@Ratatat
Nice vapes!

Mine are the opposite in heat level , but I prefer my 2 I think. They're both fantastic and compliment each other but the 2 just has a special feel to it coming from Ryan.

thanks and I agree it’s great to have both they are different - the Mi2 has a more luxurious feel to it for sure.

the Milaana hit is for me the best I’ve had from any vape for taste and after some practice I can now reliably get what I want from each draw

Phenomenal taste short of pure glass.

I LOVE YOUR MILAANA!! Sorry for yelling but god damn that's an absolutely beautiful device. @RastaBuddhaTao killed it with this one. I hope he does some spalted woods again someday.

Was wondering if you guys who have a P80 could give me a basic comparison to a Milaana - someone in the P80 thread mentioned it was more like the Zion for power.

I was really interested in getting a P80 until getting into RBT vapes - now I wonder if I should bother. Other than the form factor and interface is there any meaningful difference in taste or quality of the vapor?

You talking about the TP80? Or the mod (on its own or with a splinter)? This is not really the place to ask for a comparison of two different vapes, better to post in ask FC to keep this thread focused on Milaana...

I will tell you they are completely different vapes though equally effective and both using glass stem chamber vapor path system... Zion/splinterZ has a larger more complex heater than Milaana/Splinter, so that is why they said it would be more comparable to a tetra heater, but they are still extremely different regardless...

We're not supposed to have direct comparison talk like that in the vape-specific threads. You can start a thread in Ask FC if you want to talk head to head features/performance etc. One other advantage is folks who don't frequent just the RBT or Lamart threads might see an Ask FC post and chime in with a different perspective.

Also forgot to mention, there may already be a thread in askFC comparing those vapes (and others) so always good to look there.

If the photo is accurate those are the 19/19's which I thought only work with the Mi3 and Splinters. But the website says that they work with all Milaanas...

Yeah planet vape's had stock for a while, they have splinters too, they were an official retailer, and are vape veterans in this industry! Got my ZV1 from them recently.

You're incorrect, 19/19 are needed for regular splinters and Mi3, but they will fit all RBT Vapes, which are 19/22 (22 will not fit in a 19, but 19 will fit in a 22, you understand?)

EDIT - Mods please delete this post. I didn't realize they still have the smoked stems in stock when I posted this and now I have egg on my face.

This stems do work in both my 2 and 3 I got my packs in today by mail very nice and they come in that cool RBT box

I started checking the 2 and 3 side by side with same stems and herb. The 3 is definitely hotter, I think the even bake of the 2 made me think it was the hotter unit. The 2 has great heat but it seems to be more evenly applied. The button on the 2 also has more action in it

Has anyone ever tried loading the joint similar to the way the TP80 works? Put a 15mm SS screen in the bottom of the joint, load it, then cap it with a rimmed basket screen? This would definitely require holding the button longer and taking longer draws but I'm curious if it would be doable.

It is doable, but I would not advise it just like I would not in the Tetra, I find it to be quite inefficient with for some reason worse vapor quality in my experience... but some like it!

I don't have a TP80 quite yet (made it in the last drop though so waiting for that shipping email!) so I haven't been able to try this yet but I have heard that it takes more work to get good clouds this way.
I watched VapeCritic's comparison of the TinyMight and TP80 and he was packing the joint and still getting really thick hits on the second hit. He was taking really long draws though at a pretty high heat (I think 200C was where he started?). This is probably how I'll end up using it but one of the great things is that you can experiment!

Exactly you have to turn up the heat and you have to take long draws, and you have to load a lot more weed... Also going to take a lot more battery life. It is far more efficient to load a little bit in the basket screen, no heat is stolen by extra metal, and you will get better flavor and don't have to use much battery or such high temperatures, you'll get more true temperature control... So similar for Milaana it is far easier to control and get better extraction loading in basket screens, without stirring as well, all around basket screen loading is the way to go with these glass stem-based vapes in my experience.

I generally agree with you in that the basket screen is most efficient as far as ease of use and getting easy hits. I've been using my Milaana that way for a couple years now.

Now I find that I have to pack two or three basket screens back to back to get to where I want to be. I also tend to vape with other people and vaping only .1-.15 at a time is a little tedious since I have to repack it every time the rotation goes around, lol.
