Just fired mine up... Still purest flavor from thick clouds I've ever had. Not sure about fiberglass in the air path? @Vicki you still dry herb vape? What do you use

Thanks for the pics! It’s helpful to see the inside.

I have a lot of different devices now, but for ground flower, I’m using the Vivant Ambit and VLeaf Go. I have a Puffco Peak and Plus for dabs, and getting a Boundless Terp Pen tomorrow.

I managed to find a brand new herbalizer in stock at a non-recommended but seemingly reputable online shop. I bought it. Am I crazy?

The shop was on weed maps, BBB, Yelp, scam advisor, etc and had positive reviews.

No available accessories so if this is real I have what comes in the box.

I will provide more details on where others can look or how I've been scammed in a week or so.

Yea, don’t trust that site. It doesn’t have any information. All of the website components seem to be default and the email/phone number are generic garbage.

My Herbalizer arrived. Not a scam. Looked to be unopened. Purchased from https://www.onlinemedicalcard.com/store/product/herbalizer-multi-function-vaporizer/. @mac_47

Any tips from seasoned users?

It seems that nowhere even a little reputable or safe has coolgrips or extra bowls in stock.

Perhaps Delta 3D could create some sort of replacement cool-grips? I can't remember his tag on here but if someone would be so kind...

Also @lazylathe - how did you modify your bowl? Is it back in these pages here somewhere? I'm interested ;););)

Also... any way to tell if I have the updated firmware? Possible to check myself?

Thanks!

Hey all, what should I sell my used herbalizer for? I don’t have the whip anymore, but I do have a silicone adapter for glass, as well as glass but not sure if I want to part with that. Also have solid valve set somewhere that I could include.

What’s reasonable?

Just ebay it and people will bid. $150 would be reasonable starting bid without glass. I mean if I bought I would assume needs parts and maybe calibration.

Almost there...
I decided to have another look at my Herbie.
I noticed my usage had increased drastically due to Herbalizer use, this is a no-no in my vape line up!
Either mod up or get stored/sold.

Since i have a certain love for my Herbie, she was one of the first 50 released into the world, I have a hard time justifying selling her and storing her without use.
A conundrum indeed!

A while ago i modified a glass test tube to fit inside the bowl, this had a small basket screen to adjust the load size.
It worked fairly well but was inconsistent, so not a viable option!

Today i decided to further insulate the glass from the metal wall of the bowl.
There was about a 1,5mm gap from the test tube to the metal of the bowl.
In my mind this air was also getting heated and thus defeating my purpose! I wanted a column of hot air, straight up! No increase in volume at all while in contact with the herb!
So out came my high temp medical silicone, this filled the air gap perfectly!
So i now have a glass lined crucible to load and insert into the bowl. One more step bit i keep the herb at a constant distance from the heat and am now getting very even, medium tan ABV.

This was the first test!
Load size was 0,03g...
Lots of vapor and the flavor was on point, Herbalizer style!

Please excuse the dirty WT... Lots of testing has been done lately...
No fan was used for this test. I did test with the fan and it was also a great but but completely different! The vapor was thinner and lasted for a lot longer, flavor was excellent throughout!
I can attribute this to the fact that i have moved the bowl up from the very bottom to fine tune it to my ABV color. When the bowl is at the bottom, vaporization with the fan is much better.

It's all about being closer to the heat! It would be even better if the bottom screen was at the very bottom edge of the bowl! Hmmm... time to think about a bowl re-design!

This mod now opens Herbie back up again into that quick, micro load one hitter vape!
An oil pad fits perfectly inside the test tube, so it may be even better with concentrates now. I do not have nay at the moment but will fix that in a few weeks time!
The full bowl is still available if i ever need it.

Sorry for the long ramble... It appears this mod works effectively!

This one?

Hailing your presence sir!!

What exactly is the bowl modification? Do you have pictures?

I will find my Herbie and unpack her and see what is going on and what I kept!
For the past year and a half she has been in her original box...

Edit:
Found her and just hit her for the first time in ages!!
She has a spot in the lineup now!!
Bowl is still together and I will upload some pics a bit later.
Super high off a tiny amount and I kept the ABV as well for show and tell!

@VapeEnthusiast

Herbie is a wonderful vape but compared to my regular vapes, she is not in the same ranks as they are...
An excellent vape that is easy to use but not very efficient imo.
The bowl is too wide when compared to the heat outlet size. There is around a 1.5mm gap between the heater port and bowl size.
I shrunk the bowl to match the width of the heater outlet.
Absolutely NO changes were made to the bowl, so experiment away!

Right, Pictures!
My sexy EGG! Still has the screen protector on the display!

And here you can see that it matches the diameter of the bottom diameter perfectly!
20200425-164553.jpg

And the resultant ABV's!
1 and 2 are using the reducer at MAX till no vapor and then the fan till I could take no more...
3 is the standard magnetic bowl without the reducer, notice how much lighter it is!

Nothing beats the Herbie for a quick, delicious hit!

Also had to add that the rattling fan seems to be fixed!

I misunderstood you originally! That's awesome news!

I have a few quick questions that I hope you don't mind.

1) do you remember the ID/OD of that test tube??

2) did you use a bottle/glass cutter to get it down to size?

3) what silicone puddy did you use?

Thanks so much! I'm a tinkerer but scared of damaging anything irreplaceable - this kind of mod is perfect! :D

1- basic lab test tube bought online. 9mm ID
2- Dremel with a diamond disc, fast and effective. I used the open end and also ground the lip off.
3- High temp Dental silicone...perc of the profession...I get to use small amounts when needed.
You could also just pack the space with hemp fiber or natural cotton.

I love tinkering without altering the original design!

Also wanted to ask you a question...
Have you ever gotten to the stage ia bowl where it delivers a sweet flavor?
You have to vape the whole bowl and then fan it and then take a few more pulls, how many depends on the herb. All of a sudden there is this sweet taste...very odd!
Only vape that does it.

Edit:
Also have some borosilicate tube lying around that I want to make a mouth piece from.
Just a nice glass straw straight from the bow!
Should improve flavor and I hate whips....Nasty and need replacing! Glass just needs a quick clean and it's good to go again! Tomorrow's mission!

Hmmm. Not exactly. I have noticed that the Herbie has a unique taste profile in general although the taste is subtle. Perhaps you're just tasting that taste alone? It does seem a little sweet to me perhaps.

I was wondering if it was due to materials in the airpath or perhaps unique effects of halogen bulb heating. I believe you have other halogen vapes though? So maybe it is unique to the Herbie.

I got the Herbie because I have GI issues that sometimes wake me up and I need to either take antacids and pray or medicate a little and I'm usually able to return to sleep. The Herbie seemed to fit the bill.

So far my experience has been generally good but the bowl requires too much stirring in its default state.

I've been using an RBT bucket screen to restrict the space, then covering with a mighty screen to keep that clear of herb. ;)

What's the preferred image hosting site for FC now?

Edit:

Also, without a safe/effective puddy-like solution I think that perhaps the way I'm using it is roughly as good as a watered down version of your mod would be - I hate dealing with cotton - I'll keep my eyes peeled for alternatives though

Has anyone been able to mod their herbalizer to reduce the amount of vape leak from using a volcano easy valve bag? I use the reusable easy valve bags and just hold them while they fill just like vapecritic does. However I can’t help but notice how much more vape leak I get while filling bags as compared to using the squeeze valve. I think it has to do with the squeeze valve having a tighter connection, but I’m not sure. With the easy valve I just hold it with pressure as it fills.

@lazylathe you are going to have me scrambling to try and find a way to make a similar modification. I had been searching for ways to reduce the oven size for the Herbie and force the air in the way you described. No access to dental silicone for me (or test tubes. I work in medicine but pretty well all the vials we just any more are plastic). I will have to give some thought into what I might do to mimic your results.

I have two Herbie bowls currently. One is in great condition but the metal sleeve in the original chamber is loose within the plastic and will rattle a bit. I wish I could slip the metal sleeve out completely but I don’t think I can do so without cracking and damaging the plastic housing. If I were able to get it out I think it’d be interesting to try and see if I could maybe insert a 18mm female joint so that perhaps I could use an 18mm gong similar to an @RastaBuddhaTao product.

or perhaps if I could safely pull the magnet from that chamber and try to have a new bowl design crafted around that.

this is one of those times where I hate having ideas that I’m not skilled enough to turn into a reality.

Let me see what I have on hand here.
I may have another test tube or 2 I could modify and make the adapters for you.
I would have to send one to @VapeEnthusiast as well though?

Will get back to you once I figure out what I have here!

My Herbie solution is easy as Pi,
I have always used my miniVAP Flexicone modules, with just the bottom Herbie bowl, not the top.
I never liked the complete Herbie chamber setup.
Flexicone module is a lower screen basket, middle screen, optional filter, upper flexi cap.

A hydra tube can sit on it or so can a long glass mouthpiece. That connection can be direct OR add @stickstones Delra3D silicone connector for the ultimate fit!

Benefits:
- Don’t ever have to remove lower chamber magnetic connection
- Two basket sizes available
- Can prefill extra baskets
- Change to new load in 2 seconds
- Can add hemp fiber filter or hemp paper filter to stop all that ABV dust from going downstream. My hydra tube goo is pure honey !
- Keeps crap from falling into Herbie vs loading direct bro chamber.

Pics— f#ck Photobucket , my good pics are held hostage there. I have a few in Imgur but just went there and copied link but see no method to drop here

Anybody want to pm me their email addy as I can mail direct from phone and you post???

I try to use my Flexicone modules in any vape that they fit...like Mighty w/o cooling unit

EDIT will email photos to LL to post, thank you
