Tafée Bowle

I've definitely found that the Bowle works best with less than a full pack. I just scoop a bit in from my grinder and give a light tamp - generally ends up about half full, maybe 3/4 full at the most. I haven't come close to combustion, even on level 4. I usually just stay at level 3 though. If I go to 4, it's only for the last hit. If I start on 3 and take a nice long pull, the bowl is essentially cashed in one big hit, with a couple of cleanup hits afterwards. I get very even AVB this way, even if I don't stir.

This is the vape I turn to when I want to get medicated quickly, and with very little material. It's just so easy and convenient. I really only use this vape and the VapBong these days. Everything else collects dust!

I'm worse, only using Bowle now. Greedy with filling pots as well. So quick and easy. Two 25 sec draws on level three, it clears hit for a couple seconds after timeout. Last short draw on level four gives that roasty toasty cashed flavor. Attach cord to the timer switched charger after that. Must be patient and let pot cool before empty, brush, q-tip -- Hot! Keep dropping them, ouch. Even little kids learn not to keep touching hot things

Bleh, probably just black and scorch on the top? Did you pack full and tight, draw a little slow on that hit?? Pure convection risks...

ISO is fine for the mouthpiece and the stem and the pots, you may want to do several rinses, to get the smell out of the silicone... Water and soap as well, last resort try putting it in some milk or something similar.
OMG! Was there ash or just dark char?

The Care and Maintenance guide says the ceramic pots can be deep cleaned using ISO. For additional details like whether the pot gasket can also be ISO soaked (It isn't recommended) ..... https://tafee.com/assets/downloads/Tafee - Care and Maintenance Guide.pdf

The full set of manuals and guides can be found here: https://tafee.com/support.html

Yep, its my fault, packed too much, there was a dark spot, I believe that a simple stir would have fixed that, but I have to be more careful.

I'll try to get 70% ISO since I only have 99%, I got rid of the smell when inhaling, there some smell in the device but its not really combustion fortunately.

Yeah so that smell will fade, just let it sit out in the air a few days, I use 99% btw, no prob

What’s the word on 400 ML restock at the end of March? I really want a Bowle but POTV only has the 250 ML at the moment. Tempted to just go for it because of this whole vape ban snafu.

Given how hard they worked to make this product appeal to people who do not vape, pretty sure they do not classify it as such when shipping via FedEx... I wouldn't worry about that, personally, for this company.

Yup. I don't know if this was intentional, but the cup looks way less dumb in this new, painfully stupid, shipping climate.

My heater cuts out while I’m still taking a draw. Any reasons why?
There is a draw timer on it as well as an air/breath sensor. So if you are not inhaling it shuts off (at least with the click-on method ... with the press-and-hold I'm not sure if the draw sensor comes into play ... I'll play with it this morning and will let you know)

Edit: Breath sensor is active when using the press-and-hold method as well. If the heater is shutting off, before the timeout, while you are inhaling, then maybe it's not making a good seal with the heater gasket? If airflow between the heater and bowl were impeded, that could cause this I would expect ... does it produce lots of vapour?

Mine does at times also, I'm working with POTV on it, but we've not come to any conclusions yet. I'll keep you posted.

I'm not completely sure it's active while using the press and hold method, but it's hard to tell because when mine cuts out it can do so while I'm honking on it.

It could just need a tweak to the algorithm if that were the problem. It could also be that they started producing in larger batches and we're finding some inconsistencies now with quantities in the field?

I'm sure it will get worked out, it fits too nicely next to MV's not to!

also happened to me but very few times... I thought it has to do with my button... but I am not sure... to me it happened when hold and press...

BTW I would like to see smaller pots for microdosing or an insert to old pots... I know maybe such microdosing and the short battery life is contraproductiv but now I am mainly using my tafee at home... I do not like to load 0.07 to 0.1g and after the first two hits all the taste is gone and the other draws taste not really good.. I would like to load less and take only one or two hits and be finished so I have good taste...

and a stem which makes drawing more comfortable ( if you are not using cup especially)... something like pipe... thought maype will buy another stem and bend it a little bit... so it looks like a tobacco pipe so to say ;)

My steel Potter kept having one magnet come off. One time, I put it back the opposite direction. Now, it won't close up lol. Well, it's no biggie since I haven't really used it much. The novelty factor has worn off I guess. My friend seems to be satisfied with it, as in no complaints so far. I do believe this is more suited for beginners and does a great job with it. I still find myself reaching for other heavies more than the Bowle. Its a life saver though when my wife is in the same room and i don't wanna piss her off lol. For some reason, she doesn't smell the Bowle the same way she smells my other heavies. Good enough reason for me to own one. YMMV.
hahaha exact same thing happened to me.

What do you mean by "dry heater"?

How often, while you're drawing, does it change from green (heater on) to not green? I have only used the press, release and draw at green approach and it works perfectly with the exception of a once every couple of pots it will change from green to not green before I stop drawing.

If your Bowle is doing the change from green while drawing consistently.....you should contact support.

Why not just load less and tamp it down?

Or you could potentially use the DDave 14mm basket screens which will fit in the pot. I have some capped ones sitting around (which you could use to tamp down weed below), and confirmed that with their lip there wouldn't be too much air going around the outside of the screen.

Tried the 18mm baskets too, but they not only may hold more than you want for microdosing, but also have a lip wider than the pot, and interfere with the ability to slide the bowl and stem into place (I did not try to force it, but it got tighter than I was comfortable with and I don't want to risk any issues related to the heater screen above the pot. Someone braver than me can try this with the o-ring on the pot removed, since the lip of the 18mm basket seems about the same thickness as that seal. And of course this presumes that losing the seal there doesn't impede performance. All at your own risk).

You should contact them for warranty? I didn't bother since I don't really use mine anymore.
it just so happened it happened on my first use and my first puck was faulty. They sent me a new one along with a new puck when they were still doing the promotion, excellent service. I agree though, it's lost it's use for me so I just use it to hold 4 loaded pods for a sesh

Yeah my sensor can cut out, using either style, sometimes I think it's because of how I drew on it at that time, but sometimes it does seem random... Not a big deal though!

I assume you rinse for just a little while?

For the mouthpiece? Let it soak a little, then rinse without water and soap if you want, let air dry a while... For the stem, I shake it with the iso for a while, rinse it out and iso shake again, maybe use q-tip to scrub the bottom plate. For the pots, I remove the o-ring, and let them iso soak a bit before hot water rinse (dipping in iso again in between) and one of them the screen is getting pretty worn and pops out easily, but the other one I keep the screen in... Honestly it is a pretty quick and very easy process, although I still procrastinate doing it!
