Tetra P80

Seriously, how did that stem stay in? I feel like I missed a (glaringly obvious) memo.

So I just got ahold of my unit and I think I may have screwed up. I don't know the first thing about 18650 batteries but I heard the Molicell P26A was popular (with Mooch) so I ordered some. But the wattage on my P80 is all over the place, jumping from apx 4-18w I wanna say and the temperature is fluctuating as well. Does this sound like just a poor battery choice causing my issues?

The Molicel 26A is arguably the best 18650 on the market (for our use), the only downside being a slightly lower capacity. No one should use a lower discharge rated cell than the HG2/30Q/VTC6 but there are others with higher verified discharge ratings like the 26A, VTC5A, VTC5D, 25R, and 20S that would all work.

My paranormal jumps around in wattage when I use it in TCR because the mod allows the full (programmed) wattage to be applied when heating up and then when the temperature (determined by the measured resistance) is reached it drops until I draw which raises it to compensate. It's a different mod but the principal should be the same as far as I'm aware.

I guess I haven't seen many Tetra screens while they're actually running, it just seems abnormal to me. This is how it looks in cruise mode and it never really settles, it's always jumping around. Performance seems great, I'm getting huge tasty rips it's just a little distracting and worrying to see the data on the screen constantly fluctuating.
yeah it's around 2% error, it's fine. PID is not 100% accurate, but better than PI or P for sure..it's still a very accurate controller.
other devices just won't show you the error measurement, it's fine.

I sent an email asking to get on the waitlist and have yet hear a response.
How do these drops work? Scheduled, first come first serve? The units you’re all sharing are beautiful!

It’s first come first serve, there’s no waitlist. There’s a mailing list you can get on to let you know when the drops will be. There’s was a drop ~a week ago so the next one will probably be in early November.

Just to add to what @nothing said, they go fast so be ready when it does happen. If you go for a custom the wait time will be longer but your chance of getting one is higher.

Yeah don’t underestimate it, these drops are basically an Olympic sport. Next drop will be attempt number three on getting one of these (to be fair I would have gotten one last drop but I kept getting declined and didn’t realize until all the units had sold that I grabbed the wrong card )

Yeah they're pretty crazy, the drop I got in on seemed to be slower for custom units, they lasted for a few hours that day. Every other drop seems to have only lasted minutes. There seems to be a few card that have problems, I guess because it's a foreign account? Good luck to you (and anyone else on FC) on the next one, hopefully it's sooner rather then later.

Yeah sorry I am late, but that is 1000% normal, the wattage and temperature is constantly fluctuating to stay at temp, and if you have eco-enabled then when you are not drawing on it like that, it will use less power and lower the resting temp until you inhale again... You are just viewing live temperature and live wattage readings while it is active, nothing to worry about at all!

Thanks, and thanks to everyone else for the replies. I guess I'm just not used to getting this much information from my vape. That makes me feel better, the vape works great and that's part of why I was so paranoid that something was wrong.

As I've cured my immediate VAS with a Simrell Vortex, I am now finding the patience to go for a Tetra P80. After reading about the P80 and the TM I was initially drawn towards the latter, but I'm put off by the relatively elaborate setup (basically I don't like cleaning and handling sticky o-rings).

I was hoping one of you could confirm the following. As far as I can tell the P80 cleaning situation is more similar to my Splinter Z or the Arizer portables, where the heat chamber is maintained by an occasional brush sweep, and the stems can simply be dropped in some iso. No fiddling with o-rings. Am I missing something or is this really all there's to it?

Yeah, technically the TM is the same, without the cooling unit of course... Yes all of them are glass stem-based vapes

I have both devices the tm and tp80 and the cleaning for both is very easy ! But it’s quite easier on the tp80 If you have to decide:

tm: quick strong on demand extraction the size is perfect

tp80: because of the joint load for my usage its like a session beast ( with flower x concentrate x hash) haha. Had very nice and long sessions and it’s my fave portable vape

That sounds great im waiting for mine and was wondering if it was good for sessions with a friend, do you do that on demand or on cruise mode?
Do you know how much weed you can put on the joint and how much shots do you get aprox.?

I do sessions with a friend, just packing the basket at the end of the joint, you can do back to back bowls or each have your own stem actually. I have used it both ways, but I mostly use cruise with my tetra upside down, removing it to clear each hit, with the stem also upside down, like a j-hook.

Thats actually a good idea having two stems charged didnt thought about that, I dont really get what you say by clear each hit, I suppose I'll get it when I got it on my hands. I'll have the Nub, a 18mm male mini j-hook (do you know if thats gonna fit natively?) and a Capsule stem, cant wait to experiment with them.

So when you're using a vape on demand, like the splinter, you hold down the power button and start inhaling, then when you let go of the power button you keep inhaling to clear the hit so there's no residual vapor left in the glass stem or rising from the bowl... So then when in cruise mode, you're not using the power button to clear the bowl, you have to remove the heater entirely to do so, just like if you were using it on a bong with the WPA... This is why I don't think I could ever use a carbed WPA though I do like the idea in theory, my ocd would be too worried about vapor rising condensing on the heater.

You may find it difficult to do cruise with the nub, also it is some difficult to use upside down like I was saying, but that j hook will be perfect! I have the same mini J-Hook, but with a female connection, from when Lamart was telling them that way. Next time I make an order I hopefully will be getting one of these new male connection ones too!

I have a wooden capsule stem, short and bent inserts with the amaze cooler which I love, but I'm actually not really a fan of the s& b capsules themselves, so I wish it wasn't cut to fit one and that I could use it with the rimmed basket screen instead lol

which cooling mechanism you've got inside your wooden stem? I purchased yesterday a wooden stem, my first one. the whole glass nipples is out of stock now, you've got the glass+metal inside?
edit: got it - you've got the amaze - you ever tried the spiky glass inside a wooden stem?

I'll try this wooden for a dynavap too....

Haha yeah as I said it's the amaze, but I already had the spiky bent cooler and a custom color horned spiked bent long stem (btw those are actually spikes indents or dimples not nipples lol nipples are porous) but yeah they are not inside wood stems...
