Herbie V2 by Vape Engineering - 510 dry herb vaporizer

My herbie arrived 3 days ago, had enough time to test it. I also have the herbie v1 and a tinymight so I can compare them against each other.

I really love the optimizations the new herbie v2 has. Herbie 1 could never give me all that what my tinymight can: constant extraction, reliable, easy to handle, cool vapor. At the end I was okay with it but I used it very rare. The new herbie v2 changes all... after a bit of learning I like it very much. I see the improvements and enjoy them. Glass balls are a good idea. But why didn't you @Vape Engineering decide to use them +1mm bigger in dimensions? I managed to completely clog the 7 holes with fresh cleaned balls. If they were bigger I think this couldn't happen.

At first I had problems because I couldn't get accurate resistance reading and so the tc went nuts and all I got was combustion or whispy clouds. I use arctic fox on a sinuous p80 mod. Settings: Tcr 102, 60w, 180°c (temp stepping up to 220°c)

So I decided to reassemble the heater mesh and spread it a little bit so it is absolute symmetrically arranged now under the herb chamber.
My resistance readings became more accurate and reliable (cold 0.187 ohm) afterwards and no more combustion occurred. I like to use 2 of the 3 air holes open and I use capsules only which I turn around at the end of my vape session to get better extraction. For now on my tinymight can stay at home when I'm on the go. Herbies size, stealth factor and extraction power suits me very well for this. Paired with capsules it's easy to handle too.

I love it that the capsules fit so perfectly now into the herbie v2. The capsules adapter ring on my herbie 1 was horrible because capsules only fitted when I pushed them in like I was the incredible Hulk when they were new.

No more parts falling apart, the all in one design of herbie v2 is great. Thank you for that improvement.

The tiny case is very good and a beloved addition so herbie v2 is safe and stealth when carrying around and some capsules with herbs fit in too. Nice! I'm a e-smoker so herbie in its case with some capsules is all I need when I'm on the go. I asked for it in the v1 thread and now v2 has it included. Great!

I have a suggestion for a top cap revision. This would make cleaning and refilling much more easy because I realized that these small balls clog up the airflow very fast. After 5 or 6 capsules I can feel the draw restrictions.

Could you make the "14er bong adapter-mouthpiece" part (which contains the glass balls and screen) on the top cap detachable with threads? So you could screw it off, drop it in a jar of iso for cleaning and screw in another one already filled with a new screen and fresh balls and you are ready to continue.
You could sell it as spare parts. I would buy 2 at least. 3 when the price is reasonable. This would also become handy when I'm longer away from home and cannot clean the top cap. Just change it and you are fresh and ready go on. In my usage with capsules that's all what gets dirty. So simple.
Please think about it.

Herbie v2 has a lot of potential, I'm very happy that Vape engineering didn't stop after the v1. I will pimp my herbie v1 with the new heater mesh and hope it will give him a new life in my vape arsenal. Thank you Vape engineering for the two already folded coils which I asked for during my v2 order. My Herbie v1 says also thank you for it. Great customer service and support.

Next week my Mechlyfe Paramour SBS arrive and I will report how good the experience is compared to my p80 with arctic fox.

Does the paramour also have a comparable custom firmware like arctic fox or is it good as it is out of the box?

Good job on the coil. So are you running you're herbie in wattage mode ?
Thank you. I tried both wattage and TC and result was the same. I'll do more testing today.
That looks too uneven in the pic with the dark abv stuck to the screen yeah.

It doesn't use SS304 but if you want to pm me your email address I can send you the Splinter and Splinter Z ecigprofiles I used to use before I moved on from color DNA mods for all my RBT 510s. Someone with more technical understanding would have to let you know which if any of the specifics might be useful.
Yeah it's a really uneven roast for now. I'll pm you for those profiles, i think it can't hurt to try them.
If I'm not mistaken, shouldn't mesh not have changed colors?
I made it glow once or twice I think and that's when the color changed. Hope I didn't ruined it.

I'm a bit puzzled that most Herbie owners have success, at least in watts, with "basic" box mods and not me with my DNA 😅

This is nice to read and thank you for taking the time to do the comparison. My Herbie arrived at LAX In LA 4 days ago. Im in San Diego so I should get it any business day now. I can’t believe I passed on the Paramour mod kit because I thought it didn’t run off of 18650’s. What a bonehead. The Wismec Gen 3 will have to do. Can’t wait to get the thing.

I ordered a Paramour from Everzon because of the price but it does ship from china so expect an extra few weeks like you would with a Sourcemore Hong Kong warehouse:

I have a brand new RX Gen 3 Dual, IPV5, a couple of older Aspire NX75’s and a Smok AL85. I know the first two can handle the Herbie….but those side by side mods are sexy as hell I have to admit. And I saw that on Evermore. I hate waiting for stuff like that. Still kicking myself for not buying the kit. I’ll probably order a Paramour and just wait using what I have until then. They just look so cool.

Yeah I've always gotten good performance from the venerable rxg3d though and it's a tidy size for a two cell mod. I too was lured by the siren song of the side by side. My habit with all non-US warehouse orders is to pretend I forgot I even ordered it. My spidey sense will generally perk up at three weeks and it feels more like I wasn't thinking about it the whole time

I downloaded SS304 material tu out in escribe but not a profile. Is it different ?
Just went to check on steam-engine but don't see where there are profiles (don't see no search feature neither).

I get the message instantly and there is no heat at all.

Retried this morning and I gets a little bit better. Not sure it's the cause but I changed TCR value for 0,00105 as I saw it mentioned on an e-cig forum.
Good thing is it seems to not giving the "temp protect" message anymore.
Bad thing is I get a real hot spot. There is always some weed sticking to the MP screen and it gets charred.

Below a photo of the coil I built following the instructions and a photo of the herbes sticking to the MP screen

Appart from performance right now I have to say that this vape is very well made. I think i would have preferred that all the pieces screw together (at least the body to the deck) but the fit is very good with the o-rings.
If I can't sort things out with my mod I'm gonna wait confirmation from members that this vape works perfectly in TCR with the paramour and then buy it.
That's a Lost Vape Paranormal 250C right? I have a Paramour coming from China but I don't expect it anytime soon, and so my Paranormal will be the mod to use in the meantime. I'll let you know how mine works when the Herbie arrives.

It doesn't use SS304
The Herbie uses SS304 or am I forgetting an update from @Vape Engineering ? I was planning on selecting the 304SS profile on my DNA mod, or is the issue that we're using a mesh and it expects a single wire? Or does that not matter?

These sbs are sleek looking, I need to get into a local shop and see if any carry a similar one so I can check the size in my hand. When you get yours in @bossman I’ll have to remember to ask you to upload a pic of it next to the rxg3d for size comparison. What’s the TC capability on these sbs like? Or is wattage only the move with these?

The Paramour does TC yeah. I don't have any rxg3ds anymore: sold or gave them to friends with other Splinters. I only have red panda mods and some Rim Cs plus a dna mod I should sell

Does it support custom TCR values? How people use it if it doesn't? The preset TC modes didn't work for me even once lol (in other mods though, I don't own the Paramour).

My Herbie was exported from Germany and received at LAX on January 4th. I could have walked to LAX and back home by now with that thing. Wonder what the hell is going on. I ordered the release day. I need to try it with the balls ASAP!!! And get a better mod and drip tip.,..I feel like the other people waiting on their Anvil. Got that now where’s my Herbie??

Yeah, it does! I got my Paramour earlier this week (no Herbie yet, though). Every website I've seen advertising it for some reason does not include mention of its support for TCR, despite the fact that that seems like a kind of significant feature :hmm:

I agree with @SquirrelMaster that you should blame Covid, etc. Mine has been chilling in Rodgau, Germany for like a week. I bet it is nice there. Hope Herbie is enjoying the sights on his leisurely vacation. Although if he is anything like Herbie the Love Bug, I suspect there are shenanigans.

Oh, that's nice to know. Honestly yeah it is weird. I do suggest buying a box mod that supports AF or something similar anyway because of the custom cutoff timer feature and the multiple profiles support. It's a game changer IMO.

There's a big difference between TC support and TCR support. You can set a custom TCR value with TCR supported mods, so you can find your sweet spot. But like @purpletweed said, it does support TCR anyway.

My Herbie2 is sitting in Rodgau for a week now according to DHL tracking. Odd, TM used DHL and package came in 3 days during the last Covid Peak.

As far as TC MODS, be careful with what you choose. I collected many ECig mods, and TC is NOT the same on all of them. Some that have both TC and custom TCR, are horrible in TC mode. My best mods are my DNA chipsets. Many others seem to like flashing a compatible mod with the AF firmware, recommended mods and settings are in the SPLINTER thread.

Yes we use for Herbie a 30 Mesh made of SS304.

A german customer contacted us regarding problems with the mesh. So I made a quick video yesterday. It is just in german but there will be more "professional" videos in future. I am still not sure if you want to hear me speaking english :D

So here's the video: https://vimeo.com/manage/videos/664011844

at the end, the abv is shown.

*****Edit*****
Everybody who contacted us regarding missing mesh or missing parts will be sent tomorrow. So we will bring the packages to DHL store tomorrow

So the Paramour auto shut off timer cannot be adjusted then? That's great if it does have TCR, but if you can't hold down the button for longer than 10 or 15 seconds at a time without it shutting off on you, that makes it pretty annoying and probably not worth my picking it up as I've been tempted now lol

I don't have that specific mod, but in my experience with box mods in general, you can't change the cutoff ("overtime protection") timer. So yeah, that's one of the reason I bought the wismec rx gen3 dual. But check out nfeteam.org and see if there's a smaller supported device. I know eleaf pico is supported and the lost vape grus is unofficially supported (pretty difficult to install AF on it though).

Thanks, I've got plenty of devices, so I'm not looking for anything else haha, plan is to use it with the small RimC I just got that I am going to put Arctic Fox on, but I am tempted by the side by side of the Paramour of course, however yeah if it's stuck with a 10 second auto shut off that is pretty useless... I guess no one actually has it yet though to check?? Yeah so the RX G3D, even does have a secret menu, where you can change the auto shut off in the stock firmware from 10 seconds to 15 seconds at least, but it's not enough lol perhaps okay here though?

My DNA’s can be set to 15 seconds, more then enough time for me, the 1st hit on most convection devices is the warmup, so if I want to begin another cycle, I press the power button again, not a big deal for me.

That's so cool, I wish more mods would do this.

Yeah, I definitely can live with 15 secs cutoff, that's a huge difference. It's just that 10 secs that always shut you off mid hit so it sucks.
About the Paramour, I totally get it lol, it looks sick with the herbie v2
