Discontinued Terp Torch

I just bought the ruby balls, the new bowl and the new stirring tool. I also got the titanium balls from DDave so I can see for myself which one I prefer. I'm curious to see how much the experience will change with those new upgrades. The Terp Torch is already a good vape but with a couple of little problems, so hopefully this will help to improve the performance and the ease of use for the TT.

Would you elaborate on what the "little problems" are. I am seriously considering a purchase and I am looking of additional information. I and my wallet thank you.

By little problems I mean stuff like the vape sticking to the bowl, or uneven heating of the herb and hot spot. The new bowl should help with the sticking since the connection is not ground glass anymore so the vape should be able to move freely and rotate without getting stuck to the glass. As for the balls, I hope they will help by heating the herb more evenly and faster.

I already wrote a couple of posts at the beginning of the thread about my impression of the Terp Torch so I'm not gonna repeat myself. But to summarize, it's a good heavy hitting vape for the price, potent vapor, the heating isn't even but you can just rotate the vape in the bowl to get everything heated the same. If you want more detail you should read my other posts and I'm gonna write my impressions of the new stuff when my order will arrive.

I thank you, that was informative.

Ti balls def. help even out the heating and also you will run it at a lower temp since they transfer heat so well.
That's what I've heard and what made me buy them. Very curious about trying them vs the rubies. This vape was already a beast before but if I can achieve the same results, but with lower heat, my lungs are gonna be so happy.

Edit : went ahead and got the Ti ; will try both; anyone who has both what do prefer and why please?

Rudy red Monday! I’ll start with them ;Ti in a day or two ! Anyone know how fast DDaves ships ?
Dave only ships on Thursdays.

My Terp Torch was just delivered. I started with the titanium balls and I started on level 5. Holy shit!!! I might have to pump the batteries out of the smoke detector because the vapor is that thick. Going to play around with the temps. Have a bunch of new material coming through can’t wait to start the lab work.

It's gonna be a ruby red Monday for me too, my package is out for delivery!

Since my package was small enough, they shipped it DHL instead of USPS for the same price. I was expecting to get my order in a week or two since I'm in Canada, so it was a nice surprise.

At least this way I'll have plenty of time to play with the rubies before the Ti balls from DDave gets to me.

you want the wizard or the skull?
so if the only thing i have to vape with is some dynavaps and dynavap accessories, is this thing a good get for my only desktop or should i be looking elsewhere first? the idea has me very intrigued. besides the DV i've only ever used a volcano a couple times. i am sadly limited in my vaporizing experience when it comes to devices.

Ok just a little time tonight with it but I can see once you get everything dialed in it
Can be a fun time! More testing tomorrow.

Side note: Fat fingered people shouldn’t be messing with small pieces. I know I lost 1 ruby, and man those things roll fast! Lol

Ruby red Monday was canceled, DHL still have my package dammit!

Looks like I'm gonna have to wait for Terp Torch Tuesday to try the rubies.

Week 2 with Ti balls installed reporting in!

Fantastic! Still down to temp 4 or 5 from 8. I decided to test the Ti balls at vaping rosin chips. I have about a pound of rosin chips that I know have some tiny amount thc left in them. Slapped a handful in the electric grinder, and started vaping, very weird to see the weed uncompact in the TT bowl, when I draw the weed decompresses and rises, very neat. OH and it pulls that last tiny bit of THC outta the chips!

Baked from rosin chips, gotta love it! Ti balls are funsies.

I ordered one a couple of hours ago the site was already working. In my case I have too many vapes but I need a soldering iron so it's a win in my book.
You literally just rationalized my future purchase. My relative’s electric washing machine stopped working recently and they were able to use a soldering iron to repair a shorted circuit and now it works like a charm.

I just got my own place and am currently looking to buy a washing machine so I will very likely need a soldering iron to repair it at some point. I also will need another desktop vape at some point so I can kill two birds and get stoned

I have been trying to figure out what desktop would best compliment my Plenty and MFLB. I still kind of wanted an E-nano (I got the plenty because it doesn’t have any glass and I could pass it around with friends) but the MFLB fills the place of a convenient and quick microdosing vape which is the biggest benefit of a logvape for me. I figure the Terp torch would extract at a similar speed to the E-nano so they will probably have comparable signatures. Even with titanium and stand upgrades it would still be cheaper than a log vape.

I understand that the herbalizer is probably better than the Terp torch but I’m not ready for an END GAME VAPE yet! I would rather invest the money in two or three vapes (or accessories) that all have different signatures so I can see what style I like best before spending herbalizer or Evo amounts of money. The Terp torch seems to me like a cheaper made but still very effective herbalizer. Like a British sten gun made of machined metal vs a tommy gun with its elegant wood stock and higher level of precision. Plus at that price it is a great value and a good entry into that style of vape. I’ve done a lot of research but I could be wrong!

I already wanted a medium sized WP with a saxophone neck so that will work neatly with the Terp Torch when I do fill out my collection.

I’m actually hoping y’all could help me pick out some glass. last night I posted the “hydratube thread to end all threads”but now that I’ve decided to get a Terp torch I may not buy a HT at all. Are HTs viable with the Terp torch? I think if I constructed some kind of a stand it would work exactly like a log vape. I’m even more mixed up than I was yesterday :bang:

Warning: There wasn’t a single word to describe me until the term “Extra” came into being. Luckily I’m extra caring and through, but I’m also extra neurotic- hence the vaping hobby. I tried to be almost scientific in writing the thread and included a procedure for answering and commenting. I fear it is way too much work to read let alone contribute to:

https://fuckcombustion.com/threads/hydratube-thread-to-end-all-threads

If the thread I made is too much please don’t feel like you need to respond there or at all. Please feel free to tell me about your favorite set up for the Terp Torch and if you have any thoughts on whether or not a hydratube would be good to use with the Terp torch or if it would require too much work. As I stated earlier I only have two vapes currently so if you have input on what my next vapes should be please let me know!

I wouldn't make that assumption at all. I've had a number of Top-shelf desktop vapes over the years, but I wouldn't say that any of them are more or less "End-game" than the Terp Torch. This thing is an absolute beast that can give pure terpy wispy hits at lower temps (manually set below the defaults) or absolutely insane hits a higher temps. I don't think I've had a vape in my collection can that can rip through herb like this thing can; it produces combustion-level clouds w/o the combustion.

I am admittedly still in the honeymoon phase and plan to compare the lower temp hits against my Weedeater and Herborizer at some point soon to see how it holds up in a direct comparison, but I'm blown away by this thing.

Now to find a decent looking soldering iron stand that'll hold it securely...

@Scuba Steve Tokes the big difference between the Terp Torch and the Herborizer or other 'end game" vaporizers is refinement.

With the Herbo for exemple it's gonna be easier to use since it's smaller, the heating of the herb will be more constant, better taste of the vapor, the design of the vape looks a lot better.
The one place where the Terp Torch will match the Herbo is on the potency of the vapor, it will kick your ass just like the vapor from the Herbo would.
The TT will require to keep a close eye on the herb to avoid combustion and will need more work to ensure an even roasting of the herb by rotating the vape but the end results is still gonna be monster clouds.
In the end, the power of the Terp Torch and the low price makes it a really good purchase for someone looking to get an introduction on desktop vapes. In your case you already have a Plenty for a desktop but the TT will need a lot less herb to give you the same results.

If you plan on getting a couple of different vapes I don't think you'll regret buying the TT, there's not a lot of vapes at that price range that can make me tap out as quick as this one does. And when you finally get an "end game vape" you'll really appreciate the upgrade of the experience and the vapor quality with the new vape.
Also you can still keep the TT as a back up or if you need a small desktop for travel.

As for using the Terp Torch with hydratubes, I'm not sure it's worth it, it's gonna be a lot more simpler to use a regular water pipe. I'm sure it's possible to make it work with adapters but the TT is already tall as it is, now add on top of it the bowl and the hydratube, you are gonna end up with something that won't be practical at all.

When you'll get your water pipe just make sure that the glass connection looks solid since the TT is tall and you'll need to rotate it in the bowl, this could put some stress on the glass and break something.

I am truly in love with the  🔥 🔥TerpTorch. I was a little concerned at first because it’s a modified soldering iron. I wasn’t sure if it would be able to match up to some of the other Super Duper Heavy Hitters. After reading all the directions modifying the temp an the sleep modes I can assure you that this thing is rocksolid and safe to use for extended periods of time. I’m curious to see about its longevity.
This vaporizer is in the extreme heavy heat hitting category. Every other Vape that’s in this category is $200-$500 more. With those you generally need a coil and a controller which adds to the bulk and footprint. I love that the footprint is so small and I’m able to get all that power. Just like some of the heavy hitters I’ve had in the past I don’t suggest you wake & bake with this thing and keep it going all day long. It’s a little too heavy for all day if you have a busy schedule. The stand is awesome the Vape doesn’t get uncomfortably hot after extended periods.
The one thing I am in search for is a better bowl. I don’t like that the screen doesn’t lock in place. I’m currently looking for a non-glass option, or a option that’s glass that doesn’t cost $30-$40 per bowl.
This thing is an absolute steal! 🔥🔥🔥
