think of it as "Seasoning"
Welp, I have seasoned Flitwick with several bowls already, had to switch to straight CBD because I wanted to keep using my new pipe but already thoroughly medicated  will provide some more thoughts soon but wanted to drop some shots here of this spectacular work, I can't stop staring! And function keeps up with the form👌

@Black_Prrl, what Is MSRP on that new pipe likely to be?

Still debating MSRP...haven't received the estimated costs from our overseas team as yet, but the price is likely to break the century mark. The titanium is pricey, but I think that it's worth it when compared to SS. Also, we're asking for a more labor-intensive, hand-rubbed finishing process using 100% tung oil with zero VOC to seal the wood. Tung oil, when applied properly, is really quite amazing in terms of water and heat resistance. The prototypes we've tested have held up extremely well with no discernible taste impact nor heat discoloration.

I'm talking with our team in Taiwan this morning... still working through some manufacturability issues with the "deck" to get consistency in the final product. We may need to shift from bamboo to walnut, or some other wood. The designs of all other parts are set. We also completed a cool preliminary packaging design last week, though need to do an iteration this week before sending it to them to see if they can manufacture it. We're hearing dire things about worldwide paper supply...

Thanks for the reply. Personally I think I would feel more comfortable with walnut, cherry or some other wood considered safe for pipe building, since the bamboo appears to be laminated. Do we have safety information about the glue holding that laminate together?

Understood and agree! We are aware of the VOC concerns with some bamboo laminates and have been endeavoring to source greener, low VOC or unprocessed/raw wood solutions--which has been one of our challenges. The 100% tung oil has zero VOC and seals the wood to prevent any contamination of the air pathway and seemed quite successful in the testing we've done.

Is there no reasnable price for shipping method?(for example,USPS Priority Flat rate envelope)

New Neo trick I discovered (perhaps someone has mentioned it before though) an o ring can convert an 18mm joint into a perfect match. Here it is with a lamart mini j hook and an o ring that came with my CDXX pipe. I love being able to use basket screens and the performance is excellent with the Neo, super even and tasty. I can't believe how great it works.

I was doing this with some of the best results I have had to date however, I strongly recommend against this. My Neo's glass cracked and after thinking about it; it makes perfect sense that the glass would crack as the 18mm joint gets hot and it expands putting pressure against the walls of the Neo's glass. The tighter down you put the joint into the Neo and the warmer you run it, the more likely it is to cause this problem. I would say avoid it all together.

I appreciate the info, I had thought that the tapered joint might cause unwanted stress against the Neo glass so I put the o ring high enough that the glass doesn't touch. But that's a good call to look out for this. I've noticed some of my joints (especially 19/19) are too wide, but some (like the mini j hook there) are narrow enough that you can insert it with no glass touching. Thanks for the heads up!

As a side note, I'm looking forward to getting the updated firmware whenever that drops.

Hey, all! Apologies for being incommunicado the past two months! My life has been a bit tumultuous--in the middle of prepping, selling, and moving from my house of 15 years, my 84 year-old mother fell and had to undergo emergency spinal surgery. So, I've been up at her house for the past 6 weeks, trying to arrange short and long-term care. Fortunately, the past few days she's made tremendous improvement...

I have lots to update y'all on, but first and foremost I want to re-emphasize the post by @CDXX Pipes regarding the auction in support of the Last Prisoner Project.

One of our primary values at Prrl Labs is "do the right thing." When we heard about the Last Prisoner Project's mission to address the past, and continuing, injustices related to minor cannabis offenses, the fundamental TRUTH of their cause struck us deep in our hearts. There are thousands upon thousands of prisoners who have been unjustly imprisoned for offenses that shouldn't even warrant a parking ticket. Lives have been ruined. We share the LPP's belief that every company profiting in the current cannabis market has a moral imperative to work toward restorative justice, and to help redress the wrongs that have been (and still are) perpetuated by biases in the criminal justice system. This auction is the first of our actions in support of their mission.

We are so thankful that @CDXX Pipes, and other partner companies, share our values and are joining us to support this cause. TJ has created an incredible masterpiece of a pipe that folks will covet for ages. It pairs beautifully with our new Black Neo--the very first of which will be part of the winner's package. You can access the auction site here. Even if you aren't the winning bid, you can pre-order a black Neo on our website, and 10% of all proceeds will go toward the Last Prisoner Project. And, if you are so moved, please consider a direct donation to their efforts.

More soon...ish.

-Mark

How’s the battery life on this? I’m coming from a terp torch and dyvnavap, how’s it compare to those Vapes as far as flavor?
My vas is acting up and I’ve been having my eye on this but just concerned about the long draw and battery life

I get a few medium size bowls or a couple fatties per battery, but I usually replace around 20/30%. Grab a couple spare and an external charger and no downtime. I typically do take longer draws with it, with the right piece (plenty of great recs here) extraction is no problem. Pure unadulterated flavor 👌
