The hypetrain has crushed hard with this one. That's why i always take impressions from honey moon phases with a grain of salt, even if they are my own. Now that we have a bit more user reviews and the air has cleared i dont see the claims of greats CS,build quality that surpasses the price tag, advanced design etc to live up. Replacing your cracked chamber with the same one that is going to crack again eventually is not a good move,i suggest anyone on the fence to save himself the Ultem particles and wait to see if the updated parts will fix the issues at hand.
definitely a good call. My oven is fine, But i think I will just put it away for a bit until the new ovens drop. I am still hopeful they will get this fixed, I do love the fit, finish and function.

The ovens is one thing, but they also need to address some people units (mine) entering into nonstop heating mode, burning everything to a pulp.

when I did contact them, they wanted me to send it back so they could repair, except that duty and taxes were to be paid by me upon sending. Which means $100usd (I’m Canadian) on top of everything else I paid to get it to me.

I told them I want a full refund, and I’ll be sending the unit back once I get that money. And it certainly won’t be with their stupid return label through fedex

At least they will communicate with you. I had an open line of communication until I complained, now I'm ghosted. I'm in the same boat with my unit. It heats until combustion and is currently completely unusable to me. I purchased before the discount code was posted. I paid $190USD + $40CAD import. That's $283 CAD I'm personally out of pocket within a week of purchase and I'm left with a company that seems completely unable or unwilling to try and help me out.. Not sure what to do as I've been fortunate enough never experienced these issues before.

I'll give it a few week's time while I drift off with some tasty Bowlés. How long does one have to request a PP or CC chargeback?

Well that's certainly not good CS :myday:

Sorry to hear your having a rubbish experience with them and their vape. How long since any contact?

They are actually a US company that is based out of California, but like most companies these days, the parts are manufactured in China.

It might be worth holding off until known issues are resolved, unless you want to be part of the solution
I haven't had any issues communicating with their CS, though I've only talked to their Instagram rep, and she's always been super helpful. I've mentioned before that it might be best to hold off until things get worked out. Don't forget that this is a new device, and while the company has been around for a good while now, this is their first dry herb vape, so they are bound to have some kinks to work out. Knowing their success in the ecig market, lets give them time

According to one of the founders on the Instagram........ now Chinese.

Is this the same company?

Yeah, I didn't see anything about being owned by anyone overseas, just that the ownership is now in the hands of old men who don't know the industry. Either way, that is disappointing to read. Eventually, they will get everything worked out. It's in their best interest as a company to not fail. I'm sure they have not only invested their own money but money from other investors as well, so while that is disappointing to hear and it does make me like them less as a company, I still think its a good quality product that is just experiencing some "out of the gate" issues. Only time will tell though

I saw that post earlier this morning, also, but I didn't see where the founder claims the company is now Chinese (unless I missed something), just that manufacturing is.
Same here, I saw mention of two consultants, but not nationality.
Honestly, I could care less (kind of) where its made - I just want a good product (which Im not sure, but still hopeful I have here)

*Edit* - i type slow and get distracted - my post is old news lol

in the ecig market? As far as I know from ecig enthusiasts, dotmod is a massive joke in the community. Wish I woulda known that first.

Since a real person communicated with me, 6 days ago. So I still have to be patient before sharpening the fork and burning spears. I've tried all channels of communication with them so now I will just wait. I think we have up to 6months to do CC chargebacks if a business will not honor a warranty. I have some really great vapes to distract me right now and since it's winter here I have no pressing need for an ultra-portable as I can fit just about anything in the inside pocket of a winter jacket lol

I mean, I love my DotAIO, and everyone I know who has one, loves it, so... 🤷‍♀️
I think it's subjective. Every company has lovers and haters. Just look at Arizer, Storz&Bickel, Davincci, MFLB, etc. Personally, I say decide for yourself if you like a company and its products, and let everyone else do what they may. just my :2c:

Sure is looking that way, unfortunately mine arrives today and I can't find anything on their site about a return policy.

@jbm I'm eager to see which gen you get, and how you like it. Honestly, just use it and I bet you'll forget all the idle chatter here.

Coming up on a month with mine, and it still knocks my socks off every time. How long is the "honeymoon phase" where my opinion doesn't matter supposed to last lol. When dotmod nails the oven defects this will be the best vape you can get for the money. I'm still overjoyed at the build quality and features, as well as design elements.

If the dotaio was out back when I still used ecigs, I'd have had one for sure. That's part of why I am so into this little guy. It's a slick vapor brick for the plants I like not the plants I worked hard to quit!

I get your point for sure, but I’m not confident those with non-working units would agree with the “idle” adjective

Oh no, it really saddens and frustrates me that the people here have completely unusable devices and trouble getting sorted by the company. I want everyone to enjoy the dotleaf party right now. Double sucks because I'm over here loving my dot life and they have to watch unsatisfied.

Yeh I'm 8ish sessions in and have a similar feeling. I handle the device with the care I would put into handling the world's most costly/deadly yet fragile object. And I read this thread with a lot of concern for the people who had/have a bad experience, it really sucks. Pretty hopeful they'll get their issues sorted though, given that the ovens themselves retail for pretty cheap I don't it's likely this would kill the product for dot (and whatever evil empire they serve ha). But jesus, this thing works so well when it works, which it luckily does for me (so far). Definitely not gonna push it too much with it the next few weeks but kinda want to wait to see when the oven issue is sorted. Crikey though, this machine is an absolute monster (especially given its size and format). And so tasty. And potent. Such mixed feelings all in all ha. Is this what tinymight owners feel like?

Also, temp level 3 is where it's at.

@kineticsam posted the warranty policy link earlier in the thread. You should be able to find it a few pages back
Thank you, though I was referring to the dotLeaf site. I guess this still applies, since they're the parent company:
"All sales are final. We do not offer refunds, returns or exchanges."

I was actually talking about the DotLeaf site specifically, and not DotMod.

A simple google search "Dotleaf Warranty" provided these results...

In the case of just buyers remorse (not happy with the product) yes, all sales are final. This is for sanitary purposes and quite frankly is not all that uncommon. If the screw up is on their end (manufacturing defect) then the device is supported for 90 days. Granted, its not great compared to DotMods "Limited Lifetime Warranty", but its something I suppose. Either way, it's a pretty standard warranty policy in the industry. Is it as good as some other more seasoned herb vape manufacturers, no...but once again, they are just starting out. A 90 day warranty that is honored by the company always beats a lifetime warranty with a company that no longer exists (Haze). Its all about perspective, and overall, DotLeaf has been taking care of it's customers, so lets give them time

Yeah, I’m loving my dotleaf after spending the weekend with it, but the fact that the “90 day limited warranty” link on their own pages menu links to a 403 - Forbidden page on Oncloudvapor.com is really not great, and makes me even more nervous about the fact that they’re out of stock on the ovens with no restock date listed.

You can't fault a broken link. That's a matter of oversight on the web developers part, and not the company as a whole.
In regards to the out of stock ovens, there's a reason for that. It was mentioned a few pages back that they are changing the Ultem material. That will require new pictures, new data, etc, therefore rendering that oven link outdated and out of stock. Rather than selling units they know are faulty, they did the right thing by pulling it off the shelves (web link) and will update it when the new ones come out. Come on guys, is everyone looking for a reason to be negative? They are doing what we wanted them to do. They are fixing the problem. That doesn't happen overnight.

I just wish there was a bit more transparency. I seriously wish them the best (I want my vape to continue working well!), but the fact that they’ve pulled the ovens while continuing to sell vapes with those very ovens makes me nervous. If they’d just make a definitive public statement about the state of their products I’d be a lot less concerned about little stuff like a website and owner manual that’s riddled with typos and bad links, but for now it’s all just seeming sloppy, and I’d prefer companies I do business with not be sloppy if at all possible.
