been quite a while before shipping... Yeah nomad people could be annoyed about the toad, I also remember the process began for batch 2 as they were complete before batch 1 had even shipped... So I think the expectation should be, that Dan will be working on the next batch before yours goes out, because the final finishing steps also take quite a bit of work I suppose? While he is juggling all the other batches and such... Perspective :tup:

What I actually have a problem with, well not such a problem, but it saddens me to hear of people who are afraid to post here with their opinion, instead resorting to private messages, although if you don't have anything new to add I guess it helps to not clutter the thread, that's what the like button is for after all? Sorry if this adds nothing :\

But let’s be real, the “Art” part of this project was completed in October of last year. Batch 1 and 2 were completed at the same time. There is of course the add-ons and assembly of the heater modules, and the case (which is made by steph) but should that really take this much time.

The Toad is of course meant to be Dan’s side project, and I was happy to sit back while he was working diligently at catching up on Nomad stuff (which is a whole other can of worms that I won’t get into). But then to see another batch of toads in the works just leaves a salty taste.

I’ll be happy once I get it, no doubt about it. And I did get an email a little over 2 weeks ago saying batch 2 would be going out in 1.5-2weeks, but as all things with Dan I add at least another 2 weeks - 2 months into any of his time estimates haha.

I'm not trying to be sassy, because I'm serious, if you want to back out, I can take your place in line. We can reach out to Dan if you like.

Agreed, healthy discussion is where it's at. By and large everybody is reasonably nice here.

Personally I don't mind the wait one bit, I already have some perfectly lovely devices, and Dan's work is a Luxury good. I have custom made shoes and some leather bags that were hand made by crafts folk and I experienced similar wait times. It'l be fun to play with when I get it, but my life is in no way negatively affected while I wait.

I know I always come off as a defender of Dan’s, because I am, but I really do understand the frustration. My Nomad is almost done now, but it’s taken far longer than I ever expected for a variety of reasons.

I’m okay with it, but I do want to say that part of the Toad delay (which is also delaying my Toad) has been Dan working on my Nomad I sleeve and some others, and if anyone had a reason to be salty it would be us. :rofl:

I know the timelines have been way off since the beginning, but he stopped taking Nomad II orders to give himself time to catch up. I suspect the third batch of Toads were launched in part because he needs money to live on to be able to continue this at all.

Slipping timelines don’t only mean delays for us, they mean he has to stretch what we paid over a much longer time or find other sources of income. Adding a batch of Toads seems like the best answer to that problem right now since they’re relatively easy to make.

To me it’s clear that he’s really trying to catch up and get on track to the point where he can ship things when he expects to, and I think that wrapping up these old projects will help a lot in that.

I don’t want to see these threads full of salty people, but I also don’t want them to feel like they can’t say anything because the rest of us will attack them or anything. I try to be supportive and encouraging, and I’ve been very patient, but I really do understand and sympathize with everyone who’s waiting and not happy about it.

All I can say now is that this should get better moving forward, and I believe the end results will be 100% worth the wait.

@Everyone - At the end of the day it’s all love. My tone may come across as harsh but as we all know, tone isn’t best conveyed through online hobby forums. The best form of Art is one that invokes an emotional response, whatever that emotion may be. It makes you feel something.

I’ve enjoyed reading the opinions and experiences discussed here very much and I do look forward to seeing those opinions evolve once more and more people start getting them in hand.

I for one am pretty keen on sharing some photos with y’all, And I do hope to see many of your toads too, so keep those pics coming.

Yeah batch 1 Nomaders have got to be most saltiest. ^^^

It's been 7 and a half months since batch 2 was started and the rest of batch 1 still haven't gone out. I often find myself wondering how the heck that is and I'm not even in batch 1.

But hey, honestly the best practice really is to just live in the moment and not worry too much about the future, as corny as it can sound. I avidly believe the universe gives you what you want/need at the time that is right for you.

I’ve seen both Nomads and Toads going out the door though, and mine are nearly done, so I feel like maybe it’s a good time to cut him some slack…?

To be honest I am trying to just get everything out all at once, for lack of a better explaination. I go from morning to when I burn out on Nomad IIs, then I'll usually have a couple hours of Toad time left in me before bed. Switching gears is a good way to eek out some additional focus and energy. It just happens to be that the Toads are.. just so much faster.

That said I am going to be doing the final photoshoot of all the Nomad IIs over the next two days, and posting them up in the Nomad thread. It'll be a few more days of fiddling around with any final things that always seem to pop up, then I'm boxing em up.

I admire the Vaporizers by Dan from afar, every single unit is made with such unique attention to detail. I have come to the point where I have tried nearly all the vapes that made me curious and I dismissed quite a few on the way. Toads and Nomads are the pinnacle of unregulated portable vaporizers to me, thought through in detail and the art is simply outstanding. It's impressive! Don't give the man a burn out, I think everyone who paid and waits for it is better off than those who are back in the line waiting for their turn. Would you really rush a Van Gogh? :)

I skipped the last one but this one is about perfect for me. From what I can tell it is my favorite color.🤞

Although I think I will be happy with my choices when my batch comes up.
