Yeah it was nice to use now, two hits on one, two on two, two on three, and one on four, 3/4 full of medium ground grape soda herbs loosely scooped in the pot... There are a lot of benefits to this unit's design, simple and effective, but I guess I just prefer tinymight and firewood7 through dry glass personally!

And way cheaper. The Tafée Bowle is crazy expensive...

I still use the Bowle as a daily driver....its just that its not the only one I use each day now. For several months it was all Bowle. I've settled into a rotation where I might use the Bowle, my OG Solo or my EVO. My rotation can and will change over and over again based on history. Of the three vapes mentioned....The only one that I don't need/want water to be used with is the Bowle.

For example....The CNN NYC concert starts at 5PM and ends around 10PM. I will use the Bowle metal grinder to fill four bowls with my best flower and I will also use the Bowle large cup with my vodka and cranberry. I will be fully charging the Bowle just before 5PM and will probably charge it once more during the concert. I will time the second charge to coincide with finishing a session around the halfway point in the concert and will also finish my vodka at the same time so I can prep and be ready to go for the second part of the concert with a new fill of vodka and flower. Why the Bowle in this context? Springsteen is next!!!!!! and I want one or more hits right F'n now.

Yeah I pissed on the rug...... so what
My Bowle has been making it's way back into more frequent rotation! It really is a great vape and I do enjoy it a lot. Just wish they would come out with a glass coffee mug already :( not being able to have a hot beverage is a major down side to the whole vape/cup thing since coffee is my go to. My powder coating is still fine on the stem and only have the minor scratches at the bottom of the oven chamber that everyone has and mine have never gotten any worse since they happened. Don't see any need to grab a machined stem and only sort of interested in the WPA? Just want my mug! I completely gave up on the potter+ I never got the fill right, static cling held onto tons of trichomes and more under the pot chamber :mad: Much prefer scooping from my BCG. But this past week having a big fat bowl of skunk haze and savoring it all morning 🌄 has been very delightful. These long broken up sessions are really working for me and the Bowle does them so well 😁

Anybody else put their stem in freezer before vaping?
For cbd which never tastes as good, losing some flavor to cold stem is ok, for cooler big hit capabilities.
Just tried this and it was fantastic!!!!! Love the super cool hit and I got 0 tickle starting at level 4. Wish I could session a whole bowl but the cooling goes away pretty quickly, still it was very nice while it lasted and I'll definitely be playing around with it more

Sorry for the double post can't insert quotes

Ground up some Trulieve Stardawg (27% THC) using the metal potter so I had 4 pots ready. Fully charged the Bowle. About 5 minutes before the concert started I made a triple vodka and cranberry with tons of ice using the large cup. I waited till the last second to make the vodka/cranberry because, based on past experience, I knew the ice would melt fairly fast once I started vaping and I wanted to preserve it.

To set the stage....Big screen TV, surround sound/woofer and those comfy mechanical seats.

I took a hefty drink and started my first pot at level 2 pretty much when when the concert started. The stem was chilled because of all the ice and the first hit was moderately cloudy and super terpy. The second hit was massively milky, tasty and I almost coughed it up. I think the cooled stem may have caused me to hit it longer than I should have because I didn't catch the "tingle" that signals me it's time to stop. I had 2 or 3 more hits at level 2 and had been sipping/drinking after each hit so by the time I reached the 15 to 20 minute mark I was feeling excellent.

I took a another hit or two at level 3 to top things off when Jennifer Hudson hit the stage. I was feeling exceptionally "happy" by then and I remember tearing up by the time Jennifer finished singing an operatic song. It must have been the combination of vodka and Stardwg because nothing she sang was in English and I'm not a fan of opera. Viva la combo!

When Santana came on stage I took another hit at level 4 and put in a new pot. By the time Santana finished playing (I think it was 5 songs!!) I had taken a couple hits at level 2 on the new pot and a little more than half the vodka/cranberry was gone. The ice was gone too but the drink was still on the coolish side. I was feeling GREAT and totally in the moment. You know that buzz where you're totally immersed. At this point I was exactly where I wanted to be physically, mentally and musically.

About halfway through the concert a truckload of chicken tenders, wings and fries magically appeared and I took that opportunity to take a hit or 2, finish the drink and charge the Bowle. The Bowle still had some power left but I thought this was a good spot to charge it up for the rest of the concert. The food had just come out of the air fryer and it was off the hook!

A moment or 2 later the concert was cancelled due to weather and "It seriously harshed my groove" I mean, what am I gonna do with all that food!? And we're not going to see Springsteen and Paul Simon?!?!?! Fuck!!!!

So I did what any respectable recreational dude would do....wait till the Bowle is charged, top off the buzz, make another vodka/cranberry, find a movie and see how many wings there's room for. Good times!

I posted the following in the Random thoughts thread but I left it for last here to eliminate the spoiler....
I had been looking forward to yesterday's CNN NYC Homecoming Concert all week. Prepped for the 5 hour concert by using my Bowle's metal potter/grinder to fill four pots with some top tier flower and ...... Fully charged and fully filled the large Bowle cup with a triple vodka and cranberry. About 15 minutes in I was feeling pretty toasted when I had this random thought......"Almost nobody is wearing a mask or social distancing and they're packed shoulder to shoulder"!!?!?!

Then I saw a news feed stating that in order to get into the concert you had to have proof of vaccination if you were an adult and if you were under 12 you needed proof of a recent negative PCR test. That's when I had another random thought....."Publicly restricting access to publicized amazing events like this will probably get more people to vaccinate than the fear of dying.... especially since 80% of the concert access was free".

Unfortunately about halfway through they cancelled the remaining concert due to weather and that's when I had another random thought....."I'll have to finish off another pot if I'm going to eat all those leftover chicken tenders, wings and fries". Was quite the sacrifice.

Bowle-by-Bay-w-Altoids-tin.jpg

Cut and glued cardboard to lid of Altoids Smalls tin, for snug fit (rubber band around closed tin for safety)

Edit: @jasp3r - saw your post below -- six pots fit snug side by side so no rattling around. BTW, two pages back I ran a battery test just for you, got six pots with my draw style

Don't like smell of AVB, so use jar with top rather than ashtray
I always need a poker, brush, and q-tip swab
Tool reduction effort:
Sn-B-sharpened-brush.jpg

Pencil sharpener choo'd up this S&B brush. Dull, wood, won't scratch.

Tools don't help me with my stupidity, however. Always thinking, "eh, pot must be cool by now...D'Owwww," and bounce goes the pot as I drop it on the counter

Love your poker tool!
Maybe something to catch the hot pot when you tip it out of the stem? An ashtray? :hmm:

I opted for a Firewood7. At the time, I figured I’d use the Firewood until Tafee makes a v2 that addresses some of the issues that have arisen in this thread. But can’t stop thinking if I should have purchased a Bowle instead.

How much of an issue is the flaking of the coating in the stems? I know machined stems are available, but the jump in price adding one (and a metal Potter) makes the purchase considerably expensive.

@nattomoto - "Flaking" is not a good description of coating loss. People read "flaking" and imagine dry paint chips coming off old wood or metal, most people's frame of reference

Not the same with stem coating issue

Think of it more like sloughing off under fingernail pressure after a hot iso bath. (Not good practice with a powder coated surface) Takes actual physical abrasion/scuff/surface coating breach to even allow beginning of sloughing off in iso

In everyday use, nothing flakes off stem. When I removed remainder of coating on my stem base, it was extremely difficult, brass brushing took quite some time. Was an idiot -- should have bathed it in hot iso again to remove rest with fingernail. In other words, don't worry about coating loss under non-solvent situations, IME

Edit: I do have cosmetic coating loss on fire button of older unit. Jerry Stickstones showed similar wear on his substantially older unit. Finger oils (or in my case sunscreen) probably culprit. But, not a health hazard. No, I don't own firewood, but you could start thread in Ask FC section of forum

@vapviking - the pots' lips are a good grab point to lift from stem. Then it sits on counter until cool for digging/brushing out AVB. My problem is lack of patience, or inebriation, one of the two

I have used both for a couple months now, what would you like to know?
I’m trying to decide on one of the two. I mainly puff on hash, and my main device is an AVS M22. I’m just getting back into flower after a few years off from flower. I use cartridges for portability, so that’s not an issue for me. Is one of the two just a better device overall? Is it worth holding out for a TB until they release an updated model, say with machined stems?

In my experience concentrates don't play nicely with the Bowle (in a sandwich at least). The screen clogs quicker than normal and you end up with a lot of resin falling through to the stem underneath the pot. It vapes concentrates or kief just fine, but because of the mess it's only as an occasional treat.

Yeah, I wouldn’t use the TB for hash.

They are really different, since the FW7 has all the conduction with ceramic oven chamber, not to mention the form factor and versatility with the wpa, the price or the handmade aspect, TB is pure convection on demand in this unique form factor, swappable ceramic chambers, only one style of vapor path really for now though... You'll just have to decide which one appeals to you more, but probably cannot go wrong with either as a home-based herbal portable!
