Just ordered a classic in indigo blue (just 1 Jyarz in with order this time, I’m sure I’ll buy more from what I hear from people on here) and an orange sleeve and other vape bits and bobs I’ve been needing for a while from good old vapefiend, any ways we have a famous soft drink here in Scotland called irn bru, an I thought the indigo blue with the orange sleeve would be perfect for the look and colour of the beverage :rofl:thought it was worthy of a laugh, what you think ? Pretty good match a think eh haha.

I wish they made tiny boveda packs that could fit inside a Chico. Like if they made small pellets or something like that.

I’ve been keeping my tolerance low, using more edibles, and taking multiple days off, so if I grind up 1 gram and put it in my Chico, it’ll last me 3 or 4 weeks. I wish I could keep it fresher.

Right now I jam a boveda pack into my Jyarz Classics with unground buds and it works well enough. It’d be nice if we had a better solution though
I use the 1g sized Bovedas in my Chicos. They'll fit ok if you push them down into the bottom and let the sides taco up a little bit
Hmmm... This size might work. https://store.bovedainc.com/products/hemp-boveda-size-1
I may have to investigate.

Just saw @RustyOldNail response..
next size up leaves more air though…
how soon does small one dry out? I could live with a month or so and then rehydrate.
Thanks, this is the size I was referencing above! Also, I haven't found that these dry out faster than the other Bovedas I've used fortunately. I have gotten a few dryer new batches from the company (via Amazon) though unfortunately.

It came today love it, pretty geed mach for the irn bru drink haha and I’m already thinking about getting more:lol:, planing another classic and 2 chicos with glass inserts for when wanting to pack light, anyways managed to sqeezein in 2.8g bud (pics 2 prove and all lol) but buds were tiny tho (average density for a haze i think tho), ground up bud holds over 3.5g:tup:, anyone got a chico with glass insert ?, if so what roughly does it hold in ground material ? Asking as I do sometimes need to pack light for the day, no harm in asking right?, it will also be used with a dynavap exclusively .

I tend to favor the higher walls of a classic for out and about ground herb. It’s never happened to me so probably is unfounded, but I fear the wind will blow my stash out of Chico. That said, I use my Chicos regularly for large runs of concentrate (it can hold a ton) and [pressed] pollen.

That blue/ orange is a great looking combo! Enjoy your classy weed jyarz! You will never go back to baggies or film cases!

I didn’t even think about the wind there being a possible bitch, I’d mostly be using (chico) inside like at family members houses etc, just thought would be perfect for the Dynavap with the Chico’s concave glass, I’m really enjoying it (classic) these thing are really tuff already dropped on concrete floor and absolutely no damage, We’re not really lucky enough in ole Scotland to get some nice sticky concentrates (you lucky legal bastards😂), mostly bud, in fact only bud around where I live. and thanks I do like the colour combo, it’s a well known colour combo over here. Aye a love these but I use them for when am out and about because of the durability, at home I use classic Kilner jars which is basically a ball glass jar you see in America or wherever else.

So I got some of those #1 Bodeva packs to try out in my Chico’s.

First, I folded in quarters and put them directly in with ground herbs…

Needless to say, not a good solution. I had to take out the pack every time I wanted to scoop herbs, and the herbs would get into the crevices causing spillage. I don’t like losing terps from handling!

However, when I folded in half, I can fit the pack in the lid very snuggly, and it doesn’t fall out.
It seems to seal just as well (unlike a cvault, when pack goes near edges, the seal is broken) as I have no odors coming out when closed.

Time will tell how long the pack lasts but so far it does seem to help keep the herbs less dry. I will follow up in a few weeks.

I think I already mentioned in previous post, but I normally grind about 1.5 grams into my Chico’s, which leaves a little space. If you don’t mind packing tightly, you could probably get about 2.5 g in there.

I use those 1g Bovedas in my Chicos as well 👍. Wanted to say be careful with the folding though, as I've had a couple split and form a leak from this (!) Now I just push them down until they concave in the bottom of the cup, and then place the herb on top.

I don't understand needing a boveda pack in something as small as a chico.
How long does it really take you to go through a chico's worth of herb?!?

Agreed. Since I store at 62%, I like the herb to dry out slightly in my Chico’s. Better results in the vape for me.

Now and then, if I removed too much from my CVault, I’ll store the excess buds in a Papi, and there is just enough room for a Bovida pack, since I’m not sure how long it will be until I open it again.

I usually grind 1ish grams of 4-5 strains in my Chico’s and use them over the course of 2-3 weeks.
By the 2nd week, the ground herbs are usually very dry.

I am really happy with putting the #1 boveda in the lid so far - in week 2, they have just the right amount of moisture for me.
It’s not a huge difference, but I like the flavor better with a tiny bit of moisture as opposed to bone dry.
But to each their own!

Jill, you should do whatever works for you.
However, your usage is probably not typical compared to most.
Some probably use up a full CHICO in a day or two..... and don’t want anything in their way.... :)

In my case, sometimes I'll move the last nugget of something special to a Chico until I finish it up, rather than let it take up a whole Classic. And I've also done what Jill NYC mentions above and have several Chicos filled with different strains for the next week or so. And I'm also a relative lightweight with way too many devices that exceed way too well at microdosing too, I'll admit!

Admittedly, what I usually do with different strains in the same larger container is just put each different strain in it's own bag, and the bags are put into my larger container together. They stay separate, and still all share the moisture of the boveda pack.

Regular plastic bags, including ziplock, are permeable. So the humidity still distributes across them all while being sealed in my larger container (like a Sachmo, or Big Papi).

Just got some chicos since I loved the classics so much, only problem I’ve noticed with the chico is all the ground bud sticks to the lid like shit to a blanket and doesn’t easily brush off, anyway to remedy this?. Also the classic with ground bud doesn’t stick as bad as the Chico’s do, an the classic lid brushes ground bud off much easier. Maybe just me?.

this is somewhat avoidable... I believe its a bit of static that causes the bud to hold onto the gasket.

good news though- the debris will have no affect on your airtightness. You will still be smell proof after years of buildup.
more good news- it wipes/cleans up easy with a qtip dipped in ISO. One pass and you will be clean.

Cleaning the threads can be slightly more tedious, but you will never need to unless you just want fully clean aesthetics. I go YEARS without cleaning threads.

I find the gasket in the chico to be slightly more tacky/sticky?, just a pain in the arse when out and about, bud ends up pressed against the gasket and where the glass touch, aye av been usin the classics since I got them and the threads are like brand new, there my favourite jyarz i own.

Chicos were designed for concentrate, it would not surprise me if a different material was used on these gaskets vs the others.

Mentioned before but I don't use Chicos for flower as I prefer higher walls, just pollen and concentrates (it will hold a TON of rosin!).

Well no much concentrates here, zero in fact (not legal), just bud. Just a shame as sometimes I don’t need to take a classic with me, sometimes something smaller is needed instead. Wished they used a different material for the lid gasket, the constant brushing and needing to carry a brush is a bit of a bummer.

Chico - sticky gasket:
It could be my imagination but I think my Chico gasket got slightly less sticky/ less static electricity after a thorough wash with Dawn detergent.
I wash all new pieces, to clean them and learn how they disassemble etc.

Have not used it lately so not sure about this….
