The Nomad From Morwood

The button in the photo was a mock-up, based on what I thought the actual button would look like. I messed up and forgot to change out the button in this photo for the actual.

Once I finished cutting and polishing the fossilized dinosaur bone, it came out quite a lot different than I had guessed.

Here is the actual button completed. This is a unique form of fossilized bone called "agatized" dinosaur bone. The bone itself was converted into agate through the fossilization process, pretty cool!

The picture doesn't do it justice, but I have been getting stoned off my ass all week using this Nomad II. I love it.

I've been waiting for a good day and nice weather to take some outdoor shots with it, so hopefully I will have something to post soon!

Not able to provide pictures, but the Nomad ll is absolutely stunning, though not gaudy or gimmicky. It is beautifully understated with many details to be appreciated, much like a Japanese Zen Garden. It is a true masterpiece of craftsmanship, artistic vision, and never ending devotion to make the best. Works as well as it looks, and I think everyone that owns one will find a method they prefer, so when you get it experiment. Personally, I use the high heater, pack the tube with my herb and lightly tamp the load so it doesn't fall into the heater. I can get 4 or 5 good tokes, tasty and plenty of vapor. I typically hold the button down until I can feel and taste the vapor in my mouth than simply feather the button to keep the vapor production consistent. I think the smaller diameter (14mm) of the Nomad stem versus that of the larger (19mm) stems of many other convection vaporizers makes for a much more efficient and enjoyable experience. As far as the aesthetics and quality of the Nomad build, there is no vaporizer made by any other company or individual that can compare. Yes the Nomad is expensive, but you definitely get what you pay for. When you get one, just look at the skill and craftsmanship that goes into the many different modules and you will begin to appreciate how much dedication went into the functionally and fit of this top of the line vaporizer. Dan is a master of his craft and we are all very lucky and privileged to be among those that can own a small piece of his genius. Sincere thanks and gratitude Dan, and may you keep on keeping on.

Congrats Y’all! It’s a little surreal to finally get it in hand isn’t it? Enjoy, learn, increase your comfort, connect, remember its a special device and its yours.

We’ve gotta have a Morrison device owners and appreciators camping trip in Dans woods sometime.

Good luck. Tempted to say may the force be with you as refrence to the first post of this thread and the Nomads origins but thats a little corny.

Here’s how I imagine we’d start the day:

10:00 am: fire up nomads
10:05 am: show and tell with Nomads
11:30 am: fire up Nomads
12:00 pm: eat lunch
1:00 pm: harvest lichen
2:00 pm: fire up Nomads
2:05 pm: look for mushrooms, moss, lichens while firing up Nomads
3:00 pm: snack time

@Dan Morrison Fascinating update 4, thank you!

"This is definitely my least favourite type of cut to make on the lathe... it's slow, and always seems to make horrific noises no matter what I do! "

That quote from you about the cut off tool had me dying. Used to be able to relate to that. And super exciting to hear just how much faster the padded sanding disk is for shaping bodies.

My excitement for this bad boy is starting to ramp up!

Can you give us a run down of where things are at for batch 2?

Can we please agree to let Dan finish batch 1 before we look for more updates on batch 2? I would absolutely love a photo of my batch 1 nomad II getting closer to being finished, but I'm not gonna keep asking for one while we're in the home stretch here.
"Trust the process." ✌🏻😊

EDIT: and just fyi last I heard from Dan he's got the final units of batch one on his table as we speak for the finishing work. We should be seeing them any day now! 🤗
