Well, I have a crafty out for repair inbound - do you think I need a tiny might also?
If I go that route, I sell my spare MV1's - NIB

Ahh that’s a shame. I hate vapes that involve such cleaning, such as that square pro. That disc is going to be such a pain!
Do they at least provide any tools ?
Has anyone cleaned theirs yet ? Is it easy and like above can you get to the air path fully

would using a mesh filter between the flower and that disk help at all?

Videos don’t show much. They are short. And don’t really show usage for vapor output.
Yeah at least shows a breakdown etc. Been watching them.
I forgot to ask, how much vapor is produced ? On both on demand and session....

Vapor Mainline

Vapor (Ent)husiast
After a day and a half with the Legacy, I'm pretty sure I'm selling the Ghost (although it does look cool sitting on the shelf). I find the flavor out of the Legacy to be almost exactly like the Ghost, except that, no matter what I do, with my Ghost, I start tasting charring at the end of the 2 or 3 hit. Okla, I know you've modded your heatsink a bit and the Ghost works well for you, but, at least with my specific Ghost, I never got it figured out.

With the Legacy, I get to about hit 6 or 7 hits before I taste char, and if I do taste char, I open it up and see that the there is no "green" left, the bowl is spent.

As far as even roasting goes. I think the Legacy is way better than the Ghost. I have not put it above 350. I've been leaving it at 325-350 and I love the way it rips through a bowl.

My first sesh with the Legacy, I set it on 350 in session mode. I ground up about .15g of Sherbert. Sherbert is one of my favorite tasting strains and this batch I have is my current favorite "daytime" strain. Only 14%. I usually pack about the same in my Splinter, set the wattage fairly low, and just kind of sip away and enjoy the flavor. It's my version of a coffee break. I usually do that if I'm cooking, doing housework, or some tedious computer task that doesn't require a lot of deep thought. However, with the Legacy, I had 3 hits at 350º, stirred the bowl, then had 4 more. Started to taste char on 7 so I stopped and looked at the ABV. It was evenly dark dark brown, with just a little charring at the bottom. The bowl was 100% spent in my book. About 5 minutes later, the Sherbert really hit me and I had to lay down for a while. I had never gotten that effect from a bowl of Sherbert.

I've often wished I could stir the Ghost, but it's just not possible with the capsule design. That Legacy does a pretty decent job with no stir. I won't have any "green" left at the end of the bowl, but it will be uneven. That's why one stir after the 3d bowl seems to work just about perfectly for me.

Right now I see the Legacy as kind of combining the best of the Firefly and the Ghost. The form factor is like the Firefly (except heavier and the lid has a hinge). But the flavor to me seems more like the first hit of the Ghost. The difference being hits 2 through 5 are basically just as good.

Compared to the Firefly 2+: To get the same performance out of the Firefly I'd have to set it to 420 or higher. 5-8 second draws will produce dense vapor from the Legacy. The Firefly can sort of do that >420º but it still needs slightly longer hits and you need to stir after every draw. The Legacy does not quite have the flavor of the FF, but it really makes up for it with dense vapor that is also well cooled. Really, to me it's on par with the Ghost.

Just had a couple more bowls... 1 mint chip and 1 Eight Horses White CBG. Btw I love mixing CBG and regular flower during the day, and I highly recommend mixing your favorite GSC phenotype with a good CBG hemp flower, it really is perfect if you're just doing something "fun" during the day like re-organizing the house for the 4th time in 4 months because you keep trying to "Optimize" your house because you're now spending way too much damn time in it. But anyway one of the things I like about on-demand vapes is the ability to breath through the cool-down. When you use a session vape you are getting a constant temperature. With the Legacy (or even the Ghost and Firefly) you can breathe through the warm-up and the cool-down phases. To me, the vapor changes flavors during each phase so it keeps it a bit more interesting... you notice different terps during the up and down. I really things the Legacy excels at this. With many on-demand vapes you really feel and taste the vapor more during the cool-down phase and the Legacy is great for this. With more handcrafty vapes like RBT stuff the cooldown phase can hit you really hard in the throat, not so with the Legacy, it's really a lot like the Ghost, lots of flavor, but really easy to avoid a coughing fit ... although with its one minute max hit time in on-demand mode, the Legacy can knock you right away if you want it to...but I really don't know why you would want to unless you're making a video to show off your "big clouds".

Also I use a coarse grind with my BCG, which I think is perfect for this beast. Don't tamp it, that's for conduction. Fill just to the brim and the top seal will push the flower down just enough.

Anyway, the Legacy might be my favorite thing right now... it also charges with he Qi wireless charger I already have next to my bed for my phone. If this thing proves reliable over the long-haul, Airvape may have just created a challenger to the Mighty.

Pros
ConsThings to watch out for
Easy access to bowl for load and stirStill needs a stir for max extractionnot sure how easy it is going to be to clean the non-removable parts of the airpath
Great flavornot the easiest thing to fill, very small path to the airway, easy to drop flower in it18650 difficult to remove without also removing glass airpath. Since airpath held in by silicon friction, will frequent removal affect longevity
full vaporon-board stir tool hard to remove, easy to knock flower out of bowl while removing toolSeems to get pretty warm right over the bowl. So far it's been fine for 1 or 2 users. Might not be the best to pass around in that party situation
1 stir to achieve most even roastingreally needs a loading tool, this is perfect https://delta3dstudios.com/scoop-n-poke-vape-tool/
wireless charging or USB C charging
removable glass airpath
18650
on-board stir tool
minimal draw resistance
on-demand mode preserves battery life since there's only one 18650 onboard. Pretty good battery life
Hell, I think that about settles it for me:lol: Ordered one up from the site! I’d imagine I shouldn’t expect to see anything for a while though, right? Or are these suckers ready to ship?:p

Edit: I’ve just received my shipping notification, hot damn:rockon:

The more I use it, the Better I Like it. Learning some of its quirks, this thing hits like a truck. Some of the Mildest considering its Density of Vapor Ive encountered, including thru water !!!
Tired if fking with the Basket, besides, Not into Microdosing and if I did, Id just take a draw and lay it down till later.
Has anyone noticed how Hot it gets while wireless charging from 25% to 100% ? Once charged, it cools off, but, gets pretty warm/hot in the process !

That’s part of wireless charging. Heat is created by inefficient transfer. Cable would have less heat

Recently purchased an "Anker" upright Wireless for my phone. It dosent get near as hot. Was curious ! My phone will charge on either, but, the Legacy will only charge on the pad.
Also posted a pic of the Airvape WPA sitting on top, Increases Coolness(as if it needs it) . Use it on my X also.
Pic is on IMGUR, dont know how to post here, but, pretty Duh, lol !
Thx for the response !

The wireless charging plate on the legacy is probably pretty far from the surface. That’s probably why it’s getting really hot/ doesn’t charge on the other one. Keep in mind, flat is better for wireless charging. The vape is pretty round

It's Obvious theres a specific side(matching symbols) to charge as it will only charge laying symbol to symbol.

YES!

I swear to god I will never buy anything from them again.

Just wondering if your feelings would be the same if you waited to order when it was in stock?

But I feel for you.....I went through the same thing with the Mi3 and Alpine. I am pretty much done pre-ordering for a while.

It ain’t microdosing if 99% of your THC receptors are occupied and you are HAF regardless of the uncooked weight!
0.08g in a reformed basket assures 100% convection as well as max extraction with thermostat set to 428*F in sesh mode for me.
3 min on timer.
Better than MV1? Perhaps not, but not significantly different.
definitely lightening my inventory by one MV1.
Crafty still lost in USPS. With no reply from the German overlords.
somehow, I m not missing it much. I have a new toy!

Spend an hour on the basket reshape project befoe you judge and view my hyperlinks to photos. The inline image routine is not working for me. I tried on computer iPad and android. All I get is enter link - never drag/ drop to this server. Else I would post pics of a perfectly flush fitted basket touching only at the rim, clamped down by the now infamous pressure (resin) plate.
BTW, grab this between fingernails wrapped in an alcohol wipe then blow. Works for me.

the real Achilles heel: the ITsy bitsy tiny filter screen covering the minor hole in the chamber, connected with silicone seal to air path. This screen clogs very quickly, substantially increasing draw resistance. Removal is a pain. Perhaps a loosely filling pumice stone would be better. You could have a few spares and soak in EtOH or iso in batch. I already tire of using the safety pin to extract the gold micro plate. Perhaps someone has a better way?

My friends, it is on the truck for delivery and I am stoked soon to be s(uper)toked. It's been a ride, but the feedback of those who have them make it seem worth it. Not sure I'll ever pre-order a vape again, but I'll definitely keep an eye out on what Airvape is doing.

It seems like the biggest points of contention are the microdosing basket and cleaning the non-removable screen. I feel like I know more about what i'm getting into thanks to you guys.

I’ve been struggling with this vape for the last few days. No matter what I do pack It light, pack tight I never get very good results. The vapor does not taste pure. The battery life is great but the vapor quality is lacking imo.

Moisture content is Critical ! I use Integra 62% pacs and that is too moist, Ive found. Have to grind and let dry out some before using. Ive found if material is too moist, do a couple long draws, let it sit for a while, go back to it (30 mins), give it a lil stir, retamp...becareful on taking a Long Hard draw as the now partially cooked material will give it ALL UP FAST. YOU CAN COMBUST IT OR COME CLOSE.
Once you get the hang of it, this thing hits like a Brick!
I complained about No Taste, that was at 392°F....I tried Temp Stepping, starting at 325°, 2 draws, Very Tasty, upped to 350°, 2 draws, flavor gone, lil stir and up to 392° to finish with a bang last 1-2 draws.
IMO, Still dosen't produce the taste of the MV1 to start, but, Definitely Hits Better !
I added the WPA from my X to further cool the vapor. To me, the change in shape of the mouthpiece allows for a more controlled draw. Youll be surprised at the added smoothness that 2 extra inches of WPA creates.20200818_114836.jpg

What I've noticed is higher temps seem to scorch in on demand. I normally use 420 but its uneven and toasty. Much better results with way lower temps. I use a dube tube to load it and just tap some herb in. Piece of paper works good. I use the little brush they gave me each time to clean it, if you don't it clogs real quick. If I ever decide to micro- dose I'll just load a pinch and hit on demand. I don't get the small basket that doesn't fit. All in all I'm lovin it right now. Still honeymooning.

I'm curious about this as well. The small basket either doesn't fit of needs to be altered to fit. If you want a tiny dosage, couldnt you just load a tiny amt in the bigger chamber? What's the trade off?

Trix, are you trying to use the basket? There's no way I've been able to get that to work, and I was mystified at first because I got nothing. If you're not trying to use the basket (which is problematic), then it's possible you have a bad unit. The device is stealthy on first hit, but that's the nature of convection. Once it's going, it should rock. Good luck!

btw I tried this with my YooTech chargers. These are some of the cheapest chargers on Amazon capable of charging iPhones at 7.5 watts (or at least the cheapest ones that advertise iPhone fast charging) Anyway, the legacy works fine with the flat disk version, but if I put the legacy in the upright(cradle) version I need to put something under it to elevate it slightly. A AA or AAA battery works but that wasn't the result I hoped for.

Also @Okla68, I noticed on one of your posts comparing to the Ghost, the mentioned you turn the heat down pretty log on the Ghost. I never thought about that before (Idiot, slaps forehead). But I had to breakout my backup Android phone, download the APK from https://apkpure.com/ghost-vapes/uk.co.propeller.ghost, and then set user 1 to 284º the lowest it goes. Totally changed my Ghost experience. First hit, no visible vapor but tons of flavor, then took 7 more hits mostly close to 15 seconds each. Turned out it was great, no charing, pretty even roast ... looks like I'm keeping the Ghost until the door falls off.

Btw I've been generally leaving my Legacy around 325 or lower sometimes, never gone above 350. I'm used to taking long hits with the Firefly, if I crank the Legacy past 350 It'll start charing with my long draws. So I keep the temp down lower. Btw don't put too much reliance on the temps on the display. This thing definitely gets hotter as a session goes on. It really is like a Firefly in that regard (they call it dynamic convection). All I know is that the Legacy really easy to use (as long as you don't touch that basket), it feels like a good cross between the Ghost and the Firefly
