Sticky Brick Labs Vaporizer

Just got this, zebra wood
Very nice looking OG. The OG is my favorite by a long shot. I’ve got my OG on the cheap in Maple but would like to upgrade my wood at some point. I will add that the maple, while kinda boring to me, It’s beginning to age in color. It’s darkening like a quality pair of leather gloves age over time with hard work.

I use my OG only with the restrictor disk. I don't need to focus too much on how close I get to the intake. It only needs a few seconds more to produce the heat I like for my herbs... Plus the chance of combustion is really really low.
That my experience also, I simply cannot combust with it in, I’ve found out that the restrictive disc really does restrict this thing, it’s taking me way way to many heat cycles to finish a bowl and get dark roast, thinking about dare I say it, taking the disc out🤭, anyone else have this issue? Interested to hear as I’m still very new to the sticky brick family.
Edit-turning up the flame helped(disc still in), I actually really like the way it’s hitting now, ah learning is fun when you get high doing it.

Keep your gas level to the max whenever you can, so the torch power stays the same. This way you have an stable factor and play with the draw & the flame distance.
The whistle sings you're doing it right, then just spin the flame to module the notes for a good harmonics and became the dragon at the exhale.

Love my OG brick so much I bought a junior for travel. Only had 1 bowl from it and all I can say it’s totally different from the OG, this thing will take some fun practice. Sorry for the sideways pics and a post after a post was too excited.

Would love to hear more about your thoughts on the differences. I know I've seen that the Junior is described as having a steeper learning curve. But very curious about other differences.

Well I’ve only had 1 bowl from the junior and I’m struggling a little bit to get decent clouds buts it still early days, but with the OG I just took to it instantly, Vapor on the OG is obviously cooler but the jr isn’t unpleasant. I will get more practice with the jr tonight:sherlock:
Edit-the junior needs a longer flame than the OG to produce good vapour, now I’m slowly learning:rofl:

Are using them with the restrictor disks?
Do you whistle them equally?
Are both at the same tone?
Thanks

In terms of taste and durability, what's everyone preference in wood type?

Padauk, Cherry or Canary?

Edit: purple heart as well

My cherry Micro tastes neutral; Canary OG tastes neutral; Purple-heart Roasty tastes neutral; Padauk: my Noisy Cricket has no flavor but I've read that it bothers some people. As far as wear is concerned, I wouldn't think that it should matter amongst these, but I will say that colored woods tend to darken/lose their color over time. I'm not sure how the Padauk would hold up, but the purple heart may eventually gray back in color. The cherry, on the other hand, is a wood that is known for aging nicely; it will deepen and maybe even get warmer in color over time.
