Discontinued RBT Splinter (All Versions)

This is seriously testing my “no backups” policy.

If I didn't have multiple Splinters I would be thinking seriously about one, given that they are no longer available. I still find them to be among the best vapes out there. After my TM I think his are the best battery vapes I own.
The best Splinter prices have always been new from RBT. I'll try to find someone who needs this and just doesn't know it yet since I already have four V2s and they're all backups to my Zs 😂

I bought a couple, just because I’m envious of @bossman’s stable of Splinters, my stable of 4 is looking thin in comparison. Trying to decide if my brother is worthy of me gifting him one, after 56 years the jury is still out.

Got in on the BOGO sale. Never used RBt product but wasn't wild about running wattage with my Glow atty. Pretty excited tbh. Is it as easy as googling how to set up a mod in TCR mode? Will likely buy a Gen3 if the setup isn't too difficult
Love the rxg3d. The istick rim c is a good shout for a single cell. @508phineas on IG for a vigreaux cooling stem.

Send me a pm with your email and I'll send the arctic fox config file for the V2. You still have to do a few initial config steps but the file takes the guesswork out of the settings part at least and once you're set up it's just a matter of adjusting temps or switching profiles to use wattage (which is also great on those mods)

The XL8r stems fit the v2's yes? I find the varying joint sizes from RBT confusing. May end up grabbing some and WPA from vape fiend in UK.

Yes, it's not thaaaat confusing:
Splinter = 19/19
Xl8r = 19/19
Milaana3 = 19/19
SplinterZ, Zion, Milaana1,2 = 19/22

19/19 is an RBT custom size, shorter than the 19/22 standard, all 19/19 male stems fit 19/22 female bowls, just not vice versa...

If you just have Splinter V2, you have the custom RBT 19/19 size female glass so it means any current RBT stems you find are going to fit, I don't know anywhere you can find the old 19/22 RBT stems, they are all stocking only 19/19 stems now... You can get custom-made stems, and wooden stems, that are 19/19 as well... The first number is the width of the joint, the second number is the length of the joint, so any 18aka 18.8aka 19mm joint can be cut down to fit, most common standard is 19/26...

Appreciate the help Shit Snacks, concerned about cooling with stock straight stems, but don't have IG to contact the gentleman who makes aftermarket stems. So, I stumbled upon ordering XL8R stems from UK. Regardless, looking forward to this device.

Oh just message @Vlad the Inhaler that is Phineas here, he'll see it eventually if you're in no rush to order! It's honestly worth just getting Instagram for that though and deleting it after? Otherwise custom?

@Shit Snacks, if you don’t mind explaining, what would be the concern with using a 19/22 in a splinter V2? It doesn’t seem to be about bottoming out in the joint…is it about the taper of the splinter’s lining, or the glass cracking, or what? Thanks

It is about bottoming out, because you don't want the joint to rest on the heater screen, you want it to lock in properly with the ground glass connection, that could lead to a potential cracked glass or just simply poor performance where you have to hold it together for proper airflow... My original Splinter V2 was great and very beautiful, I was pleasantly surprised that my 19/22 original Zion Milaana stems were fitting in it, no issues, then I go to pick it up in the glass was cracked from the strain, one of the stems had a longer joint than the other, there is so much variance in glass... So you can also just test whatever you stems you have carefully, see how well they fit, if they are sealing properly and not putting strain where they shouldn't, then they could be fine to use regardless of the classification... None of mine really fit properly though and I try not to risk it at all, I have so many nice Lamart stems that I wish I could use with my RBT stuff but I don't have any way to grind down the joints so I am out of luck... Rimmed basket screens are another thing that make this so difficult, we used to have rimless internal RBT screens with the 19/22 stems...

Where are you getting the replacement glass? I broke the glass of my all-time favourite Splinter for the second time and would love to get it back in action.
the glass itself is from - https://www.mountainglass.com/search?keywords=19/22 which gets recommended on here from time to time

then I've made some tooling around cutting and sanding it - its self contained in a big plastic storage bin. cordless dremel mounted to an X/Y table. I would not use a cordless one in the future but I really liked the low profile on it. for sanding thats a 3 jaw chuck that fits a cordless drill

Wow $200 for exotic Mi2 and $150 for walnut Mi2, and this $200 Mi3/Splinter bundle deal is even crazier! Although if you have to join mySpace for Mi2 that is pretty crazy lol Seems like you do need Instagram for this one, not just email, although you could try? Moving the last of the stock...
