Today i combusted for the first time with the ronx torch. Maybe i was too fast, i should probably consciously hear the cool down click. Or i got greedy because i wanted a second heat cycle. But then there was no click and i realized it too late.

Cleaning after combusting is quite a chore and the smell still lingers in all parts of im sensitive to it, the condenser had residue/black stuff and didnt change to clean steel colour again afterwards.
Do you remove the chamber with the magnet to cool down? The cooldown click happens fairly quickly (10 sec or so) when removed with a magnet and left outside of the oven, the click sound is dampened by the magnet so harder to hear but again cools off fairly quickly.

I like to take a qtip after cleaning as i find it helps to show where there is still some dirty parts, i find the condensor is the dirtiest, try drying/cleaning with a qtip one user said it helped with the combustion taste afterwards

Look what came in the mail today im a happy camper!
XL mouthpiece XL bowl x2 and golden ticket heat shield.
Looking good! That Ronxs torch became my favorite over the Blazer Firefox.

I've had guests over my house so haven't been doing my thing as much. I did hit the Anvil last night, though. After not really vaping much the past few days. Put some rosin in that XL bowl with some nice flower and damn it hit me hard! Seemed like never ending milk in my water piece haha.

One thing I'm really enjoying about the anvil compared to many of my other vapes is the fact that there's absolutely no stirring required with the anvil.

On another note I had my first combustion event and subsequently my first cleaning.

I use different airflow settings when using native (more restricted airflow) vs water or jhook (less restricted airflow). I heated my normal sized bowl and let it rip on my water piece before realizing I had too restrictive airflow set and it ended up combusted.

Totally user error.

Disassembly and cleaning was easy. I watched the assembly video on the site and soaked everything except the heat shield in iso. Rinsed and let it dry and I was back in business in pretty short order.

As others have pointed out there really should be instructions included with the unit. Even a QR code that brings you to the FAQ to the helpful videos would be better than nothing.

@TeaCup - the magnet is acting as a heatsink for the Anvil's chamber. It tranfers heat away from the chamber & into the magnet - meaning the chamber will reach it's cool-down click faster than if let to cool on it's own or while still screwed into the oven.
Try searching 'heatsink' & check wiki for a more detailed explanation.

I'm feeling pretty chuffed as I just picked up the Ronx dual flame kitchen torch on Prime for £15.99. Here's the UK link for anyone else who might be interested:
Thanks for putting in the legwork & posting all your thoughts on this one @bossman - much appreciated.
Hoping my regular trusted butane (Newport Zero) will keep it running smoothly. Been around 35 - 50 seconds to the click with my current torches so definitely looking forward to stepping things up a notch with the Ronx.

Think I'm about ready to feel the full weight this thing can put down . . . .

Could I please suggest an 18mm FATTY adaptor for the Anvil??

I've been using mine daily for nearly four weeks now, this thing rips! I highly recommend it.

I find its best to do a deep clean every 4-5 days with iso, mainly the condenser I find the chamber keeps real clean. As I type this I am wondering... I cant think of a chamber that is easier to keep clean.

I've used a range of torches but have the most success with the blazer stingray - http://blazerproducts.com/the-stingray-gb-4001-micro-torch.html - which looks like a medium sized desktop torch that was available where I live.

Strangely, or happily I still havent combusted in the Anvil. I have came very close! and oh yes it works!! But never combusted.. yet...

According to tracking my .2 bowl and xl mouthpeice should be here in a day or two, I'll let you know how I go

I saw a Blazer Stingray while I was at a glass shop over the weekend. Didn't get it, although my mind wanted it. Funny how the Anvil made me want to try a bunch of different torches lol.

So it's all dependent on the torch used, quality of flower, flame length/distance, water piece used- but the XL bowl rips pretty hard. After some time with it I learned the volume and vapour this thing puts out. I was clearing the full bowl in one go, but I can't always do it with the XL. It's seriously like taking a crazy dab at times. If you're in to seeing huge clouds, you'll love the .2 bowl lol.

It may be overkill. For me personally, I could never clear the .2 bowl. The .5 bowl does it for me. I bought the .2 just to try it and punish my buddies who think they are tough guys LOL. I will say that it if you use the .2 bowl and just grab a little nug and don't pack it tightly it is just awesome. I use my Anvil exclusively through water. I tried real hard to finish a bowl with one hit packed in he .2 and there was no way I could finish it with 1 hit. The amount of vapor was just too dense and filled my glass instantly, and just kept going. I was high for like 3 hours!!!!

I love the new XL bowl, after a rather rocky start to our relationship

I find it so much harder to combust in, I’ll set my Firefox to max flame and aim the tip of the inner blue flame at the thermal battery.

25sec click roughly, I stop at the first click as the second seems to come and go. My .1 bowl has a much more reliable second click but I wouldn’t dare push that to the second click

Perfect dark brown AVB every time. My .1 bowl is so much more finicky and would combust with this setup without a doubt.

I’ve got one of the new style .1 bowls but it seems to exhibit similar behaviour to the old style bowl. I mean I did get it on the second waitlist drop of the UE so maybe they’ve changed since and heat similarly to the .2 bowl.

DV caps have similar inconsistency so I’ll put it down to the nature of bimetallic disks

Because it takes me 3 long draws to get a full bowl down. Im not sure I'm ready for a double load!
Yeah, it may be a bit much if you find clearing the full bowl a little hard. I don't mean to overhype, but yeah for this device to put out clouds like that is crazy. If you have a low tolerance or are intimidated by the bigger hits, the XL bowl may not be for you. If you have a higher tolerance and like to go to cloud city, then it's definitely for you.

Exactly lol. Like many here, I have some decent lungs on me and a higher tolerance. But even then, there are times where I don't feel like clearing that .2 bowl in one go lol. I'm pretty much a solo session guy these days, but I would definitely challenge a friend to clear the XL bowl in one go. Especially if you make a concentrate sandwich in the bowl :dog:.

I didn't think the XL bowl was too different from the full bowl at first. After some time with it and my tolerance dipping slightly- I could tell a difference. It's like a marathon and not a sprint with the .2. Everyone's different though and some of y'all are probably like "Dude, the full bowl to me is a marathon!" lol. And others may think the .2 bowl is nothing.

I received my Anvil in red along with the utility case. I haven’t read as far through the thread as I’d like but figured what the heck give it a go! I used a single flame Honest torch I have always found to be consistent. I heated it up near the end until I heard the first click and got busy inhaling. Pretty impressive! I heated again after I heard the “return click” and wow! Great vapor and effects!!

I have now used my Anvil each evening the last several days and will again tonight. I thought for sure last night I had combusted but just some insanely dark leftovers, no ash. I like it very much but as a lightweight I can see myself using the modest heating method most often. All in all I’m glad I got one!

Something I haven't seen mentioned yet is warranty stuff. Am I missing it or is there no warranty information on the anvil?

Anyways last week I was using my utility case to hot swap bowls and the magnet in the cap came out with the bowl. I emailed John with an image and asked if this was how it was supposed to work. He replied quickly and said this was not supposed to happen and that he'd have a replacement cap in the mail ASAP. I ordered some accessories I had been eyeing anyway and asked him to ship the replacement cap and my new accessories together. He said that was no problem.

The experience was fast and easy.

Oooo that Hydro Stash. I think that’s what the creator ended up calling it anyways. Never thought to use it with the Anvil.
I did a half-bowl assuming it would be a fatal mistake but it so wasn't! Flavor was a bit muted, but that little tablespoon or so of water was turbulating up a storm and the vapor was a coooool thick mist! Obviously the Anvil doesn't fit the stash compartment--it fits an M--but if it did and had a magnet it would be ~fully pocket-ready. Assuming your other pocket held some herb and a torch.

Is that the new magnet or a diy?
I think it's the new one. I believe he mentioned it would be, and it seems plenty strong so no complaints. Works fine for removing/replacing the bowl. Beautiful piece of wood, well thought out, very handy. My only addition I think would be a stash for another bowl so I can always have the full and .5 at hand. He included his little oblong printed funnel and that thing is handy af!
