Tetra P80

Do you guys keep that screen in place? I have to help catch particulates, but it is annoying to clean, remove and to reposition

@FlyingLow i keep in place for same reason. I rarely take it out though. After you iso it grab a pair of tongs and blast with HOT water under the faucet. This really eliminates all the reclaim. I usually clean once a week at most sometimes two.

Never mind, it went green again earlier but of course the screen is still unresponsive.

I'm just going to use my Tubo that is great apart from having a loose/wobbly joint or whatever it's called and sometimes seeming sensitive to device too hot messages. I haven't used it much since getting the Tetra so I don't really remember how I mostly reduced them. Changing batteries helps a bit but not often, and I know my inhale also plays into it.

I just got a used p80, is the screen covering the heater replaceable? Tia
The first used Tubo I bought arrived with a ratty screen and crumbs around the heater. I replaced it with a 25mm screen (left over from my EQ w/ DDave mod) and it fit perfectly.

It’s a lot easier getting the oven screen out than putting a new one in however, so if you’re not patient/dexterous, I’d recommend just swabbing the existing screen clean.

Set your device on a high heat and blow through from the bottom to burn-off any residue afterwards.

I think it's a 2/3 or 7/8 inch sized steel mesh screen, I'm sure you can find the exact measurement somewhere, or poke out the one that's in there and then measure that? It of course can be used without a heater screen, especially if you are careful and keep it upside down above bowls at all times...

ooh once my male male adapter is in, maybe if I feel like I want to live dangerously, ill try no screen

Yeah I always use my tetra upside down basically, with the bent stems, so my heater screen is pretty spotless fortunately... Anyway the size has to be listed somewhere in the original thread I would think??

somebody said 25mm screen but edited or so, can't find it. seems logical to me. it's more than 20mm for sure.....
20.8? This is from my elev8r spares kit.

The heater is just housed in a 19f to 19f joint adapter correct?

Hi guys in aproximately 2 weeks i'll have my unit and was wondering how accurate is the temperature, probably talked about this but i couldn't find it.

How does this unit and heater exactly work? Does the number on the display refer to the metal inside the glass? Or just an overall temperature of the whole heater?

I guess it's the first one, and also I expect that every unit has its variations since its handmade, also the type of stem and packing probably have an impact, so what is your temperature for a full extraction on the BASKET SCREEN where the herb gets to (415ºF / 200-215°C)? and for a more light hit like a (170-180ºc / 350ºF) what temperature do you put on the display?

If you are filling the basket screen at the edge of the stem, with a nice strong steady draw, you'll likely find the temps to be quite accurate give or take... each unit is calibrated to be fairly precise for the overall heater temp not just the coils though it is based off of their resistance... so it's going to depend on your usage how accurate you find the temps, you're just going to have to test it out for yourself once it arrives!

I see, thank you ShitSnaks, I guess that is how that works for convection vapes, this is going to be my first convection one so I'm excited to test this out. I hope I can share this with friends giving them a little advice.

Have a good night!
5 clicks on fire (turning ON the P80)
set temp to 180c (plus and minus buttons)
triple click on fire will put the device into *warmup mode* - the glass is getting heat soaked for 10 seconds or so......
..then into *cruise mode* automatically - by default - you are good to go on 180c - inhale....slow and steady... that's low temp... you need to inhale slow....

don't want to use warmup mode? just double click will get you into the cruise mode!
(one steady click is on-demand mode)

get it to 190-195 later, then 215.. and keep going to 230C max, imho. depends if it is on a bubbler or not..

the units are calibrated so that once the heater is warm (warmupmode or cruise for a while) the displayed temperature is accurate 5mm above the internal screen. if you pack the basket screen the temperature is hotter than whats displayed.

the heater likes a lot of air moving past it quickly. fast inhale recommended.
